Reception both upon check-in as well as upon check-out was very friendly and helpful . Good inside bike storage behind the hotel . Walking distance to multiple good restaurants . Room 351 was good sized with comfortable bed . Clean with only one window which would have been a major problem if it were warmer due to lack of ventilation. Bathroom clean with toiletries . Breakfast was quite good with multiple hot and cold food choices . Nice lounge down in lobby area with free coffee ,tea and water as well as beer, wine and soft drinks for purchase day and night .Has an elevator but it truly is the smallest elevator that I have ever seen .

The bathroom had a faint foul musty odor . Could use an update in the near future . Major problem with ventilation - perhaps a fan would have helped

The breakfast is good, properly served and completed by the personnel (breakfast buffet type ) but it is not extraordinary. A decent one! The location, on the other hand, is very good, in the city center, a few hundred meters from the city's central square, where festivals, concerts, etc. take place.

I can't say that there was anything out of order. The first room was small, but the receptionist changed it for us the next day, without paying anything extra. A small negative point was the fact that we could not check out late, although there were plenty of free rooms (I checked on Booking.com). However, they allowed us to stay in the Lobby, possibly drink coffee, until 5:00pm, which was a nice thing. All in all, a white ball and a quality and helpful staff. The only downside was the price, which would have deserved something a little better.

A very warm welcome from Soren in reception and he had outstanding customer service. Clean, comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast food choice. Close walk to the railway station and very close to the main town square and pedestrian shopping street. I would definitely return.

The coffee machines dispense instant coffee, not real coffee. That was the ONLY negative for me.

We loved the style and LOVELY sitting room of the hotel, in an English style with complimentary tea, coffee, snacks and magazines! Very quiet at night, very cosy and also the breakfast was excellent! The staff were super friendly and helped us with a very nice room close to our bikes and a private window with a lot of sun, also we got to park the bikes inside and safely. The hotel helped us with many small requests and the bath was lovely as well! Our room was separate and big, with a very nice queensize bed, and the distance to Esbjerg city centre was very short and just a walk away. We will be back!

Maybe the bathroom floor, with some heat, but it was summer, so it didnt matter. We felt like home and did not want to leave hotel Ansgar! Recommended for families, travelers, businessmen, old couples - and sporty people on stopover like us, for two blissful days in lovely Esbjerg!

We really liked the complimentary glass of wine when we arrived at 5:30 pm after a long day's trip. The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast was good.

We would have enjoyed real glasses in our room and not paper cups also the Internet was unreliable.

Location was a 7-10 min. walk from Train station. Breakfast had a large variety of things to choose from. Coffee and tea are available 24/7. Staff was very friendly.

Shower was a little challenging...no where to put your shampoo and soap...

Really central location. Loved the decor in the main areas of the hotel. Glass of wine in the evening was a great bonus. Breakfast was delicious with loads of different options. Would definitely stay here again.

Finding myself in this delightful small haven of history was wonderful. Hotel Ansgar has maintained its authentic design. There's a strong emphasis on sustainability and protecting the environment. I'll definitely visit again.

Good breakfast, a good place to start tours around the city or to Fanø. The train station is nearby and also a good place for traveling around.

The staff were very friendly, upgraded us to a bigger room and gave restaurant recommendations which weee fabulous. The lounge area is delightful with free tea, coffee and snacks. A nice quiet place to rest.
