Very nice and antique hotel – cool ambience in a quiet location. Friendly and helpful staff. Very large spacious room with huge TV and sink – loved it. Everything is clean, including the shared bathroom and kitchen spaces. Good value for money. Would recommend this motel and stay here again.

A couple of safety tips – the bed corner posts that are hidden under the covers are quite sharp and need some padding! Accidentally smashed my knee into them more than once – can be painful and cause an injury. There is a step in the toilet up to the toilet bowl, which you don't expect, and no notice on the floor to say "step", so I tripped on it the first time and almost fell into the toilet!

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times, and it is my hotel of choice in Port Augusta. It is far enough away from the main business area to be quiet, but is still only a short drive. It is near the train lines, but the trains haven't bothered me and I am a light sleeper.

Can sometimes be difficult to contact staff as no one is there before 2pm, and had difficulty trying to organise an early check in on last stay. Ended up checking in at the normal time as no one called me back.

The Pampas Motel was by far the best Motel that we have stayed in.our travels in a while. It was absolutely spotless! The double bed was very comfortable and the heating, (although an old heating unit)worked perfectly.well during the cold evenings. Both reception staff and room service staff were friendly, helpful and very hard working. The room had an en suite and was situated behind the Motel. It was very private with easy access to the car park. If we return to Port Augusta, we would most certainly stay here again.

Cannot fault the motel as a facility, only the location as sadly, the setting of the motel was in a semi industrial zone.

Only spent one night here on the way to the Flinders Ranges. The building is lovely and historic, and our room was huge. The bed was comfortable and we had a nice sunset view out the window. Walking distance to a nice park and a few fast food restaurants. The centre of town is a short drive away. The woman at reception was friendly and helpful. Off street secure parking was available and wifi was good throughout the building.

As I have previously stayed there many times under the original owners, it was my preferred place to stay in my work travels. Nice garden outside.

The only complaint is that I wish there was a blanket that I could have thrown over the bed as I was feeling cold. I do not like the air conditioner (heat) going all night.

Nice big, airy room with good facilities - microwave, toaster, kettle, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses and cutlery. Very comfy bed. Maccas, KFC, subway, Indian and fish and chip places within a short walk. The train running past was interesting to watch too!

Bathroom was a bit run down and didn’t feel like it was ok to sit outside in the patio area as there was dirty laundry there.

The units at the back of the hotel were comfortable and convenient. Being able to sit outside in the Courtyard was very pleasant

Nothing although it wouldn’t suit people without a car - being some distance from the shops. We loved the trains going past but, again, some May see this as a negative

I liked the friendliness of the manager & family with old fashioned comfort, no frills but adequate spacious facilities & a homely atmosphere

Maybe the foyer entrance could be more inviting with the closed room at front right put into use perhaps as a lounge or reception area

Location is good on Striling road, close to town centre and the highway. Enjoyed secured parking, bed was comfy

If you're going to bed early trains do go by up til about 9pm, just something to note. Fairly old motel, basic facilities, definitely a budget option

I loved that my car was secured behind a gate remotely operated with a key fob with the room key . I couldn't stop looking at the old painting hanging up. Even though they were full, everything was clean and inviting.

The only bad thing was leaving the lovely air-conditioning to drive home in the heat
