The property is located very close to the port and main street, at the same time it is very quiet. We arrived at 8:30 AM and the room was available right away. The host helped us with our luggage (we had 4 suitcases). They have very cozy living room that we spent time in while waiting for our departure time. Breakfast is very modest but sufficient: eggs, 1 sort of cheese and ham, homemade pastry.

It’s a bit outdated, but again, it’s the end of the world.

The property is a little "campy." I loved it. It's definitely not cookie cutter. I overslept and the gentleman on duty said it was not a problem and he reopened the kitchen for me. I was very grateful. My room was on 2 levels with the bed at the base of a small set of stairs. The property is uphill from the center of town, right in the middle of it. It's great doing downhill to town and takes a little more effort to get back up. At 77 years, it was my problem, not an issue for younger people. When you get about 2/3 up the hill, the area breaks up into several streets and many are not named. I am not sure I even remembered the name of the street. I got lost and a very nice woman walked me back downhill to where I missed my turn. It was evening and I was alone so it was a little troubling. I suggest you make sure you know your street and ask for ways to remember your way home or get a map. I was very near a lot of restaurants. I visited my fav at the jail museum. You just turn left onto the main street (San Martin) and walk up a block or two to Taberna Del Viejo Lobo. It's on the right side of the street. Fun, funky restaurant with a great outdoor "museum" and a jail theme. I also liked Freddies for dining alone as a single woman. Dublin pub was a lot of fun and food was good. All within walking distance to hotel. I loved the rate at about $92 US with breakfast and I loved the staff. Very helpful and kind.

I would have liked the bathroom on the same level, but it was only 5 steps, a very minor issue. I also would have preferred not to have the hill to walk up (maybe 800-1000') from San Martin.

Valle Frío is a family run Hotel a short 3 or 4 streets uphill from the main tourist streets - a very convenient central location for booking tours, restaurants and shuttles to national park hiking trails - yet in a quiet residential area. The brothers, Mattias, Augustin and Jeremias (and their friend Mattias!) are always available for advice, directions - and a delicious breakfast with lots of variety and fresh fruit. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with storage space and a safe. They can arrange pickup and return for the airport. They speak perfect English!

Quiet hotel and comfortable beds. We liked the central location being able to walk to all the main attractions in Ushuaia. The staff is very friendly and helpful offering suggestions of things to do. Delicious breakfast with a good variety of different foods. Our flight was after checkout but we were able to store our bags for the day before our evening flight. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to Ushuaia.

Clean, comfortable and pleasantly situated for a great view of the Channel. The owners were welcoming and very helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable and pleasant. We enjoyed a copious breakfast along with delicious homemade bread and cake. They even organised a packed lunch when we had an early start to go to the islands. I had a lovely stay in Valle Frío Ushuaia. The staff is very attentive, bit quiet but very helpful with any question or advice I needed. My room was very spacious with a nice little balcony and a lovely view! The structure looks like a mountain chalet and I really liked the family feeling of it. Breakfast was good, I normally have continental so I was very satisfied. The position is only 5 minutes walking to the the main street and 10 minutes to the port, which I found it Ideal, on a hill, and I loved the panorama of Ushuaia from there (it snowed a lot one of days I was there). Cozy family hotel with excellent service from the three siblings Mati, Agu and Jere. They were always helping us with recommendations, adapting the breakfast time to our flight and letting us use the dining area when we order food (they even let us use the silverware, plates and glasses). They also helped us change some dollars. I stayed with my family, we were 4 couples and in the 4 rooms the bed was super comfy. The breakfast included cereal, muesli, granola, yogurt, white bread, brown bread, different marmalades, honey, dulce de leche, cream cheese, medialunas and a piece of cake or pudding. They also have fruits to take and a variety of tea.

If I have to say something, the pipes sometimes smelled bad but that was in one of the rooms and at certain times. We also noticed the same problem outside so it is a city problem

Great location in a quiet hillside neighborhood, but still walking distance to restaurants and shops and the waterfront. We loved the charm and friendliness of this family-run place, and would stay there again on a future visit. The brothers who operate Valle Frio are exceptionally welcoming and kind -- we can't say enough about how helpful they were during our stay! Rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. Good value and nice breakfast, without paying for amenities we didn't need.

We loved everything about this place! It's up in the hills above town, so might not be the place for people who don't like to walk.

Very comfortable and spacious room. Hotel is only 5 min walk from the Main Street in Ushuaia. Hotel owners are really friendly and very responsive to any questions. Breakfast is great and they even prepare a fresh baked cake/sweet every day! Definitely recommend staying here for a nice and chill time!

Good communication from the Hostel as our flights were delayed by 24 hours and they did not charge us for the missed day which was most appreciated. Easy walk to downtown Ushuaia. Very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was typical for this region and quite adequate. This hostel is immaculately clean and well maintained. We had a rental car and parking was easy out the front of the hostel. Our room had a lovely balcony with views to the mountains and city centre. This hostel has an internal elevator which was very convenient when moving around with luggage.

Our room was quite compact so it was a bit of a challenge to have our suitcases and daypacks open for use. We had requested a pick up from the airport which was confirmed by the hostel but when we arrived no one was waiting for us. We caught a taxi which was not a problem and the cost was the same.
