We had such a pleasant stay at Hotel Kartaxa. We stayed in room 307, which was a bit loud in the morning due to the school behind the hotel, but overall, we slept really well and felt so comfortable in both our room and this beautiful boutique hotel. The best part of our stay was definitely the staff—they were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our best guy was Sergio, who helped us with many inquiries (thank you so much!). Carlos was also great, always greeting us with a smile. The ladies serving breakfast were warm and welcoming, making our mornings even better. The breakfast was just as good as it looked! 10/10—I highly recommend this hotel, and we would definitely stay here again if we return to Cartagena.

It was a bit loud due to noise from outside and the nearby school, but I think that’s generally common in the old town.

Hotel is in a great location right in the center of the walled city. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. The staff was always available and very responsive for all requests. Everything was clean. The property was beautiful, and had a great pool and rooftop space. Breakfast had a lot of options, of which we had many and all were delicious. Great hotel, will return when back in Cartagena.

The stairs were steep, but not unmanageable.

The Hotel Staff was lovely and overall our stay was comfortable. The room was clean and the air conditioning was perfect as we could control it ourselves. Breakfast was pretty good too! All in all Kartaxa was a pleasant place to be for the four nights we were there.

There was a misunderstanding with the pricing of our room. We booked a Superior Double Room, which Booking stated included a seating area. However, our room had no seating area. We were then informed that the price of the Superior Double was due to the diameter of the room rather than the seating area. Which is fine, but it would have been good to know.

The hotel is located in the heart of Cartagena very close to one of the biggest malls and various restaurants/boutique's inside the walls. The hotel staff was very accommodating and service-minded giving a positive attitude and making the experience much better. The pool was small but well-maintained and quite cozy.

It can be a bit noisy during the morning hours. If you're a morning person, this won't bother you at all.

The breakfasts were great. The location was excellent. Very walkable to most sights of interest. Lots of good restaurants nearby. The staff was very helpful. Got us reservations at restaurants that we otherwise would not have gotten into. The rooms were a good size and the bed was comfortable. Hotel interior was beautiful.

Our room was at the back of the hotel backing onto a school ground that became very noisy by 6:30 a.m. every morning. We are early risers so wasn't a huge issue for us, but would have been if we liked to sleep in. The stairs to the third and particularly the fourth floors are extremely steep. There are no elevators.

Everything works here. Room is clean and quiet. Hotel interior is cosy. Check in and check out were fast. Service at the desk fullfilled all our wishes. Sounds easy, doesn it? Of course there is lot of work and effort behind. Well done.

Having fridge instead of bed side table.

The location is great, right next to the fort walls and near all the restaurants and malls. The staff are incredible. They are so helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is incredible! You choose from a menu one dish and it comes with fruit, coffee, bread, and fresh juice. Highly recommended.

The beds are a little stiff.

Friendly and helpful staff. An amazing location location - I think it's in the prettiest part of the walled city, though everything (including Getsemani) is within a ten-minute walk, or so. The entire facility is remarkably clean and the flowers are beautiful! Our visit featured an excellent (with a diversity of offerings) breakfast and ridiculously friendly restaurant staff. Honestly, we preferred this breakfast (food and vibe) to our four-star hotel.

My ratings are based on this hotel's categorization as a three-star facility. It's excellent in that class, which is to say, it's beautiful and tidy but our room was quite small. Not a complaint, just a heads up for fellow travelers. Also, the pool and pool deck are small and cramped. If the pool is your priority, then perhaps look elsewhere.

The hotel is in an excellent location. The rooms are really good sizes. What I loved about it was the bed was big but had a light duvet (not just a sheet!) so I was able to get a great nights sleep. Air con works really well. The staff were lovely and really went over and above for us. We were able to leave our bags for a few days whilst we visited Isla Múcura afterwards. Would highly recommend

The staff was very welcoming, Carlos, Jennifer, and Brayan made sure that our stay was perfect from the beginning until the very end. The breakfast was AMAZING, and the hotel facilities were a 10 out of 10. The location was ideal as we could safely walk through the old city and come back to the hotel without getting lost. It was also close to some great restaurants. I don't think we could have picked a better hotel.
