Hotel is very well located, near to shops, restaurants, port, beach, supermarket, cafes. Nice restaurant and bar downstairs in the hotel with very good food and drinks choices at very reasonable prices. Very well maintained and quiet rooms with very comfy king bed Nice continental breakfast provided with option to add an extensive choice of cooked breakfasts Very friendly and helpful staff.

Loved the location, walking distance to everything, cafes restaurants, pubs. You could go for a walk along the foreshore, the pontoon snd yo.to the beach. Loved the level we were on, top level because of the view Loved the every day clean of room if you wanted it. Loved the continental breakfast Staff were lovely and friendly. Parking was great.

The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. We love the old-world charm of the room and furniture. We didn't get to dine there because it fully booked (NYE)

A couple of housekeeping issues - a small wine stain on the quilt cover, it obviously wasn't changed after the previous occupant, and there was a small dirty patch and a hair on the shelf in the shower.

We have stayed here several times before. The location is great and our room was very comfortable in general. The meal in the restaurant was reasonably priced and excellent.

The lighting in our room this time wasn't great and for the price (more than we normally pay for accommodation) we hoped that like on previous occasions we would get vouchers to use in the dining room but we didn't. Also, on our second night there was no hot water available for some reason, and it wasn't overly hot that morning either. Another little glitch was that our TV didn't initially work - staff pointed out that because the TV is raised the cord sometimes drops out - problem solved.

Great room with fantastic view of ocean and loved the spaciousness and comfortable couch to relax on. The bathroom was bright, loved the spa. Good towels. Very comfortable bed with good pillows. Coffee maker and added bonus, well enjoyed. Good continental breakfast in the morning, which came with a friendly chef. Good dinner, with friendly staff assisting.

We didn't like leaving.

A beautiful old hotel built in 1870 that is well-preserved with antique style furniture but has the comforts of updated bathrooms. We loved the breakfast that is included in the old dining room with lots of old photos of previous eras there. Our dinner in the restaurant was fabulous but make sure you book as it was full on a Monday night!

Parking is either on the street or at the rear of the hotel.

The rooms are roomy, very comfortable and cosy. Bed and pillows are great. Shower and bathroom was great. Towels were so lovely, thick and soft. Great continental brekky.

I ordered the roast of the day which was Turkey, only 2 small slices drenched in gravy. The chicken snitzel was lovely, just too much sauce on top. The wine was lovely.

Close to most amenities and attractions. Great dinner in the restaurant. Continental breakfast was included and provided a great selection of brekky items. One feature we were impressed with was the traditional choice of fruits in an individual drinking glass for convenience rather than having to help oneself from a big bowl.

The King size bed, while a great size, could have been a bit comfier. Otherwise, room facilities were great.

absolutely gorgeous property! felt like I had slipped back into the stunning period of 1800s except with all the mod cons! Reception staff were lovely and welcoming. The breakfast room felt very special with a fantastic assortment to choose from and lovely friendly staff. The downstairs Restaurant & Bar had a wonderful feel to it and the menu was plentiful and reasonably priced. we were lucky enough to have booked the upstairs room with a door onto the balcony overlooking Portlands beautiful main st and park, and we had it all to ourselves!

There was nothing to not like about this property

The location is convenient, the room is incredibly quiet though it is just on top of the restaurant, It is very clean and spacious too. Bar stuff is fantastic though. Parking is easy. Checking in is fast, though the counter was not attended at 5pm when we reached, it's just a ring away to get someone promptly.

Wifi is below standard, not sure it is the blue stone walls that affected it, but need much improvement, cannot even watch YouTube in our room. Small towels can be more generous - only one each provided for 2 persons stay :( Breakfast also need a bit of improvement for the price we pay for the room - Covid can no longer be an excuse. Shower water also not contended for some reason it make the flood outside completely wet, even though we tried to face the shower away from the door. The pillow, while abandon, it can be better.
