Location (close to metro, city wall, alleys with restaurants…), excellent breakfast, spacious rooms (2 queen bed room easily fits a family of 4 plus luggage)

I was a little dissapointed by not receiving an answer to my message sent via booking site- I was asking about the directions to the hotel. It was quite challenging to find the way from the underground tunnel, but we did it:)

The triple room is OK for three persons, there is enough space for big suitcases. Everything is clean. There were washing machines and dryers on our floor, so we could wash and dry our clothes - very comfortable is when you are on a trip for weeks.

It is quite noisy in the room, you can hear the vehicles passing through the nearby streets all night long. The reception staff did not speak English. They used translation apps, and so we managed to communicate with them. But in my humble opinion it is not OK for a hotel of an international chain, where guests come from all over the world, to have reception clerks without at least basic English.

Perfect location. Good restaurants nearby. . Google location is wrong. After getting down from metro, take exit C and continue to exit number 3 (NandaJie west). The hotel comes right side after couple of buildings.

Breakfast has a good spread. Many choices of food. Coffee selection is good. Room is quite large with enough space. Bathroom facilities and shower is strong. Location of the hotel is very near to Bell & Drum Tower with access to the Xian metro easily. Walkable distance to Muslim street, Grand Mosque and ancient great wall. Most attractions are easily accessible by using the metro train. A lot of food varieties nearby.

The wifi coverage is very low and not accessible sometimes. We landed at Xian past midnight. Instruction to the hotel was through a very dark alley which we were not comfortable and was a little scary especially for ladies or solo travelers.

The location is within 5 mins walk to the Bell Tower and it's metro. Other than the cleanliness and good services of the staffs, here are other details of the good experience: - They have a tour booth in the hotel, making it easy to make engage a tour to the Terracotta Army or Mt Huashan. We had wonderful experience with miss Liu who helped us with the arrangements. - Hotel provides unlimited free bottled water. Never short of this, especially during the hot spell. - There's a sundry shop opposite selling Tsingtao at only RMB4/bottle and some 1L craft beers at only RMB22. - Best water pressure during shower in my life. - The lobby is a great hangout area. Bought some snacks and beers and no one disturbed us. - Reception was helpful to move us to a quieter room.

There's a disco or live show nearby. Full blast of music with deep bass until 4.30am. So best to ask the reception to move you to a quieter room to avoid the music.

My stay at Holiday Inn Express Xi’an was very pleasant. The hotel offers excellent value for money, combining comfort, convenience, and efficient service—everything you need for a smooth stay. A great way to fuel up before a day of exploring! ✔ Convenient Location – The hotel is situated in a practical area with easy access to public transport, making it simple to reach Xi’an’s top attractions, including the metro and Bell Tower area. ✔ Friendly & Efficient Staff – The front desk team was welcoming and helpful, providing quick check-in/out and useful local tips. I purchased a number of items from taobao and it gets delivered to the hotel and i am able to pick up my parcel from the hotel reception with ease when i returned from my sightseeing in the evening. Housekeeping also did a fantastic job maintaining cleanliness. For travelers looking for a no-fuss, comfortable, and affordable stay in Xi’an, I’d definitely recommend Holiday Inn Express. It delivers everything you’d expect from the brand—consistent quality and great service. I’d happily stay here again!

My family and I had a great stay at this hotel. We booked standard rooms with single beds, and they were much more spacious than we expected. The free breakfast was also really good, with plenty of options. The front desk provided great service, including accommodating our early check-in time. We also used the tour package services and had a good experience. We opted out of daily housekeeping, but the staff still left toilet paper and bottled water outside our door, which we appreciated.

Other reviews mention a nightclub nearby, which explains why I heard bass music every night. It didn’t bother me or my family, but it was noticeable. If you’re sensitive to noise, I’d recommend mentioning it to the front desk at check-in.

The hotel is in an excellent location, just a short walk from the Bell Tower and right next to the Muslim Quarter, as well as a very interesting street food area that we happened to discover on our last day. It is located at the end of the street and can be accessed through an open gate. The city walls are also within walking distance, making it very convenient for sightseeing. The room was good — not brand new, but perfectly reasonable and comfortable for four people. Toiletries were provided, and housekeeping cleaned the room daily. Breakfast was excellent, mostly Asian-style, which suited us perfectly, so we found it very satisfying. There is also a laundry room available for guests, complete with detergents. The English spoken by the reception staff was not the best, but this is quite common throughout China. Overall, a very good hotel and a great base for visiting the main attractions of Xi’an. I would definitely recommend it.

A small note: a couple of extra hangers would have been appreciated.

The attention to detail in the provisions within the room were fantastic. Lobby was comfortable and inviting for guests to sit around, yet simple and fuss free. Facilities for water were abundant -- we appreciated this greatly. The ladies in charge of breakfast provided excellent service. The place was clean, comfortable and warm enough. We checked in past midnight and the two ladies at the counter offered excellent service.

The counter staff sometimes felt impatient and not welcoming to queries and request for assistance. They would attend to us, but it didn't feel like they really wanted to assist. The room doors don't have soft closing and would bang shut. Also the sound proofing wasn't strong so we could hear what goes on in another room from the corridor, and the sound of doors slamming in the morning from inside the room.

The hotel was as clean and modern and simple and decent as per what you can expect from Holiday Inn Express Hotels. In addition, the hotel is located in downtown and everything (metro, supermarkets, restaurants, the bell tower…) is literally at your doorstep or easy to reach. In addition we got a plate with fruits offered for free plus the hotel extended our checkout time by two hours. Ultimately, it was quiet inside the room as the room was not facing the busy main street.

The hotel is not easy to spot at first glance, the entrance is located in a side street next to the bell tower.
