The property is beautiful. Built in 1913 it has a lot of character and the owners have taken care to furnish it appropriately with quality, period furnishings. It is kept exceptionally clean and tidy. There are two restaurants available and the food is freshly cooked and of good quality. Our room was delightfully attractive, very comfortable and exceptionally clean.

Lack of choice at breakfast. Breakfast was included within the room price and it was one plate only with either tea or coffee. It was very tasty and well presented but there was no choice, no juices or even water offered. Also there was no room service, we stayed for two nights and no one came in to make the bed or take away used towels. I would have appreciated being told this would happen but we were not.

Beautiful building and room.

Customer service was lacking in the AM. Very limited menu for lunch. I wanted a soup and grilled cheese. The cook said I couldn't have a soup and grilled cheese by saying "I refuse to make something on the kids menu for an adult!". I even said I would pay extra. She walked away saying "no no no". I inquired with another lady and she said "we can't try and accommodate everyone". Ummm... what? I'm not asking them to rewrite the menu or even do something they don't already do. I just wanted a soup and simple grilled cheese. RIDICULOUS! FYI... adults eat grilled cheese too! More importantly, to deny a guest such a simple thing that you are fully capable of doing is pretty crappy customer service!

Very historic but updated Inn. Not to be confused with the Grey Gables in the United States or elsewhere, this Grey Gables in the quaint little town of Pembroke Ontario CANADA 🇨🇦. Is an exquisite find. Lynn at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful upon check in. The Oak Door restaurant located within the Inn was elegant the food was above par and Kevin and Jess the wait staff, were wonderful polite friendly .

The night front desk man was rude to my dinner guests as he refused to let them come up to see my room for the night. Not good PR if you want to perhaps book rooms out in future. Pembroke Ontario Canada is a small city located about an hour east of the nation's capital (Ottawa) so you would think being remote they would want people to show there rooms at the Inn drum to up business.

We loved, loved absolutely everything about the Grey Gables Inn, and more! Innkeepers, Lisa & Rigo, and their stellar employees made us feel so, so welcome and comfortable. The Inn is breathtakingly gorgeous! We take life for granted sometimes; we felt very humbled to stay in a Historical Inn such as Grey Gables. It happened all by circumstance. The Oak Door is a beautiful, unforgettable dining experience. The food is superb and they deliver top notch hospitality. Hey Travellers out there….in these trying times, please support local independent businesses such as this Inn. They have so much to offer. Next time we visit Ontario, we know the exact place we will stay. We still are in awe!

What was there not to like. This is a beautiful old mansion, that has been kept in excellent condition. We stayed in the Balmoral Room and this is a very spacious and comfortable room. Great king size bed, with two wing back chairs and a electric fireplace. The whole inn has the original wood work and furniture, very beautiful. We had breakfast in the dining room which is a nice upscale restaurant. The staff were excellent and very attentive to us upon arrival and throughout our stay. This Inn is close to downtown area and restaurants, we walked for about 10 mins and found a very nice creperie. Next time we come back here we will definitely try the Oak room at the Inn for dinner. Definitely will be back .

There was nothing not to like here. Excellent place to stay.

The breakfast was unique - especially because of covid. Each patron was asked for a timewhen they wished thier breakfast & it was prepared and served in thier elegant breakfast area. The Oak room was thier dining facility an the the meal there the night we arrived was exceptional. Our room in this elegant old mansion was huge and comfortable in every way. I am always a bit of a history freak and this satisfied the urge - and everything worked. Staff were helpful beyond expectation.

Very little.No elevator to the second floor, but a grand sweeping stairway that made getting our stuff up there easy. (and staff were more than eager to help or carry it up themselves.

The elegance and ambiance as well as the attentive staff. The plated breakfast was excellent and the evening meal in the casual dining room was exceptional.

Beautiful property with lots of character. Close to the hospital where I was working. and close to the shops and restaurants “ downtown”.

The blue spotlights on the exterior are out of place. And they cast light pollution into the front rooms.

Old and charming English-style house. Very nice room. Spacy and decorated with style. Very welcoming and forthcoming staff/owners. Close to the marine/waterfront and the city of Pembroke is located centrally for exploring Ottawa river valley (and also Algonquin park).
