Hotel is undergoing renovation so is a bit of a mess at the moment. Some rooms are already renovated but missing tables or desks and chairs. I was assured new furniture will be ordered when they finish the work. New beds and bathroom. Wifi worked pretty well and it was important for me, since I was working remotely. New CCTV and systems were put in the corridors and outside. If you visit in 2 months, everything should be nice and shiny. Location is good and bad thing. It's only 5 minutes walking from waterfront, but you have a view towards phone exchange and GSM mast. Maybe they can but some high conifers by the fence to make it a bit nicer. Plenty of parking. Just by the main street. Parry Sound is good place to stop, take a cruise to 30 000 Islands, visit Killbear Provincial Park which is very close. And definitely go to lookout tower in the morning, when sun shines over the town. Great view in fall.

Since renovation is still ongoing, I assume certain things will be added to the rooms, like desk or table, something to put your case on, hooks for towels by the sink. There's railway bridge stone throw and you can hear the trains, but that's the thing for the whole downtown. Neighbouring hotels will have the same issue. I didn't mind it and found freight trains quite interesting and feature of the town.

The room was very clean. The tub was quite new and had lots of hot water. The WiFi, fridge, microwave etc all worked well. I liked being able to park right outside my room. (I had a choice and picked first floor)

This motel appears to have a mix of short term and longer term residents. Not necessarily a problem--just stating the situation. Someone had a dog that barked frequently during the day, but not at night. (Or maybe it was the bird I saw in the next room, impersonating a dog 😊?) And the trains on the historic trestle nearby are LOUD. Sadly you can't see them (maybe in winter, when leaves drop?) The key I was initiallygiven didn't work consistently; it was replaced but that door and the screen door did not inspire confidence of safety. Generally this place is much better than the initial impression conveyed, especially by the outside, but it's not for the picky.

Amazing location - everywhere you want to go is within walking distance. Extremely helpful, friendly and thoughtful staff. Room is very spacious and the fridge is larger than many other places I've been. Very hospitable pet policy. Strong (if a little loud) air conditioning (a necessity as it was very hot) This is my third hotel stay in Parry Sound. Each time at a different place. This hotel is now my favourite. I chose it simply because it was the cheapest (cheaper than the other two I stayed at), so my expectations were very low. I was very pleasantly surprised. The pros far outweigh the cons, and the value for money, comparatively speaking, is unbeatable.

The decor is a bit dated and gloomy, but that's a very minor issue given all the advantages. I'd take great staff and great location over pretty decor any day.

Great value for the price. Clean. Has a hair dryer and a fridge in the room. Has a microwave and a toaster by the hotel entrance. Also a home style coffee maker by the hotel entrance. It was empty, perhaps if we leave later (i.e. after 7am), there may be coffee available. Not sure. Bed on the harder side, buy we didn't mind. We had a comfortable sleep.

Carpet on the floor - just a personal preference

The staff went above and beyond!! They heard I was carrying a bit of luggage, and me looking dubiously at the stairs, and moved me to a first floor room, which made my stay a LOT easier. I also asked for a late check out, when plans had changed, and they were very accommodating! Would come here again! Thanks!

The breakfast couldnt be beat and it arrived in record time. walking distance to everything we desired. Tony was a dynomite host and treated us like royalty.

If you want to go out and have a good time in the evening avoid the brunswick sports dump and roach pit, staff are short on manners and drinks are watered down and expensive. that half pint working the door best keep an eye over his shoulder.

A touch of nostalgia: central refurbished mid-twentieth century hotel/motel at the edge of downtown Parry Sound. Large room! Comfortable bed with firm mattress.

Adjacent parking lot needs some work. But nice to park at the back door.

Tony, the owner, went out of his way to ensure my comfort. He moved me to a lower level room to accommodate my service dogs. I generally don't stay in motels as I have a boat access cottage but due to the time (1130 pm) I decided to get a room.

Very affordable and decent stay for a quick night or two. Rooms are huge.

Could be maintained better, but I know that would make this a not so affordable place anymore.

The spot in town was perfect for walking around and seeing everything. I really did enjoy the sound of the train on the tracks just beyond the parking lot.
