Room was clean, bed made well and very quiet (didn’t hear the neighbors at all (bonus). Bath Towels were worn. Shower Head great, tub worn with ugly caulk job but it all worked! Water pressure just right for the shower, the sink was a disappointing trickle of water. Check in was the worst: lackluster, very little eye contact, lack of energy & enthusiasm, communication was purely the essentials…either a bad day (which she should be able to hide for the few minutes interacting with a customer) or she’s a bad hire…I’m hoping she was having a bad day. Set my expectations for a bad stay…luckily it wasn’t.

Excellent value. Easy on off I-95. Pet friendly without exorbitant up-charges. Lots of lawn for puppy walks. Hot breakfast included. Comfy beds. Clean, well maintained older accommodations. Receptive accommodating staff. IGA Grocery store and Mobil fuel station across the road. Excellent seafood restaurant Captain’s Quarters next door (closed Sun/Mon). This is a stop I look forward to each time I travel I-95 between NY & FL twice a year. This hotel consistently meets my needs, expectations, and budget. Oh, and I see people enjoying the outdoor pool 💦.

No complaints.

Great location for us when we're traveling up and down the east coast. A reliable, clean, comfortable room with good restaurants nearby. Close to the highway and inexpensive. We've been staying here for several years on our trips and we're always happy with it.

No freezer compartment in the fridge. I like to re-freeze my ice packs but had to use ice from the machine. It melts and makes a soggy mess of the inside of my cooler bags. Not the biggest problem to have but inconvenient.

Our room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. The raised toilet and grab bars were great, (handicap equipped room), which is important to us. The two young women at the desk when we checked in were very welcoming and all smiles. They offered us cookies and wished us a good night. Breakfast was good, just no decaf coffee which is what my wife drinks.

Just that there wasn’t decaf coffee at breakfast. Everything was great.

We are traveling to Florida more often and Santee, SC is about half way there. The hotel is just off I95 and by the time we get there we are cranky and ready to rest (coming or going). There's a very nice restaurant right next door. Unfortunately they are closed in Monday but the meals are very good.

What's not to like?

Ease of securing a room. Ease of access from I95. Ease of checking in. Clean accommodation. Friendliness of staff. Excellent woman that handled the breakfast area, very personable, kept area clean and well stocked - have traveled a lot through the years and she truly impressed us - made you feel so welcomed!

Older facility that could use some updating.

Breakfast staff is helpful and friendly.always cheerful ! Beautiful pool but once heats off too cold. End of May still cold. The desk staff is very nice and willing to help you!

Our room was clean but the carpet really needs to go . Stayed in other rooms that were fine. Their fridges always clean and they work!

Everything except the bathroom.

The bathroom. It was sure not handicap friendly. I'm 92 years old and had a terrible time getting into and out of the tub (which you must do in order to shower.) The bathroom itself was unusually small. I know people who would not be able to fit in it at all. Not a good experience.

We arrived at the Santa BW much earlier than anticipated. We inquired as to whether or not it might be possible to cancel the Santee reservation and have a new BW res made several hours down the road. The clerk was extremely obliging and changed the reservation with not hassle and no charge. Great service@

This was our second stay at the Best Western Santee. It's very convenient to I-95 with food available nearby. It is exceptionally clean, like really exceptionally clean. The staff are very nice and provided us with a nice list of nearby places for grabbing dinner and they have a free breakfast in the morning. Also, for checkout you can just leave the key in the room and leave and not make a stop at the desk which saves time getting back on the road. We had a car full of stuff so it was very nice to be able to park right in front of our room instead of in some dark parking lot. There is a nice restaurant right at the motel for dinner which made it very easy. The food, however, was nothing special. I had shrimp and grits and it was totally overwhelmed by the idea that everything is better with bacon and the shrimp were wrapped with huge pieces of very over smoked bacon, and the grits were obviously just microwaved on a plate. I wouldn't bother to eat there again.

The bathroom was showing its age. Although it was super clean it was just old and needed renovation. And the bed in this room seemed to be exceptionally high. I'm not a short person at 5'6' and I had to jump and fling myself onto the bed. If you were shorter or less agile you'd need to ask for a step stool to get up into bed. Also, the same complaint as last time about the shortage of non-sports TV stations.
