The host - Sandrine - welcomed us with a list of recommended restaurants - hours before we arrived - and then helped making a reservation to a wonderful restaurant nearby the location (all of this without us talking a word in French...). She was amazing and turned the whole experience to an even better one! She even welcomed us with wine and treats for a birthday toast. Breakfast was very rich, fresh and exceeded our expectations. It was served in their amazing kitchen which was inspirational, friendly, and so welcoming. We simply loved it!

We enjoyed being on a working farm with fabulous views of the countryside. The breakfast was wonderful, home made cake and jams, local bread and croissants and some delicious local cheese. We had a small fridge in our room which was great to hold water and drinks. Our hosts gave us ice for our drinks and plates and cutlery for our picnic supper on the second evening having managed to get us a table in the local very good restaurant on our first night. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Old farmhouse from the 18th century in a small village (silence guaranteed!) with ample parking space in the walled front. Very spacious room with similar bathroom and a view of both the courtyard at the front and the garden with swimming pool at the back and the meadows behind it. The room was equipped with a refrigerator that quickly reached low temperatures. I was offered a Belgian craft beer on the house and a delicious salad was prepared for dinner with a nice glass of red wine. Excellent breakfast with a very wide choice in a huge kitchen.

Everything was more than excellent.

The host was very lovely, made us a generous delicious breakfast with homemade banana bread and freshly squeezed orange juice, among other tasty local things. Everything was super clean, and tastefully decorated with boho/farmhouse/industrial elements. The view from the room is great, overlooking a large green field where you hear birds singing. A really please experience in a quiet location. I would highly recommend.

Our stay was very nice : a very comfy and quiet place to take rest and enjoy the main places and villages around the house. The hosts are very nice and the breakfast is amazing

It was a shame the WiFi didn't seem to work in our room. But everything else was perfect!

La Gouronerie provides beautiful accommodation, impeccably clean and very tastefully decorated. I don’t know what the host, Sandrine, uses in her wash, but the bedding and towels smell devine. Sandrine is incredibly friendly and provides an amazing breakfast, candlelit with soft background music; the most perfect start to the day. We will definitely be back and would actually take a serious detour on our travels north or south through France to make sure that’s possible. And by the way, Sandrine gave us some cake to help us on our way, which was homemade, delicious and devoured with coffee on route to Calais! What a gem.

We loved everything about La Gouronerie and if we could have rated it 12 out of 10 we would!! From the second we arrived and the welcome by Sandrine and her daughter to the point at which we had to leave….it was an absolute delight. The room was immaculate, spacious, beautifully decorated with all the bits and pieces that you need…and more. The pool looked stunning but we arrived too late unfortunately, to enjoy a swim… note to self for our next visit!! As for the breakfast, the table was laid out in the most beautiful kitchen I have ever seen, with relaxing music and candles on the table, with a spread that would cater for anybody’s taste…..the custard flan was amazing!! Don’t change a thing and we’ll be back!
