the Perola is a really classy hotel a short drive from Plateau, and the lighthouse. Large rooms, really, really comfortable beds and pillows, minibar that is refilled everyday, and not expensive, but still has room for your own things, should you need it and really powerful shower in the bathroom. The breakfast was really great...tasty range of treats amongst the usual things, nice bread, pastries and little tarts, and you can have it outside overlooking the bay. You can also have dinner there..and the menu is varied and not too expensive, with a good wine list. But...obviously....one of the best things about the Perola is the pool on the roof. after a hot day there is just nothing better than plunging into the cool water, and while small, you can actually swim properly, even if it is only 5 strokes. I really enjoyed my stay in the Perola.

The staff were friendly and helpful. They were all excellent. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows are comfortable. We had a seaview room with tv, fridge, safe, AC and wifi. The views from the 3rd floor restaurant and 7 the floor pool on the roof were fantastic. Breakfast buffet was good, as was dinner at the hotel. There is an ATM at the entrance and mini mart next door. It is a 10-15 min safe walk to the beaches and other restaurants. Sunscreen only available at the pharmacy which is a 15 min walk up the hill behind the hotel. It was 20-30 min to walk to the plateau or short taxi. The pool is not heated but is refreshing on a hot day. Sun chairs on the roof good.

Wifi and AC were intermittent during our 3 nights but mostly worked well. It would be helpful if the hotel sold sunscreen.

Liked the location, food was really good. Staff at the front desk was extremely helpful. The view from the room was spectacular!

There were walls being painted in the middle of our stay. We couldn't use the swimming pool one day. one night we waited over an hour for dinner in a not so busy restaurant. There was parts of our meals missing, too, but we got fully charged regardless. It looks so much better in the photos than in real life.

The swimming pool on top. I appreciated the fact that they sent us a nice plate of fresh fruits because we needed to wait 50min for the room (bon, I needed to ask for a gesture, not sure if they would have done it otherwise but it was done), they proposed and preppared for us breakfast bags as we left early in the morning.

There are many signs of humidity (even though dried) around the walls, inside the rooms or on the halls. I think though that overall it is a bit too expensive for what it is. Like big hotels, it feels impersonal for a family holiday but we were only for a night, in between travels.

Perfect!!!!!!! I booked for my girlfriend's 30th birthday. They made our stay memorable. The staff decorated the room and believe once the door opened, we were surprised by the decorations they made for her. The dinner in the restaurant was really good and I suggest you to order "Atum grelhado", which was delicious. The hotel is beautiful and the swimming pool is calm and provides you a wonderful landscape over the city. There are many cabs around so the transportation is easy. There is a nice breakfast, you have many choices, good coffee and different fruites. The rooftop pool is very nice. The staff is also very friendly. The restaurant is very classy and the food tasts perfect. The hotel is 20 minutes by foot from the city centre plateau. To the beach with a nice restaurant you need to walk 10 minutes.

I have got a room with no view and the room was under the restaurant. So it was very loud in the morning and the afternoon. The airport transfer is very expensive, you pay 15 euros for only 8 minutes.

Great location. Easy walking to Plateau and beaches. View of the presidential palace and bay. Bed comfy. Shower very good at times. Decent breakfast. Staff helpful.

Shower often not good. Room smelled of weed each time we arrived until Aircon had been on a bit. Road outside was noisy (bring earplugs if facing front). Balcony view also spoiled by traffic making it a waste of money over other rooms.

Super friendly and helpful staff! Nice and comfy rooms, clean and pretty modern. Overall, the hotel looked to be in very good condition. Breakfast had a good variety and everything looked fresh.

The rooftop seems nice, but at second glance the furniture is quite used, the cushions are discoloured / torn, the wooden construction could use repairing. The one man (probably the manager as he was dressed differently) in the restaurant was unfriendly to guests and staff alike. The staff themselves were super nice and helped wherever they could! Coffee could be better.

We stayed in this hotel twice during our holidays in Cape Verde with our youngsters. We are very happy about the choice of hotel. The rooms are large with new and very comfortable beds and in a bright design. The pool terrasse on the top is wonderful with a great view of the beaches of Praia. The staff was really friendly and made an effort to accomodate our wishes during the 2 stays. From the hotel you can easily walk to both the Plateau and to the small beaches closeby. The restaurant on the 3rd floor serves really good food!

Rooms on the first floor with a sea view have noice from the road in front of the hotel. After dark it is recommended to take a taxi from the hotel.

Comfy hotel. Very nice rooms. Asked for quiet room and received 509 which was very far away from the street which is always loud at night in Praia.

We asked for 2am taxi and the man at the front desk called us at 1.30a to leave because he claimed there was traffic. We ignored him and left at 2am as planned. He was not happy with us but yet there was no traffic at all and the trip to the airport was quick. I think his taxi driver friend just wanted to do something else and get our ride over with earlier.
