To be greeted so warmly on arrival boded well for the experience we had staying here. Our room was clean, very comfortable, and although small, it managed to provide everything we needed for our stay. We dined at the hotel attached and sat out on the verandah overlooking the 'million dollar' views of the coastline; We weren't disappointed with our meals either! Delicious! Great, friendly staff topped off a perfect night. Highly recommend and most certainly will stay again when we next visit.

Looks are deceiving! From the outside, you could get the feeling you've 'booked a dud' but open the door to your room and its a 'WOW'!

Attached to a pub, these motel rooms are newly refurbished, tasteful and comfortable. We appreciated little touches like the USB charging ports in the sockets by the beds and the very warm welcome. The traditional Aussie pub up front was so friendly, and the bistro (grab a table overlooking the road and the sea) food was excellent - we had the Thai salad. Cardwell is a small place, but quite pleasant. I would say Nightcap at the Marine Hotel represents excellent value for money.

The car park area needs a little tidying up.

The rooms have been updated! We stay here overnight when we travel to Cairns and it was lovely to see the rooms have been upgraded. Clean & tidy with comfy beds. Pillows could be softer but depends on personal preference. Great location and you can’t hear the highway noise. The hotel is usually busy, so the meals must be good. Friendly staff with quick check in and great service. This property should have a higher star rating now. Best value for money in town.

The rooms have recently been renovated beautifully. Really comfy bed. Great shower. Hardly any road (or train) noise. Very friendly staff. Would definitely stay again. Great value. Also loved walking along the esplanade down to the Beachcomber restaurant. Beautiful views on the walk. Amazing food at the restaurant. Highly recommended.

Nothing really. The hotel is being renovated, so you can't expect too much, but the accommodation side of things was great.

Great location, good pub food (massive meals) Seemed recently renovated - a little eclectic in its styling, and very clean and comfortable. Had everything you need. I stayed 3 nights, and it was a great spot.

Rooms have no opening windows and no ceiling fans. Felt a little stuffy without the aircon on, or the door open (which, being ground floor felt a little exposed)

Location was excellent as a base for ourselves looking around. The food was great and very reasonable priced. All staff were excellent.

There was nothing that displeased us. The mirror did just come off the wall with one hook not holding it properly and the batteries were flat in the TV remote but very small issues.

Clean, comfortable and simple roadside motel. Felt very safe. On the site of the pub which was friendly and served decent food, but wasn't at all loud on a Friday night. Great value for money.Would definitely recommend if travelling through Cardwell.

Clean, quiet at night, very comfortable room, great views from the eating and drinking areas. Staff were friendly helpful and check in was easy.

It will be nice when the driveway is completed so not so sandy. Not nice dragging dirt into the lovely clean rooms.

We were lucky enough to stay in one of the newly refurbished rooms. Everything was brand new. Good size room, good size TV and great location. Rooms were quiet, considering they are at the back of a pub. Staff were friendly. We would stay there again.

The rooms are great and have just had a nice renovation . Nothing more needed in the rooms. The BWS manager next door was a good help.

Some of The bar staff in the hotel next door quite disorganized and not professional in how they deal with customers .
