*Please note- we used our daughter's booking account, thus the guests were John & Sharon...not Cassandra. Beautiful and unique accommodations. The main lobby/breakfast area was breathtaking. We've never had a candlelit breakfast before...that was special. Conveniently located. The room (Clairvaux) was spacious and comfortable. The food and breakfast staff were excellent.

Unfortunately, our first impression was not good. It was hard to identify the hotel entry door as the door was locked (approx. 6 pm). We rang the bell and the front desk representative (male) answered the door and was clearly annoyed. He was not welcoming at all!! This was disappointing since we specifically chose to go to Bourgogne vs Bordeaux because of your hotel (found it on line). Also, we could not get into the pool area...as our keys did not work? Our time there was limited, so we didn't ask for help. Overall it was a great experience...as the morning staff and accommodations were top notch.

The property is an old property XII century with an amazing reception/ breakfast room with spectacular voltage ceilings So having breakfast there is a must as the bedrooms aren’t as old looking!! Nice friendly hotel

The bathroom aren’t easy to put things down as the sink is a standing up sink The old wardrobe was locked so I could not hang up my clothes The bedrooms are ok what makes the hotel special is the reception room and service

The hotel is absolutely charming, within a beautifully maintained ancient building. It was spotlessly clean and the bathrooms and toiletries (Clarins!) were particularly appreciated. In a central but quiet location, plenty of lovely restaurants can be found nearby.

The spiral staircase up the the bedrooms was certainly steep, although as long as you're fit enough, it is charming and full of character. Breakfast was a bit of a guessing-game as there was no menu and the staff did not reveal what was available unless specifically asked, eg yoghurt, bread, grapefruit juice.

Very atmospheric little hotel ; with entrance into a turreted stairwell down to a vaulted reception/bar/restaurant. The bed was so comfortable, crisp and white bed linen; the room felt (and was) clean and sumptuous. Luxurious Claris products in bathroom.

It was perfect for us. There’s no parking, but on road parking is plentiful and cheap. Was not aware of a lift and the stairwell is steep and spiral so may not suit everyone.

The hotel is stunning, interesting building with a lovely lounge area. The room was great, we had a 2 bedroom suite for ourselves and 2 kids and it was superb. We all slept incredibly well. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, but not very generous; you need to keep asking for food. But this might be a space issue as the dining hall is small. I love that they light candles when you arrive for breakfast., the dining area is stunning.

I wasn’t keen on the swimming pool area, it’s a dark dingy room and doesn’t smell good. I considered the breakfast to be small, although my family of boys are big eaters.

Amazing hotel in an old converted abbey. Really well done with beautiful rooms throughout. Staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough to help...even take heavy luggage up and down the tight staircase.

Don’t like using the word ‘unique’ as it’s overused and therefore meaningless but this place is! Also impressed with the breakfast quality and the bed linen and towels. And receptionists - especially the blonde this morning who offered to post my letter AND use some Scotch on it! thank you!

nothing- though we thought a tapestry rug might have been more in keeping with the 12th century ambiance rather than an animal skin…..but that’s a personal thing.

Great location, historic lobby area

It is not especially comfortable. A very steep walk up spiral stairs- 3 floors to get to to Room and then more stairs in room. Everything a bit off. No light above sink in bathroom, closet can’t open. Bedding is skimpy. Not enough outlets etc

The overall welcome and staff were excellent. The location was superb enabling us to see the beautiful town of Beaune literally on the doorstep. The Italian Bathroom we had in our room! The cistern arches downstairs. Finally, breakfast was superb!

The stairs would put off people with disabilities especially in the room we had on a split floor. Bigger (wider) steps in the room would feel safer to go up and down. But these are minor details as it’s hard to fault such a unique establishment.

Amazing staff who were easy to email and helped with dinner reservations (including dietary restrictions) and a great wine tour rec (Safari Tours! Amazing!) - they made this the best customer service I have ever had at any hotel!!!

I loved everything! My friend opted out of breakfast -
