Reminds of a classic good old English countryside B&B. The interior furniture and decorations are more like a museum but in a good way and makes one feel travelling back in time. Comfy old furniture in perfect condition and are well kept. We loved it. Als sorts of deco items make the stay to a real experience. Its a great place to chill and relax after a roadtrip along the Great Ocean road. In the region there are quite some attractions worthwhile to be visited. The owner provides a lot of practical advice. Its great for a one or two day stay. Very friendly owner, easy and very helpful. We would book it again anytime.

The Butlers Guesthouse was not conveniently located for our travels this time, however we did not mind the drive. Jen the host was lovely and very friendly. Our rooms were clean with plenty of hanging spaces. We really appreciated the breakfast which was a great start to our day. The fruit salad was so yummy!
Our rooms came with a separate private bathroom which we were thankful for, however we found it difficult to contain the water within the boundaries of the shower (and to keep the shower curtain from moving outside the rubber boundaries). By the time 3 showers were had, the bathroom floor had become wet and we were sorry about the wet mat !

Jenny was a lovely host. We enjoyed chatting about the history of the guesthouse. The fire in the lounge made for a warm welcome. We were lead to our room which was also warm and welccoming. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable, and the amenities were accessible. Jenny advised us of local activities that were happening while we were in Birregurra. Breakfast was a continental option consisting of toast and fruit, cereal, and yoghurt followed by cooked bacon, eggs, and tomato.🤤😋 Jenny's communication was clear and we never had any uncertainty about anything. An enjoyable stay and would happily stay again and spend more time exploring the grounds and making use of the pool room and the movie room.

Very friendly greeting from Jenny on arrival, making us feel immediately welcome within her home. Provided us with a quick view of where guest lounges, dining facilities and rooms were located. From this it became immediately apparent that the homestead had a significant history, and furnishings throughout added considerable character in keeping within its era. The room was cozy, but still adequate, and contained a large, amazingly comfortable bed. The availability of guest lounges compensated very well for anyone wishing to simply stretch out and read or watch television. The bathroom was of a small size, but again perfectly adequate. , with its only fault being a lower than usual shower head. Breakfast was an absolute delight, with a large array of Continental options available. Certainly, enabling a very decent start to the day. Jenny was a great hostess and was always ready to provide whenever required and willing to share stories of both the home, its previous guests (discreetly) and attractions within the general area. The township is also an interesting place to wander through. A fabulous place to stay, and a return visit would certainly be considered if back in the area.
A lower than usual shower head.

Cooked breakfast was very nice and adequate. Cereal choice good, could supply peaches, pears, apricots with cereal and yoghurt,
The hot water takes a long time to come through and could be hotter, and water pressure is a little low. no plug for sink for shaving. Wasting a lot of water getting it to warm temperature. The ring in the bottom of the shower needs to be positioned level in the floor as the edge is slightly raised and uncomforable to stand on

We loved the quaint charming decorations, the abundance of spaces to relax, the fireplace and the bacon & eggs in the morning. Loved the amount of care directed at our comfort: electric blankets & heaters in winter time, etc.
Sound proofing between rooms isn't great but that's par for the course for buildings of that era. Just be considerate when you're coming home after hours or leaving early.

We stayed in Birregurra so that we could do some bush walks and a platypus tour on Lake Elizabeth. The town is nice to stroll around, but small. Jenny was a great host. I loved the history of the place (a house, then a hospital, then a nursing home, now a guesthouse). There were lots of interesting rooms in the old house area, to poke around in, including a billiards room (which we used) and a theatre room. You can still see parts of the old hospital in the main areas, and in the accommodation area, it still had that nursing home feel. We loved that it was a unique experience. Jenny catered for my vegan diet, and that was really nice. Nice breakfast dining room. Parking is onsite, or out the front.
TV reception in the area, in general isn't great (but it only bothered us as we wanted to watch the cricket lol). There was also a lack of internet access in the rooms, which wasn't that big of a deal, as there was free wifi in the dining area. Unfortunately neither of our phones had reception in the area.

Very quaint period property with lots of local history. Jenny the owner was kind and gracious and kindly drove us to Brae for lunch. Very generous breakfast the next morning (not that we were that hungry after hours of eating the day before).
Bathroom was small and the shower flooded most of the floor but the water was hot!

Lovely older home with an interesting history. The proprietor was very helpful and friendly. We loved lounging near the fireplace for a few hours before bed as it was so cozy. Her suggestion to get some dinner takeout at the local General Store worked out really well.
Can't think of anything. Loved our time there.
