The location was a huge bonus. I really appreciated being close to the heart of the city (and only a short taxi ride to and from the train station.) The staff was extremely accommodating. I especially appreciated Anais and Estelle (the two young women I had the most interaction with). They went above and beyond to help and provide information. They were also really pleasant. I also appreciated being able to check out a little later and hold my luggage at the desk. The cleaning staff that I encountered was also very friendly. I had a lovely talk with Manon. I really liked the quality of the food in the dining room. I was very tired the first night and the host was very helpful and accommodating. The gazpacho soup was superb! The express petit-dejeuner was also very good.

When I first arrived, I had to return to the desk multiple times to ask questions--first because I wasn't familiar with using the key card to turn on lights in my room. I also wasn't quite sure how to adjust the temperature. Since I just checked in, it would have been helpful to provide a little information, i.e., inform me about the key card, even give me some info about the dining room, its hours, and the breakfast (express vs. regular).

The staff were warm and attentive and dinner and breakfast were delicious. It was clear that this hotel cares about quality ingredients and attention to detail. Parking was convenient and the grounds of the hotel were pretty.

Although our room was perfectly comfortable, I would have preferred a more sympathetic and gentle decoration style instead of bright rainbow colored trim with LCD lights in a very modern, boxy room. The room style jarred a little with the beautiful historic French exterior of the hotel.... But that's just a taste preference, not a criticism.

We had chosen the hotel as is not to far from the station and when we arrived we found lovely hotel with a really good view over Angouleme. The dinner we had was excellent as were the breakfasts. There is a really good underground carpark under the hotel which made parking with Bikes on the car very safe.

Staff was very friendly, helpful, and effective. Laundry service was finished and returned the same day.

Laundry lost one pair of women's underwear. Light above the bathroom mirror was out, hindering makeup application. It was reported to the front desk and repair attempts were quickly made. Unfortunately the problem could not be addressed merely by replacing the light bulb, so it could not be addressed during our visit.

Central location

The car park, there’s a good entrance to the car park, but getting out is difficult if you have an SUV, we damaged a wheel as you have to go down a spiral loop which is too small for large cars. We were about an inch from damaging the bodywork of the car.

We were particularly pleased with the restaurant ,the service and quality of food. To find a restaurant open on a Sunday night in France is not always easy - but the restaurant was open and very well used with a most welcoming atmosphere. The food was very good indeed - particularly the Jerusalem Artichoke soup with mushrooms and scallops.

Excellent location. Easy walk to tourist and shopping areas. Very courteous and helpful staff. Agnes, Estelle,and Sarah at front reception. Gregory and Tristan at the restaurant need special mention for their hospitality, care and value for customer requirements

Breakfast spread needs to have some more variety. Same since last 3 years that I regularly visit. Room service needs to cater for more drinking water. Only one bottle a day. The spread of tea sachets could include other varieties. Housekeeping staff have been very courteous and accommodative of requirements.

welcoming and friendly staff, rooms stylish and spacious with lovely views over the town. we only stayed one night but could of definitely stayed longer! we found the glass panes in the wall leading to the bathroom highly entertaining and the lighting is atmospheric :) there is a secure underground car park with plenty of space and the hotel is perfectly located for exploring beautiful Angoulême old town. The bar is also super comfortable, we were served some delicious champagne and I would like to know the name of it please, I think it was Havant? please confirm as I would like to order a large case!

none, everything was lovely. the door handles require extra care to close quietly but that’s it!

Comfortable room, great gardens, excellent location, helpful staff. Restaurant high quality and reasonable price for set menu. Happy to stay here again.

Fridge in room not completely clean. High cost of breakfast. Not very good tea and coffee facilities in room. Paper cups not ideal, not a lot of tea bags or coffee sachets.

Hotel in old city center. The hotel is in a historic building. Nice terras to take the breakfast and a garden with nice panoramic view of the city. We made a nice city walking tour. Guided by a map offered by the reception. The city seems famous as the capital of comics. Many building walls had designs of comics. The hotel has its own underground parking.
