Room 866 was clean, in good condition and a comfortable size, there was no moldy/damp smell, the air con worked fine it was not noisy or dripping water, the WIFI was excellent, the mini fridge worked and kept our items cold, it did not make any loud noises or disturbing buzzes, it even had a jug of welcome water, which we didn't use because we had our own bottled water. The bathroom was clean, the grout in the bathroom was clean, no mold or damp smells. We got enough toiletries and towels, no need to ask for more. The beds were firm and comfortable, we slept great. Breakfast at Carambola Restaurant was well coordinated, we got 8am seating times and even though we got there a few minutes earlier, we were accommodated. Social distancing and masking by all staff were practiced. There are lots of sinks installed throughout the different areas of the restaurant to allow for frequent hand washing. We had lunch and dinner at the different restaurants on the property and the food was good, we didn't have to wait for service, and the food was always well-presented. The pools were all clean. The kiddies pools were nice but they got crowded on the weekend. Yet the other pools were equally nice for the kids. The Playa Blanca beach has a huge parking lot and they installed temporary showers in the car park to help with the social distancing rules. The permanent bathrooms were also clean and well maintained. There are roped off squares to help beach-goers social distance and keep their social bubbles, but on the weekend it was still very crowded and we saw strangers asking if they could share others' cordoned off space. I have a low tolerance for cigarette smoke and the resort only permits it in designated areas. I never felt bothered by wafts of cigarette smoke at the pools, restaurants and even on the beach. It was so great!!!

We didn't do our homework and wrongly assumed that because it was a resort there would be beach chairs and umbrellas available. We didn't want the hassle of bringing our own furniture and were expecting to at least have the option of renting beach chairs. Playa Blanca has concrete picnic tables and benches close to the restaurant under the trees, but the umbrellas and chairs on the sand were only available for members of the club, which we couldn't rent.

The pools were amazing. The property was much much bigger than anticipated and I was surprised how far the 6 person apartment was away from the facilities like the pools and beach, etc. Playa Blanca was beautiful, tables and chairs were available but we brought our own beach chairs because previous reviews mentioned beach chairs were not available. There was a rip tide so need to be careful. Lifeguards were on duty at both the pools and the beach.Didn't get a chance to play mini golf due to rain. A fallen tree knocked out a pole and internet but it was fixed within a day. Plenty of towels were available in the apartment and cards were given to get towels at the pool.

The beds were not comfortable in the apartment we stayed in 7204. There were only 3 chairs with cushions for 5 people in our group in the living area.

We’ve stayed in Punta Leona before and we were so impressed we went back. The room was spotless. Bathroom impeccable. Gardens we’re well kept and clean. Breakfast was fabulous. Restaurants had great food for lunch and dinner. Kids had a blast!!! Pools were all super clean. The beach, Playa Blanca, was fantastic. We saw soooo many animals: toucans, raccoon, iguanas, a sloth!!!!, red macaws, the butterfly farm, armadillo!!!! Staff everywhere were extremely helpful polite and friendly. We checked out feeling relaxed and de- stressed.

Nothing, wish we stayed longer!

Resort place near two pretty, small beaches. Have to drive or resort shuttle to beaches or long walk. Saw number of scarlet macaws with morning walk on first beach. Enjoyed the butterfly garden. Excellent breakfast buffet - and monkeys came to the area while we ate.

Had to wear a wrist band the entire time (cut off when departed). All the gate accesses felt elitest. I could see a gate for resort specific stuff, but did not like the gate for the road to the area and anorher road gate near the second beach. Maybe I am just not a resort person.

Everyone was very friendly and the food was delicious. We though everything was a very good value for our all inclusive stay. We loved the nature, wildlife, mini golf, and the beaches were fantastic. We brought our fresh snapper back from our fishing tour and the staff even cooked it up for us! The beds were extremely comfortable to sleep in and the room had plenty of space for us.

We loved spending time at Playa Blanca and we would have loved to see the restaurant/bar open for breakfast and dinner. The hotel offered a few fun excursions but we think they could offer even more options such as private catamaran tours, fishing tours, waterfall tours etc. Also, it would be very helpful if they provided shuttle services for the airport and maybe the nearest town where visitors can shop around at some of the local stores. The power went out one night when we had some heavy rain which made the room a bit warm but luckily it came back on around 11:30pm. Lastly, there was minimal hot water and we would have been a bit more comfortable if the hot water was not so limited.

Good location - close to a great beach

No ala cart menu option in restaurant - no opportunity to see the menu before having to pay $25 each - not a pleasant dining experience - we were hoping for a restaurant experience/ this fell well short of that. I wouldn’t eat there again. We also tried the beach restaurant 1st for an evening meal - it closed at 6pm - this was not clear on the website and had a wasted journey- circa 2km drive to beach.

Jario who works in reception, made our trip before we even arrived, his communication and help organising day trips was exceptional customer service and nothing was to much trouble. The resorts location is breath taking, wildlife where ever you look, from beautiful macaws flying freely, racoons, iguanas, monkey's and the list is never ending, it was amazing. The accommodation is very comfortable and cleaned daily. My only concern is the building work, I hate the thought of the resort being overwhelmed by people and high rise hotels, at the moment its a nature watches paradise and I would hate for this to be destroyed.

It was only a little noisy because they are building a spa facility and a new bar area by the pool

Many of the staff were very friendly. The food is great and plentiful. The location is perfect. The Manta Bar is right near the beach. Blanca Playa is even better, a very stunning beach. The Alcohol was great and part of the inclusive. There were all sorts of animals to look at: various birds, iguanas, and butterflies. There is also a laundry service if you can't bring enough clothers. One of the staff, Reiner, was the most rememberable. He was always checking on us and has a very kind demeanor. We love it all and hope to visit again!

The buffet breakfast is excellent. The standard room is small, but the beds are comfortable. It is a 10 minute walk to the main pool. We walked from Playa Manta to Playa Blanca. Beautiful beach good for swimming and snorkeling..Nice restaurant there and picnic tables. Great for birding and wildlife at the resort.

The room is too small
