Location (close to metro, city wall, alleys with restaurants…), excellent breakfast, spacious rooms (2 queen bed room easily fits a family of 4 plus luggage)

I was a little dissapointed by not receiving an answer to my message sent via booking site- I was asking about the directions to the hotel. It was quite challenging to find the way from the underground tunnel, but we did it:)

The triple room is OK for three persons, there is enough space for big suitcases. Everything is clean. There were washing machines and dryers on our floor, so we could wash and dry our clothes - very comfortable is when you are on a trip for weeks.

It is quite noisy in the room, you can hear the vehicles passing through the nearby streets all night long. The reception staff did not speak English. They used translation apps, and so we managed to communicate with them. But in my humble opinion it is not OK for a hotel of an international chain, where guests come from all over the world, to have reception clerks without at least basic English.

Perfect location. Good restaurants nearby. . Google location is wrong. After getting down from metro, take exit C and continue to exit number 3 (NandaJie west). The hotel comes right side after couple of buildings.

The attention to detail in the provisions within the room were fantastic. Lobby was comfortable and inviting for guests to sit around, yet simple and fuss free. Facilities for water were abundant -- we appreciated this greatly. The ladies in charge of breakfast provided excellent service. The place was clean, comfortable and warm enough. We checked in past midnight and the two ladies at the counter offered excellent service.

The counter staff sometimes felt impatient and not welcoming to queries and request for assistance. They would attend to us, but it didn't feel like they really wanted to assist. The room doors don't have soft closing and would bang shut. Also the sound proofing wasn't strong so we could hear what goes on in another room from the corridor, and the sound of doors slamming in the morning from inside the room.

The location is very convenient. Easy access to metro station, food and malls. They even displayed free bottles of water for us to take. There’s also free laundry area for us to wash clothes! The hotel also provided both soft and firm pillows and soft and hard toothbrush too! The staff was very attentive. We did not arrange make up for a day and she was asking if we need her to clean up after she saw us back in the room. I told her it’s ok and she even brought us extra water!

There’s a smell in the lift and room. It did not affect us much as it subsided once we stepped in the room. I guess because there was no air con during this period of time due to the weather.

The location was fantastic. It was within easy reach of The Bell Tower, malls, shops on the main road. If you are adventurous to wander around, there are plenty of small eateries serving local food at the side street of the hotel. Train station just literally outside the hotel. You can also walk to the City Wall from the hotel. Barely 10 minutes to reach. Rooms were pleasantly clean and decent size. There is a TV and kettle in room. Comfortable beddings provided. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. There is extra bottled water and you can collect extra coffee and tea packs there. Breakfast has a decent spread There is a tour desk at the lobby. You can arrange local sightseeing with them or ask for suggestions to go. We had arranged a dinner and musical show with the tour desk and the airport transfer with them. Overall, it was a good choice to stay at the hotel. I would recommend my friends to stay when they visit Xi'An.

What i didn't like was that some guests smoked in their rooms, and the cigarette smell went through the aircon system. Probably a common thing in China. Had a similar experience of cigarette smell through aircon system when I was at a hotel in ChongQing city recently.

Service and assistance are excellent. Able to get lots of good advices from Sunny (hotel GM.) via WeChat. Beds & pillows are very comfortable. Breakfast line has good variety of foods; both western and chinese style. Location is great near the Bell Tower, near the downtown airport bus stop, and also near the Metro and bus stop; it is easy to get around many sight-seeing spots in the city. Left-turn from in front of the hotel leads to the small alley around 6pm to discover a surprisingly great variety of local food stalls. Generally it is quiet at night and no sound of traffic penetrating into the room. Though for the sensitive ears, there's slight low-pitched sound from the very far outside the hotel at bedtime but not a problem at all for my friends and I; we slept very well throughout the night after sight-seeing long walks.

The weather and the sunlight were too warm on the last 2 days of my stay, of course outside the hotel's control.

The location is central in Xi'an city. It's very accessible by taxi as well as subway, even the nearby attractions such as Bell, Drum Towers, the City Walls and Muslim Quarters are all within walking distance. The laundry facilities are provided free of charge and were really helpful especially during the rainy season.

The hotel main entrance is located in a narrow lane that has a dead-end which is very difficult for cars to get in, reverse and get out. As such, if you take a taxi, the driver will have no choice but to drop you along the busy bus lanes which can be especially inconvenient and hazardous for guests who are senior or disabled.

The hotel is located few minutes walk from Bell Tower, which is situated right in the center of Xi'an city. There are plenty of attractions within walking distance. Plenty of convenient stores or shopping malls nearby. Breakfast selection is pretty good (both Chinese and western food). There is a tour agency at the lobby for guests who need assistance on tour or airport transfer services. The staffs were very attentive and very accommodative. I can't find anything bad to say about their service. There are free laundry facilities at level 2 - both washer and dryers.

The main entrance of the hotel is at the side of the building (small alley) which make it difficult for taxi to park and wait for guests. We had to ask taxi to pick/drop us off by the side of main road, which makes it rather inconvenient for guests with big luggage. I sent the hotel questions through booking.com after I made the hotel reservation which went unanswered for more than 2 months. The hotel finally responded to my questions few days before my trip. I wasn't impressed with the speed of the hotel's customer service response. Having said that, the customer service was very impressive during our stay at Holiday Inn.
