This is an excellent hotel conveniently located at the southeast entrance to Whitecourt. It is relatively new and has been well maintained with good features. The location is beside a great service station and next door to an excellent restaurant with a small patio … Mr Mike’s provides a diverse menu and has thorough service and excellent cook. Parking is excellent and secure for small or large units. The rooms are very well designed with comfortable beds and excellent bedding! We have chosen to stay in this hotel five or more times in the past couple years … it has become our first choice when staying over in Whitecourt.

Room was very clean, cozy and modern. All the essentials were in the room. Hot breakfast in the morning was excellent. Staff was friendly, courteous and accommodated our request to check in prior to 3 pm. Room did not disappoint 😁

Unable to watch tv. Suggested to staff at front desk at check out that cleaning staff verify that tv’s are connected to Optik and cables have not been switch around by previous guests. Not a big concern but would have been nice to watch a bit of tv before lights out.

I just needed to rest and the Kanata gave me a quiet room. I was on the top floor, far enough from the elevator. I didn’t hear a thing Thank you.

The breakfast room was unmanned. Sometimes finding things is difficult (cutlery, tea, honey, whatever) and I never saw a single person while I was in having my breakfast.

We always select this hotel because of 3 things: cleanliness, staff and location. The young women who work front desk should be commended. They are always cheerful and friendly, never phony or rushed, always ready to help with anything they can. Bathrooms are pristine, hallways immaculate, beds comfortable. And the location - easily accessible from highway but far back enough to be quiet - can’t be beat. As a bonus, the Esso service station right next door has great food!

Room was big, clean and updated with nice bed coverings and the satin finishing a. I also liked that the cups and glasses because they weren’t plastic! I appreciated that there was more than 1 coffee pod for the coffee maker. Breakfast was great!

No gym. But it wouldn’t be a deal breaker

Loved the friendly staff, clean & spacious room, and easy-to-find location. Despite being near the highway, the room was very quiet. It was handy having a gas station & convenience store right next door. If we pass through this area again, we will definitely stay at this hotel!

When i arrived there was no one at the front desk, i waited over 5 minutes for someone to show up, called the hotel 5 times to try and get someones attention, when the staff member finally arrived he said "sorry i was in the bathroom" not fun after a very long day and just wanting to check in and have a shower, both times i returned to the lobby that evening there was no staff member to be found, i doubt he was in the bathroom again both times, probably a lazy employee slacking off doing something that they shouldnt be. Beyond that it was a very comfortable and clean room and conveinently located

We had an amazing time at the Kanata. We booked at the very last minute and had a great room with King size bed and jacuzzi. The room was super clean, towels in numbers, toiletries good quality. Staff was super nice and friendly. Breakfast was really good too.

Just one thing: we used the jacuzzi as a bathtub cause the button for bubbles didn't work. We forgot to warn the staff when we left.

The location is excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facility was very clean.

The hotel should disclose the fact that they are doing renovations and apparently the contractor works on Sunday mornings. The stairs being redone is great but perhaps with the hotel not being full the rooms close to these stairs and the not quiet air compressor should not be used. Being woken up by the banging then the loud compressor is not great for a Sunday morning.

Clean and quiet. The pet friendly room was immaculate. Comfy beds and amazing breakfast! Gas station outside for convenience with an amazing little store for road food and snack!!!
