Stayed in a very large room upstairs. Heating good, Hot water for a shower takes a while to come through the pipes and is good when it arrives. The rooms a decorated according to Pioneer families that first settled in York. I had the Burges room and on the walls are photos of some of the old timers. Furnished according to style of building. Tea and coffee provided. Dinner in the restaurant excellent, I had seniors roast dinner good size meal, gluten free options available. Hubby had steak burger and the size was huge.

Staff during booking and slight change were very accommodating and friendly, on arrival reception was busy with it being joint with bar but was welcoming. The room exceeded expectation and incredible value for money, location perfect to walk the strip of York and walk to the York show. We even watched the fireworks off the balcony on the other side of the facility. The room was comfy and the heater worked very well, fridge tea coffee kettle toaster and crockery provided.Info booklet was both a wonderful and helpful read, I was happily impressed with the whole experience at settlers.

Other guests came back to facility loudly, at 12:30am- stumbling home merry from the pub down the road assumably, but they quieted soon after. Nothing on part of the facility control.

Location was excellent, perfectly located in the middle of town center Overall, except for the mattress and a slight odour on arrival, the room was clean, tidy, located in an excellent location, right outside the courtyard.

Mattress needed to be replaced, appeared to be well used, And a slight closed up odour on arrival, as if the room had not been opened for awhile. Unable to use my Work Meals Card, due to the facilities being classified as a Pub.

The staff are brilliant, so friendly & helpful. The room was clean & tidy & the bed was one of the most comfortable we've slept in for a very long time. Food & service 5/5

Our only disappointment was the state of the gardens. We had a pool view but weren't inclined to sit out the front of our room as the pool yard is mostly dirt & dead plants.

great place and location. Staff was efficient and friendly. will highly recommend. fabulous 4 hour entertainment by a really good nostalgic band. food was first class and priced well. next time in York the Settlers will be my first choice.

single bed was terrible,.. hard as a rock...the toaster kept sparking and I think it fused other appliances,.I reported this to one of your early morning female staff members. No other issues, and these are only minor ones anyway.

Old world charm. Loved the preservation of its history. Great location. Loved the outside courtyard, both where our room was and the courtyard near the bar/restaurant. Friendly staff Great menu Loved the room compendium, a little history lesson!

Coffee cups are too small. Need mugs.

The room was centrally located with a balcony & overlooked parklands.The hotel is within walking distance to all the tourist sites, cafes, IGA & an easy drive to neighbouring towns & vantage points.

The stairs! If you have a disability it is best to have a downstairs room. I ordered a “gluten free option” at the Settlers restaurant but ended up being glutened possibly because there was corn flour in the gravy of my roast lamb dinner.

The old world charm of the place I loved. Has a very country feel to it.

Bed was a little uncomfortable, not used to a smaller bed. We couldn’t get breakfast with you as we were told you were short staffed, found not much else in town that suited our needs, so waited for breakfast once we were home

The location was good, but we didn’t expect it to be very noisy. The train, early morning went on and on, the road next to our room was noisy very early morning, And then tjr motorbikes, I think we choose the wrong weekend. We didn’t have breakfast.

We just stayed one night, and left in the morning, Didn’t see much.

The check in was fast and easy with friendly staff who were quite busy at the time. We were allowed to park our bikes safely for the night and enjoyed a nice pub meal with their 10% discount for staying there too. The room was spacious and nice hot shower.

Nothing was wrong with it .. but I'll try think of something small to mention. The room is quite old and dated, although I didn't expect it to be any different for the location and were happy with it. The pool was full of leaves but we didn't plan to swim anyway.
