Staying in this gorgeous boutique hotel with only seven rooms absolutely made our five day visit to Cartagena. Perfect location for multiple quick forays daily on foot into the searing heat to visit all the important points of interest and fine restaurants. The calm and gracious interior space was always a welcome refuge from the chaotic and loud street scenes of the city. The wifi never skipped a beat; a/c in the room was excellent; hot water and pressure perfect; breakfast was made to order and delicious (7am-12pm) with French press coffee available at 6am. No lunch or dinner restaurant on site but not missed with all the great food and drinks just outside the door. Many thanks to Dorian and and all of the super attentive staff who helped make our stay perfect.

Everything was perfect

The location was wondeful, very central within the old walled city. The pool was wonderful, they made me margaritas to order which I was able to ask for via text as the phone up there was broken. I spent a peaceful day up there enjoying the sunshine. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds with massive pillows, powerful A/C and a great ceiling fan. Breakfast was delicious and included a nice menu of local typical foods, fresh juice and wonderful service.

My room did not have any view, for some reason for most of the stay the hot water was not working so I took lukewarm showers. However, I didn't make a complaint and by the end of the stay it was working again.

We stayed in the two-bedroom suite, and it was fantastic. I have absolutely no complaints. The double shower bathroom and walk-in closet were unexpected and a delight. The air conditioning worked very well for such a large suite. I felt that I was in a 5-star resort. My family and friends loved the living room, where we met every night and drank the wine that was given to us. We could walk out to a flowered balcony overlooking the crowds and horse buggies below. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooftop is lovely, both for the view and the pool and the different spots to relax. Cartagena is very hot and lively, so we were grateful to have a few hours of downtime on the roof each day. The location was perfect for exploring the walled city (we felt safe at all times), with many of the top restaurants only minutes walk away. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. It felt like a proper boutique experience. The food we had was all excellent and the breakfast options were very generous. We chose a smaller room, which was well decorated and comfortable. We were especially grateful to have an iron and ironing board (the other hotels we have stayed in over a two week period have not had this). Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hot water in the shower was not always hot.

Location is just perfect if this is your first time in Cartagena.. Staff exceptional, very attentive and great to follow up any requirement. Jorge Luis was great to welcome us., so was the lady waitress on our daily tea time. Overall a great experience.. I would come back next time in town.

It is understandable that being an old XVII century refurbished building some infrastructure is challenged to be fully functional but there are some details that can be fixed such as; toilettes covers, there was no hot water in the shower at 4am … got an early pick up…

Aesthetic and well air conditioned rooms, comfortable bedding, amazing and flexible breakfast every day (plated), extremely helpful staff. We booked most rooms at amarla for a girls trip and had a wonderful time, and found it was super easy walking distance to every club/bar/restaurant we wanted to go to and someone always at the front desk to receive us. Roof top pool and shaded courtyard were essential! The staff went above and beyond while there — one of the rooms had a broken a/c and they were quick to proactively resolve by providing additional lodging for a night at a sister hotel, before fixing it the next day.

Location is amazing but like the rest of the walled city, rooms can be a little bit loud depending on the room! Opt for a room facing the courtyard when available. Prices are a little steep for Cartagena but the property is very boutique/luxurious with the best value breakfast I’ve had in town (after staying in 4 other hotels). Great especially for couples/small groups.

This hotel is stunning. We stayed in the suite and were completely lost for words. You need to stay more than one night here to fully enjoy and appreciate it. Thank you in particular to the staff who accommodated us with an early morning breakfast prior to our departure. Absolutely incredible boutique hotel in the heart of the old town.

The only negative I have to share about this hotel is that the beds are extremely soft. Suggest the hotel adds mattress toppers to firm them up!

The staff was amazing - truly sweet, helpful, professional people. The property is amazing and there are only 6 rooms so you really feel catered to.

The rooms are fine and decorated nicely but probably cheaply. The curtains and rod fell off the wall when we tried to move them and there was a leak in the shower. The property is also located right in the busy part of town so especially during weekend nights it gets loud. We could hear car honking until 3 or 4 in the AM.

This is a beautifully designed small boutique hotel with AMAZING staff and great location Breakfast on the rooftop next to small pool is fabulous 18th century colonial home right in center of walled city but a refuge once you enter I would definitely stay again

Loved my stay There is no lift so you have to be able to climb two flights of stairs A few quirks due to the fact that it’s such an old property, but nothing that would deter from staying there

Gorgeous Boutique hotel in the heart of the old town. So beautifully designed and extremely private. (It felt like we had the place all to ourselves despite the place being fully booked). Extremely secure as the staff are available 24/7 to let you in. Breakfast was delicious and very generous. Our bed was probably the most comfortable I have ever stayed in (and thank goodness for the A/C). Lastly - The staff were so lovely and accommodating. Can’t wait to return!

We loved the rooftop & pool, however it did feel a little tricky to order a drink.
