The location and the staff were brilliant- wry helpful and friendly

The Breakfast- we travel around Europe and this is not the best. The room was not setup for self service buffet. There was a very small area for the hot food- only bacon, scrambled eggs and hotdog sausages. There was no milk - had to be asked for. No tea bags - asked for them and the staff went and eventually came back saying they were the last two! And all this at a cost of €46 for two. We walked 100m across the square for breakfast the other 4 mornings. Conversely we ate an evening meal and the service was excellent and food of good quality for the price paid

Beautiful, clean place for our family to have an evening/ night stop over before a morning flight. The hotel was spotless, the staff friendly and helpful in arranging a taxi the next morning. Our beds had crisp white sheets and were really comfy. The showers were fab, beautifully designed walk in showers with massive shower heads! We loved the fact we could have a shop late afternoon in the adjoining shopping centre and some food and a drink in the hotel’s bar in the evening. All in all a great stay, we hadn’t expected the standard for the money we paid.

We didn’t stay long enough to find anything we didn’t like!

The bed was very good, the room had good curtains to block light, shower was very good, the room was clean and very quiet. Breakfast was okay, could have done with better bread. The hotel sent instructions for the parking - follow these, it will save you a lot of hassle.

Furniture other than the bed were really uncomfortable, the bath was small (in a large bathroom) and the cooling system is very poorly designed (you can't open the windows and the AC was not sufficient to cope). The hotel was not very busy, but they were clearly understaffed (e.g. if the receptionist went to the bathroom, they had to close the reception as there was no cover and in the restaurant there was a clear lack of cleaning (not an issue in the room).

The hotel looks fresh & new; it is quite large; located in the city center; there are restaurants & shopping center in the vicinity; the hotel has a good bar with food; the beds are comfortable; it takes 15 minutes to get to the airport, the train station is 5 minutes walk. The city is very quiet.

The breakfast is poor. We had an issue with the taxi which the hotel called for us - the taxi did not have access to the airport. The driver was going to drop us off at a gas station 600 meters away from the airport, and he spoke just French. We managed to ask him to take us to the airport entrance, and apparently he could access the airport just for 2 Euro extra fee which we paid.

Easy to locate, very clean and a professional staff that just make you feel at home. From the reception to the bar/restaurant staff, you feel welcome. I will not hesitate to come back when next I have a lay-over in Charleroi.

There is a provision for connecting from upper levels directly to the reception area by lift, but we noticed this lift has been disabled, forcing guests to walk from one lift to the next across the entire lobby/bar/restaurant area( quite narrow and with other guests having drinks/food). This can be a little bit cumbersome when you have a lot of luggage.

The hotel was perfect. It was located right at the centre of Charleroi. There was a big shopping mall right next to the hotel. We were a family of 4 so there was enough space for us in 1 room! They have a private parking, but its most likely full since they use the parking for the shopping mall as well. But we were lucky to find one, so it might be difficult for others. The hotel was safe and comfortable. The bathroom was big too. The staff was so nice and communicated with us in english!

All the staff we interacted with, special mention to Mike Andreoli at the reception at night who was tireless! His availability and wiling to solve an issue we had with the taxi that was supposed to pick us up at the airport! The breakfast with plenty of options, all fresh. The usual quality of the rooms and beds at a Novotel. The location, right in the city centre, convenient and quick access from the airport, perfect for a quick stroll and a short walk of the Charleroi Central train station where we went when we left the city. For those with car there's an underground car park right below with direct access to the hotel and a discounted price for guests. I don't usually give a perfect score, but in fact it fulfilled all that was expected and more. That one night stay was a perfect start for our mini vacation.

Nothing worth of mention, really

Great room and an excellent bar and restaurant area. The room had great facilities and was perfect for an unexpected overnight stay.

Asked staff for quick and easy dinner restaurant recommendations for a vegan (we didn't expect to be in Charleroi, connecting flight was cancelled) and they would only tell us about the expensive, unsuitable restaurant they are paired with. Another guest directed us to a restaurant over the road and we found several others that would have also been suitable after a walk around.

Really nice modern hotel in center of Charleroi . Good bicycle storage inside . Reception was very friendly. Spoke English which made conversation easier . Really nice room - 437 - with view of the square . Very clean bathroom and comfortable bed. Close to many restaurants. Their on-site restaurant was closed but we walked about 300m. to a nice restaurant called “The Huggy Burger” . Very nice breakfast in a comfortable area of the hotel .

Novotel is always a good value and comfortable hotel whatever city

This particular hotel has an underground car park which we found impossible and maddening to locate. Me managed to find it after employing the help of local police on bicycles, and even they couldn’t find it initially. We managed to ride our motorcycles to Poland and back, but this car park nearly beat me! No chef that even in g so no food.
