Very comfortable bed in a nice big room with a small balcony and fridge/minibar, excellent food (half board), friendly helpful staff, great warm jacuzzi/swimming pool. Lovely views from the dining room and outside pool areas. Free shuttle bus into and back from the town (but not on Sunday afternoons).

It’s a long way uphill from the town and you need to preorder your taxi if there isn’t a shuttle bus, particularly if arriving by train. We did walk back once (up about 200 steps) but wouldn’t recommend doing it!

I don't know what else anyone could ask from a hotel. The location is beautiful, breakfast super complete, the service and personnel very helpful and kind, great swimming pool, very comfortable beds. Just top of the tops and I'd go back in a heartbeat. Thank you to everyone who made our stay there a most wonderful memory.

We first visited Banyuls nearly 50 years ago: and have visited many times since. It is a favourite part of France for us. We discovered Le Catalan about ten years ago and their position in Haut Banyuls is perfect. I had wanted to celebrate my birthday in style: and did! A view down over the small town and harbour, an exemplary meal prepared by a skilled chef. Thank you, Le Catalan. You delivered.

The curved nature of the corridor outside our room is a bit like the whispering gallery in St Pauls. It picks up every sound and amplifies it. But the excellent food and wine sorted the problem......We slept well.

The staff were lovely and friendly and could not have been more professional. The room was clean and the views are to die for. The restaurant food was delicious. Easy to park.

The signage to the hotel is not great. The central areas need a lot of tlc and updating and the gym floor is cold, dark and dangerous. There was also a dirty pool that will obviously be used on season but was dank and smelly.

Sea view, staff gentle and professional, the atmosphere of the hotel, really nice located if you like to give a walk to the centre.there are alot of cats around and some of them are playful. I enjoyed a lot the garden in front and behind.

Matress a bit hard, I would have preferred a soft one. Saw a walking insect on the bed sheet when leaving the room. Glad did not happened during the night. I understand is in the middle of the nature and it could be normal but maybe there could be some products to be used to keep them away. Not sure if might came fron the wooden closet. Would keep an eye on it!

We really loved this hotel. The views from the room were spectacular, the pool area is lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. The mattress was firm and very comfy and the room was great. There was a huge selection at breakfast and, holy moly, if you're a cheese fan, the cheese trolley at dinner was insanely good.

If you're coming by public transport, the hotel is a good 20-30 minute walk from the train station and the last bit is up a lot of steep steps, so you need to be nimble and pack light. However, the views and the hotel are worth it.

The receptionist, Claire, was without doubt, exceptional! Helpful, possessive of a keen sense of humour. Fluent in many languages.Bed and pillows excellent quality. Showers first rate.

The evening meal set menu wasn't good and didn't possess a vegetarian option. Too much offal.

Nice room. Good sea view but quite interrupted

The noise from the road made it impossible to get any quietness. The recycling bins were emptied both morning at 6am. These issues are out of the hotels control. The drains were very smelly both in the hotel and around the town.

The first good impression was a friendly receptionist. The unusual curved design of the building was interesting. Since we had a mini suite on the seaward side with a balcony, a 100 percent relaxation was the result. The dining area was large and curved, where the buffet type breakfast was available, and allowed for perfect overall views of Banyuls s. Mer. The breakfast was comprehensive. A set dinner was available, which is best described as aspiring 'Michelin star'.

The view from the outside eating area was superb. The room had everything you could need including shampoo, shower gel and a hairdryer. There was a stocked fridge with drinks you could purchase. The breakfast had a vast range of choice including cereal, different breads, as well as fruit, nuts, yoghurts, jams, eggs, cold meats and bacon. Plus of course a choice of hot drinks and juices.
