We were pleasantly surprised by this lovely hotel. It is well-located for a visitor to Calvi, close to the train station, port, and tourist sites. The decor is modern. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The woman who worked at the reception desk was extremely helpful and kind.

It was a bit noisy at night due to a jovial group at a bar across from the hotel.

We were especially delighted with the staff…the concierge Maria was extremely helpful in assisting us with locating parking nearby and plans for our travel next day. We liked everything about the hotel. Amazing view of the marina from the dining room! Fantastic location on the main center where restaurants and shops were prevalent.

We were in the room by the elevator and some guests were not considerate of the time.

Great location. Centre of town, overlooking the harbour. Lovely communal area, great breakfast. Staff very helpful and answered our questions.

Parking can be booked via hotel, nearest is at the Station. It's 100m walk to the hotel so no big problem. We were travelling with our bicycles and Hotel were able to accommodate secure storage.

Kind staff, location in the very center, beautiful views from the room. Thanks to Ms Maria for her help with my child's lost toy.

The hotel is in a very crowdy pedestrian area with no vehicle access. The only available parkings (we paid 20 euros for half a day) were about 2-3 minutes away.

We loved the location, right in the center of the old town and close to beaches and historic sights. The staff were very helpful, especially Maria, who was there when we checked in, and helped us every way she could. The view from our room was great, and there were lots of restaurant options nearby.

Maintenance at this hotel seemed to be poor. One of the outlets by the bed didn't work, causing our computer not to get charged when it should have. Also, a light fixture over the sink was not working. (You'd think they would have noticed on their own!) The safe had an unusual design, and there were no instructions. The breakfast seemed minimal, and was not worth the cost (but there was a great breakfast place just down the street).

The building itself is a bit older though well maintained. Our room door was hard to close, so we had to really force it to close and it was a bit loud when we did.

Hotel Balanea is a lovely, central located hotel right on the marina. The bars, restaurants and shops are right on the hotel's doorstep so you have everything close by. You are only a 5 minute walkaway from the train station - perfect if you don't have a car with you. The hotel owner is lovely and gave us a free upgrade - so our room was large, beautifully decorated & had a balcony overlooking the marina. We had enough space for 2 people with 2 suitcases, there was enough storage space for our clothes too. All the people working at the hotel are really lovely, friendly, kind and helpful. We were sad to say goodbye. Hopefully we will meet again in the future.

So many steep steps. But we were warned . Also, not at all reachable by car. Not sure if that was mentioned in the description

Clean and stylish and comfortable

Nothing, but it would be nice to know ahead that the hotel is located in a pedestrian zone that cars can’t get to. And also given address or location ahead of arrival for parking.

Location, near to EVERYTHING. THE HELPFUL STAFF, the room with little balcony was enjoyable watching the activities.

It gets loud late into the night, ear plugs can help. The A/C was only a fan not fully operational so we opened the balcony door for cool air & got MOSQUITOES bites!
