Location was great. Igloo itself was amazing. Breakfast was just something to eat. Staff was friendly.

Igloo using rules could've been more clear before the booking or even after the booking. In some point the lock of the door stoped working. Expected some steps from the boat bridge to the Igloo.

Beautiful view and great activities. We asked to have the igloo at the front which meant we had an uninterrupted view which was amazing. We liked being able to eat at the guesthouse and the friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast was also a bonus. The children in the family that run this property were a lot of fun and very friendly. The staff were helpful and kind.

It was a little difficult to drag our bags through the snow to the igloo. When we left they had cleared the snow more which was helpful. The bathrooms were not quite at the level you’d expect when paying this much for accommodation. They were not very clean and were run down. The shower was also cold on our first morning but it was 7am so it may not have heated up yet. Our second morning had a warm shower. When we checked in we didn’t get a warm welcome from the young person checking us in or clear instructions on things like where the showers were. We arrived at 7:30pm so this may have been due to it being busy. Everyone else was very kind!

We had an excellent and memorable stay at Arctic Guesthouse and Igloos - we got engaged here and I couldn’t have asked for a better location. The staff were so helpful when my fiancée was organising the proposal, especially Ella. We booked a husky ride through them and it was amazing with beautiful scenery. The location is fairly remote which was great for us with nice walks nearby but only 5-10 min walk to the nearest supermarket etc. We also visited the zoo which is about 5 mins in a taxi or 40 mins walking. The breakfast was also great and plentiful and the room was comfortable. We also used the sauna and since it was just us it was private. I would recommend anyone to stay here in Ranua and it is much less touristy and more authentic than Rovaniemi. We are already excited to come back amd thank all the staff for an amazing trip!

Perfect location on the way from Kuopio to Äkäslompolo, and the place was so nice with beautiful winter around that it was a pity we did not have time to stop for a longer stay in Ranua. The B&B was in a beautiful location and very cosy, having a charm of the old Finnish wooden farms. The rooms had fridge, microwave and water kettle so it was easy to carry an own supper along. The beds were comfortable and the home made breakfast tasty, staff super friendly. There would have been many possibilities for day tours and day activities with local guides, which we unfortunately did not have time for. Maybe the next time…

The staff was so helpful, cheerful and they go beyond the expectations to help their guests with anything they need. They have a decent sauna, wood fire grill house you can use to do your BBQ and warm up, extra activities provider who gives authentic experiences in a very reasonable prices. I recommend it for Solo/Couple/Group of friends and family travelers. I cant wait to go back again with all my friends! We had a nice Igloo experience.

Old building. No kitchen in the room.

Clean, comfortable and charming. perfect distance from the bus station and from the zoo. in fact much less crowded than Rovaniemi with all of the same winter activities. Ranua is a precious little hideaway and this place is perfect to explore the Finnish Lapland. The breakfast is great and the staff is very friendly and warm - always helpful even with small special requests. Do check out their cozy sauna - it is so comforting after a long day’s activities.

We were there in February and had a wonderful time. The rooms are nice, the surroundings are great and there are many activities on offer. We did a husky tour across the frozen lake in winter and were able to see the Northern Lights every night. It's a family atmosphere, far away from tourism. Absolutely recommended!

We stayed in an AuroraHut glass igloo. Our child slept on an extra mattress so the setup with a full floor was a bit different from what it would have been with only my partner. The igloo is well-equipped and there is a comfortable bed with amazing view to different directions to the lake. What makes it very special is to get to go driving the igloo on the lake when the weather is good enough. The bay is ideal for that as it is peaceful and feels safe and there is not much other traffic on the water! Breakfast was ok and there were enough options to choose from.

We had booked for three but the extra mattress wasn't yet in our igloo and we had to ask for it separately. It would be good to have a written guide text to steering the igloo in addition to getting the instructions live from the staff.

It was so special, we used the sauna facilities they were a great experience. The staff were so friendly and made us very comfortable. We were taken out onto the lake overnright and we were so extremely lucky to witness the Aurora 🥰 couldnt recommend this place enough.! Hope we get to visit again.we also has to leave early so they made up a breakfast to go for us which was full of choice.
