We had a good experience at the Crossing overall. Having read other reviews we knew there is no WiFi in the rooms but there is a spacious and comfortable guest lounge with adequate WiFi and a laptop for shared use. The guest lounge also had table tennis and a really useful information area with their own detailed leaflets about hikes and other activities in the area. This was quite exceptional and a feather in their cap. The room we were in was quiet, comfortable and perfectly adequate. The furniture isn't new but fit for purpose with comfy chairs and a huge and comfy bed The bathroom was clean and worked well. The staff were without exception polite and helpful. The location on the Icefield Parkway is exceptional as is the view from any of the rooms.

We had booked a mountain facing room (in fact this wasn't really necessary as there are mountain views both sides of the motel) but we arrived late and had been allocated a room very near to the electrical generator which was extremely noisy. Fortunately we were able to move to a room at the other side of the premises where we couldn't hear it at all. This was a cheaper room and we were offered breakfast vouchers to compensate which we felt was fair. We had two evening meals and two breakfasts at the restaurant and would advise steering well clear of the buffets, especially in the evenings since it was the same both nights and lacked freshness and appeal. However dishes from the a la carte menu were much better.

The motel is in a convenient location. The views are nice and the staff are very friendly. There is a restaurant, pub, gift shop, full service gas station, and guest common area below the pub with couches, wifi, and a ping pong table. The rooms were surprisingly clean for a motel. It was nice having a shower with great water pressure. I would stay here again if passing through the area.

The photos do not match what it actually looks like. But it is a motel, so it is nicer than your typical motel room. In my opinion, having more realistic photos would possibly bump up the ratings a bit, because I think I would have gone in with different expectations and been pleasantly surprised. Overall, this is a good place to stay for the night.

View from our room was great! No microwave but there is coffee maker. No reception/signal or wifi in the room. You need to go to the pub if you need to use a wifi. Overprice foods and groceries so you better bring your own. We dont care about signals or wifi or microwave if we have a great view! We had cup noodles for dinner since no microwave we used the coffee maker to get hot water. It be nice if they have firepit out front, that be cozy. Overall, we love our stay and the view for the price its well worth it. Highly recommend.

Overall, our stay was great. Visitors need to know what to expect in that it's in a remote location and isn't a luxury lodge experience. We knew that coming in, though, so it was what we expected and wanted. The location was our primary reason for our stay as it's a convenient halfway point on the parkway and we travelled in April when campsites etc. were still closed. The food was expensive but, again, that's understandable considering the remote location. The breakfasts are very large! The staff were very friendly! Thanks Edna, Mila and all. :)

The pub doesn't allow any minors in after 4pm, even our 10-month old daughter. That seems silly, given that most other places, including wineries and breweries, were happy to have us with her. Having a time cutoff is fine, but it ought to be 8pm or later. Since we couldn't take her there, and the restaurant wasn't open for dinner yet (early season), the cafeteria was our only option.

Completely self contained with petrol station, restaurant, pub, gift shop and cafe in what felt like the middle of nowhere, but great spot for hikes and exploring down towards Banff and up towards Jasper.

WiFi only available in common areas between 7am and 11pm. Wouldn’t usually be an issue but trying to plan anything for the next day when we’d been out all day was an issue if we weren’t back in time by 11. Also meant remote working was impossible.

The location is amazing. Check out the sky at night, and the mountains truly surround you! The room was comfortable, and the bedding was crisp and clean. We found the bed really comfortable! It is a rustic place and a little dated, but that added to the charm. The restaurant on site was very good. But, I'd skip the buffet and order off the menu. The lamb was delicious!

The carpet. I would have preferred a floor that is easy to clean and is more hygienic. Also, the room is smallish.

The location was perfect for the hiking we wanted to do, the scenery was beautiful, and the facilities—gas station, restaurants, small store, sauna—were appreciated since there was nothing else nearby. The room was small and somewhat dated but comfortable with everything needed. Staff were very friendly and responsive to any questions or problems that arose.

Wifi was only available for brief periods in the pub after 4 PM. The main restaurant only had a buffet for dinner—the same few options each night of our 5 day stay. The cafe and pub had very limited choices. Healthier food in smaller portions and price would have been appreciated.

The location was the big draw. Most people, we were told, stop for one night. We stopped for three. There is plenty to do and see along the Icefield Parkway. The all you can eat breakfast was good too. It kept us going all day

This is the only location for fuel along the 230km Icefield Parkway. Costs of gas are consequently 25-30% higher than in Banff due to lack of competition. The gift shop was tacky and expensive. However, we needed neither, so it was of no concern to us

The location is terrific, the scenery all around the hotel is jaw dropping. The bed was fairly comfortable.

The only internet available was in the pub, so one was required to purchase a $7.50 beer or $13.00 glass of wine for the 'free' internet. We didn't eat the food, brought our own. Food served at the pub was mostly fried, nothing fresh or made from scratch. The bed was reasonably comfortable, but the furnishings were decidedly dated, well used. Could do with a sprucing up, especially given the price they charge. With that said, the view from the front porch of the rooms were unbelievable, and that made the stay very enjoyable.

At roughly the midpoint of the Icefields Parkway between Banff and Jasper the location is great. The rooms are small but clean and the mattresses were decent.

The big downside was that wifi is only available in a small area near the pub and doesn't reach to most of the rooms. It's not a big deal, but be ready for it. Note that there isn't any cell coverage in that area either, which of course is not something that the hotel has any control over.
