Dinner was very good. Transfer to ski area was convenient.

Hotel is located on a very steep hill. Limited amount of towels for SPA. Variety of food in breakfast could be improved. Room with Glacier View is very basic not worth the price.

Our hotel was very good, nice room, breakfast, dinner. We were really happy that we could check in earlier.

I have allergy to feathers, I was surprised that still some hotels have feather in cushions.

The location is very close to the ski station, and hotel offer free taxi to station anytime. The food is perfect. Also have the pool, sauna, gym. I would say it is 5-Star hotel.

If can have the hot spa, that will be perfect during ski season.

The short: We stayed 5 nights in February for skiing and were absolutely delighted and blown away by quality, friendliness and overall experience. We splurged a bit (got a suite with Glacier View) and do NOT regret a single dime, well: Euro we spent. Long version: It is amazing how this hotel has expanded over the years, yet it does not look boxy and imposing in this little quaint town. It's very high end and luxurious. It's situated on a hill (hence the "Hohenhaus" which means High-House) that adds to good views. They provide very efficient transportation to/from ski area, so you can forget your car for a few days. It runs in the morning non-stop or on demand, in the evening back to hotel starting 2pm. The food is phenomenal. There is no other word for it. We had planned to eat out at other places one or two nights but quickly gave up and simply stayed in each night. It’s either plated 5 course dinners or multi-course buffets. The quality is very high end yet very affordable. The staff is amazing (shoutout to Engelbert and Simon, our “head waiters” assigned to our table, both were super friendly, fast, efficient and attentive. Overall all are amazing, it’s not just “customer facing friendliness”, they simply enjoy their job & life, you can feel that. They provide free covered garage parking, cool The sauna “village” is amazing (7 Saunas) and spa/relaxing rooms, simply super chill

Drawbacks (not the hotel’s fault): Hintertux is very small village, and due to Corona the handful of off-hotel venues are closed. If you are looking for shopping and apres-ski, then Hintertux might not be your best bet. Family & ski-focused? Check! The hotel is up on a little hill with a rather steep road. Should it have snowed/iced prior your arrival or departure, you might need solid winter tires or even chains. The hotel states in their prospect that the have heated the driveway but when it did snow during our stay, I could not discern anything melting. Their shuttle has chains so that wasn’t an issue and fortunately it was all clear when we left. Drawbacks (that the hotel could improve on) The ski/boot-room is accessible from the parking/shuttle lot via a long staircase (1 even 1.5 floors) and is quite tricky while wearing ski boots. My wife nearly did a tumble and I observed a few others who struggled. You need to be quite “boot experienced” to feel comfortable navigating them. The Sauna-complex is “nude” (as it should be per European/Scandinavian custom, for obvious hygiene reasons) and there is a small sign to that effect at the entrance door. Yet a few prudish American/British visitors managed to wonder in fully dressed (in bathing suits coming from the adjacent pool) and girls shrieked and ran out upon encountering naked guests. Awkward for both sides. I wonder if the hotel could enforce or communicate this more strictly. The elevator broke... So we had to climb up/down 4 floors several times a day (breakfast, skiing, dinner etc). Not bad if you're able-bodied but for a few handicapped or elder guests that's sub-optimal. It was broke for 4+days, in USA in Football you'd call that a penalty for "Unnecessary roughness" :)
