November 2024
Staff were lovely. Room was clean and had everything we needed for a one night stay.
The railway station in Bankstown was closed down in September for 12 months, which made transport to and from the event we were attending, a little frustrating. Transport was included in our concert tickets and we ended up paying over $150 for a 10 km each way journey in taxi fares, and waiting almost three hours to get back at the end of the night despite ordering the return taxi on the taxi company’s app. I know that wasn’t the Mercure’s fault, but given the constant requests from the NSW Government for visitors to utilise public transport, it would have been handy to have had that information on the Mercure website prior to going to Sydney.

Accompanied my daughter who was to have surgery in Bankstown Hospital and staying overnight after procedure. Hotel was 7 minute drive away, 30 minute walk. After a day at hospital, it was great to come back and easily order and pick up take away from the huge selection of restaurants/ cafes located at the hotel lobby, which seem to cater to all dietary requirements and, parking was free to hotel guests. There were also several Asian, Halal, Vietnamese, Lebanese restaurants on the nearby streets.
Underground carpark full when I arrived there at Friday after 8.30pm due to the club - however it was 3 days before the holiday season and just remember to take note where you parked -unlike me!

The lobby has quite an impressive water feature and there is a good amount of choice of eateries. The self check in terminal was quick and convenient, particularly since I was checking in late.
Despite having the room access card on me, I got dealt with suspiciously in the lobby when returning because I didn't have the paper slip I got when I received my card. I didn't have it on me and was told I'll need it next time to get back in to the hotel. If a scrap of paper is really what you need to enter the hotel, and not just the access card / key, that needs to be made clear to guests, since it isn't what you'd usually expect.

Excellent place to stay. Train to the city very close by.
Being school holidays and some families staying and coming back to Motel late at night ( 9.30 ..10.00 ) with very noisy kids yelling out racing up and down passageway. Slamming of room doors which seemed to go on for ages. No attempt by parents to control their kids. Extremely inconsiderate of other guests. Two very disturbed nights trying to sleep. It would be good if when people check in that a note be given to every guest reminding them that there are other guests staying and to be considerate keeping noise to a min.

After travelling all day we were quite tired and were unfamiliar with the layout of the motel reception. We checked in after sorting out details then needed a trolley to transport our bags to the room. We are older and not very mobile. The receptionist found a trolley for us . We then had to run the gauntlet of the Sports club check in procedures and work out our way to where the motel lifts were finally we arrived at our floor and found our room.

The reception staff were incredibly kind and professional. Free parking! The rooms were spacious and beds very comfortable. I needed some more dishwashing liquid and the staff were prompt and kindly delivering more. The showers were hot and towels nice and fluffy. The buffet breakfast was delicious and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly. I requested some fried eggs instead of the scrambled they had on offer and it was no hassle for them. The accommodation is a very short walk away from the train station.
Nothing. It was perfect for what we needed as a family ranging from ages 8 months - 60 years old. Definitely will be re booking in the future.

Great central location for transport, Easy to get to, free parking. Wide range of facilities so you don't need to leave. This has been our 2nd stay and will now be our go to for accommodation everytime.
Did have a loud room next to us until early morning which wasn't great having our baby with us. Did let the reception know and she was happy to deal with the situation if I had notified her about it. I didn't want to make a fuss. But will put in the notes to be roomed away from others if possible for our next stay.

Location and amenities were excellent. Variety of cafes, bars and restaurants without having to leave the building was very convenient. . On-site free parking , good breakfast. Room was clean , bed was extremely comfortable. Staff was courteous, friendly, helpful and professional . Excellent value for what I paid.
Only complaint is the shower. Dirty mouldy grout and door frame. Needs serious cleaning or perhaps an upgrade as a little dated. If not for this I'd give 5⭐️

Excellent facilities in the sports club, close to ovals and a playground.
Some of the room amenities hadn't been maintained. The staff were a bit grumpy on entry, esp. re: use of cards and temporary club passes. Could have done without that after a long day out and about.
