The location is perfect with a broad view of the sound between Denmark and Sweden. The grounds are green and well kept, the architecture of the hotel and spa are tasteful and there are ample lounge space inside with comfortable sofa nooks. The rooms are very well and thoughtfully appointed with extremely comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is very good. The hotel has a swimming jetty across the street with several benches on which to sunbathe. The ladders into the water are very securely arranged against slipping. In addition to swimming pleasures, there is also a lot of hiking trails in the forest surrounding the hotel, and bicycles are available. One more bonus: the s-train that links you with downtown Copenhagen is two steps away from the hotel.

The one disappointment was the spa. Our booking came with restricted spa-hours starting at 6PM. That happens to also be the hour when members of the community can use their spa-membership. As a result my experience using the spa was anything but enjoyable. It was crowded, loud, and worst of all, the floors are very slippery. In general crowds were rowdy : I was enjoying the sauna when a couple of teens would crash the Sauna and talk loudly during a piped-in guided meditation setting. My impression: if you want to use the spa it is best to buy a spa-package which allows you to avoid the crowds, but it is pricey.

The breakfast had a good selection and included gluten free alternatives and alternative milks. The food in the brasserie was very good. The selection of wines was vast - from £55 to £14,500 for a bottle! The wine list is definitely worth a read. The spa was incredible - every kind of water jet and treatments you could want for.

There wasn't much around and a lot of the beach front was private so you couldn't really walk for far on the beach. That said the forest that was accessible from the back of the hotel was lovely and we had a great walk one day.

Spacious comfortable room, incredible spa that was so much larger than we expected with so many facilities, ideal for relaxing after a long walk in the stunning nearby countryside. Room service was excellent and breakfast was light and healthy. Lovely view of the sunrise over the sea from our room (102) with a spacious balcony.

It’s not possible to swap damp bathrobes for fresh ones, which seems very odd for a spa hotel and meant we have to use wet robes in the spa each day. The food at brasserie Carl was good, but overpriced compared to food in the city. Pillows could be better quality but bed very comfy.

Simple but well designed. Beautiful location. The spa is amazing and a huge highlight. Would recommend for people that are interested in using the spa, if not there’s no reason to pick this hotel specifically.

The room is quite basic, no real thought to the lighting and doesn’t have a mini fridge, and the breakfast is good but not great - even though the products are organic which is great. The beds in the rooms + sheets + towels were fantastic.

The trains passing by cause quite some noise, so either need to sleep with earplugs or waking up during night. Would it be possible to consider installing more sound proof windows in the future for the rooms facing the railway? Another noise issue: Both of the nights I was there, I heard some strange noise of furniture being moved or similar at around 3am. Quite peculiar that it happened at the same time of the night both nights. Due to the same time both nights, and the sounds also being the same and in the same sequence both nights, I was wondering if this noise could be caused by some automatic/timer controlled mechanical parts of the ventilation or similar? Perhaps is it possible to tune it to avoid noise during the night?

Spa was amazing with various options and also spotless. We've tried one of the best peppermint tea ever. Breakfast buffet was out of this world, so was the bed & the pillows. Everyone at the reception was so lovely as well. I felt it was a bit unorganised, as we got there earlier so we purchased a spa pass from 1pm instead of the one 6pm, that it was included. We were told we will be getting our bathrobes at 3 pm, when the check in will be completed, however the same bathrobes were in the spa area ( we were told they were reserved) and we had to walk thru the lobby, up to the reception wrapped in towels, only to realise we didn't have them in our rooms either. This was afterwards resolved l, but I feel it was such a mess for something that could've been done differently, given the fact that the booking was fully paid in advance, so we weren't going anywhere but the spa with these famous bathrobes

Spa is beautiful and diversified. Location next to the sea is pretty Brasserie Carl is stylish and overall good - Quality of breakfast excellent with limited choice Rooms are modern and clean

Staff could have been more proactive (explaining that you have to register for parking without me asking on day 2) and knowledgeable. Experience in the lobby bar medium (red wine at 5°C including cork, food order took very long) Felt a little ripped off when switching for brunch on Sunday for a surcharge of 35€ per person (already paid for breakfast) when brunch is essentially the same like the breakfast, just 2 hours after... Beds for me personally too soft

The food selection available in the bar was rather restricted. Even though the restaurant appeared almost empty we were asked to wait about an hour for a table. I'm sure they could have squeezed in two hungry guests

Absolutely everything was likeable! The hotel was spotlessly clean, staff provided great service and were also very friendly yet professional. The spa included so much variety. The breakfast buffet included everything you could think of. The beach is right across the road with a lovely setup. Even rooms just 1 floor up such as mine with a courtyard view, actually include a sea view too, which was a fantastic surprise!

Being asked by recepctionist to pay a deposit that was not mentioned earlier. It was difficult to explain that I do not have a credit card. Short opening hours of the spa and additional catchy charges for using the spa in the morning, as a result we did not get to use this amenity (which I paid for by choosing a more expensive room).
