The room was clean, and although it was basic and utilitarian, it has the things that mattered -- shower, safe (with a small deposit for the key), linens and towels, a sliding door to a "balcony" (no patio, just a view out the back). The included breakfasts at the attached ME Restaurant were delicious and generous! The location wasn't bad. It is walking distance from the heart of the Zona Dorada but not so close that loud noise and party atmosphere invades the space. There are several restaurants as well as a mall in close walking distance. Although we did not have an ocean view, we did have a view over the lagoon out back which was nice. In short: basic, no-nonsense accommodations in a resort area. Most of the staff was helpful, just one who seemed to not want to interact with us. One or two staff members spoke good English -- the others were willing to do their best with our limited Spanish, Google translate, and gestures.

The tunnel to the beach was very sketchy -- dark, smelly, scary. We didn't use it, which meant instead crossing the street on foot, which during peak traffic hours was sometimes challenging. (The beach itself was beachy keen.) We didn't love the beds -- wish we had been able to get a queen bed instead of two doubles, and the mattresses and pillows were too hard.

The hotel is conveniently located between Centro Historico and Zona Dorada. It takes about 15min to get to Zona Dorada on foot and Centro can be reached by bus, there’s a bus stop right outside the hotel. I really enjoyed the pool, the water is heated which is important taking into consideration Mazatlan’s weather in autumn and winter. The place is fairly quiet at night. There’s a tunnel that takes you to the beach directly from the hotel. During my stay, the vast majority of guests were Mexican families with children, Mazatlan as such seems to be particularly popular amongst Mexican families. If you’re looking for a party, pool scene or beach clubs, better go to Playa del Carmen.

The staff really went above and beyond to assist my kids and I during our stay. They were understanding and compassionate and I really can't thank them enough.

They definitely need a rotating continental breakfast menu. The kids were tired if scrambled eggs by day 3 and refused to eat them by day 5. Rooms were the old school dark style with little natural light, but still the great staff made up for any small technicalities illustrating how important customer service is bc we would still stay here versus a newer hotel in the same price range.

This was our second stay and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Our room had a nice view of the ocean, a large shower, and comfortable bed. Breakfast was wonderful- we enjoyed Jorge (he pronounces it Georgy)

There was nothing we didn’t like!

Staff congenial. Helped us with our problem. Good ocean and sunset view. Beds good. Breakfast good. Pool excellent, heated for weekend. Gym ok. Glad it was there Minimum machines, but ok. No free weghts..

First room had overwhelming chemical smells, apparently from remodel one floor down. Staff moved us up. Better. Burger at snack bar not good, as if cook had never had one.

Everything was great 👌

The only thing that I didn't like about the room was that the restroom has very steep steps right before entering and my elderly mother struggled to go up them, so I ended up going with her every time to help her up.

Location great, pet friendly. Wonderful pool!

Wish we had hand towels and small face cloths. Also, wish the bottled water had been fully replenished. We had 1 partial and only received another full one. Also wish they had hand trolleys available to bring our luggage up to room.

Breakfast was good. Several options & great view. The room with a “partial view” was really stunning to me! 5th floor so I could see it great. Seemed like limited parking. But painters were there so maybe they took up spaces.

No WIFI!!!! Seems they advertise it and then just tell you the service is down. The pool was decent. Lots to do and see around the hotel. Mazatlán is just too big for my liking!! And it seemed there weren’t many dogs. Guess I’m used to Sayulita!

Amazing infinity pool overlooking the ocean! The room was very comfortable and the little balcony was a nice touch. Great to let the ocean breeze in! Beds were comfortable. Onsite parking was great and check in was a breeze. The breakfast buffet in the morning was excellent and great added value!

The linens on the bed were short so a little hard to fully cover yourself.
