Location, overall space, facilities, staff. Close to restaurants.

They didn't tell us that there is a free shuttle bus to the Dinan centre. The walk up to centre was steep!

Nice and recently renovated hotel in the port of Dinan with a wonderful outdoor pool (with heated warer) and jacuzzi. Please note that the port area is another center of Dinan in addition to the old town area, which are equally nice. It is also worth to stay in the port area as it is also full of good restaurants. The hotel has a spacious and accessible free private parking lot, where it was easy to park even with a minivan.

Although we pre-paid for the rooms a couple of months before arrival and dinner was not available in this Mercure location (for which we could have spent any money), an amout of EUR 60 per room per night (a total of EUR 360 in our case) was blocked on our credit card as a security deposit, which was not yet released even two days after departure (when this evaluation is prepared). This is an unneccessary and unfair practice.

Quick and polite receptionist. She switched easily into English when my poor french failed me. Free parking for guests in private carpark. Amazing location right on the harbour, 5 minutes walk from historic harbour, viaduct, restaurants. There was a small outdoor swimming pool open 9-9 and a gym room. The room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was a nice size with a good shower. Refillable soap and shower gel/shampoo dispensers (which smelled really nice). They explained that the were getting rid of plastic so there was a cold water dispenser in the corridor which was a really good idea so we could refill our personal water bottles. It was nice and quiet at night.

Two small things (very small): 1) there is a thin voile curtain in the room and I couldn't tell if people could see in at night if the room lights were on. Also light comes in at dawn. 2) the fan in that bathroom (which I know is important to have) was quite loud in the bedroom and I couldn't find a way to turn it off so if you are a light sleeper, earplugs would probably be helpful.

The location was very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel was reasonably quiet. The staff was very pleasant, and the breakfast was great!. Parking was convenient. The bar area was quite comfortable.

This is the second hotel in this chain I have stayed in, and both are over-rated as 4 star. A nice 3 star, yes, but the room amenities are not 4 stars. Maybe the spa and other amenities are, I didn't use those facilities. The room was rather warm, and the only way to cool it off was to open the window. which, by the way, had no black out drapes. Only sheers. This was March and not that warm....

Location: Awesome, the view was spectacular; Room: the size of the room was good. Breakfast: good produce, refined; it was abundent. Cleanliness: it was good; The staff was really nice, friendly and helpful. The message of best wishes for 2024 was really touching and thoughtful.

In the restaurant room, because of the carpet, I felt discomfort as my allergies were acting up because of acarids and dust mite that were in the carpet. (note: it was only in this place and not in the room). We would have also loved to have a sort of WC brush to clean the toilet as sometimes it turned out to be quite difficult to do it without the tool. The ratio snack price was a bit higher especially for the dish Chicken Curry with bulgur: I only had 3 tiny pieces of meat for 13€ in a small glass jar that was probably in total 300gr. Other than that, it was great!

Lovely room with good storage and pleasant, private terrace with table and two chairs, overlooking swimming pool. Buffet breakfast was excellent with good choice of foods, including lovely breads, pastries, croissants as well as cold meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and juices,bacon, scambled egg etc.

More parasols at poolside. Admittedly we didn't ask for them so there may have been many more available and as the weather was very hot, and not windy, it was a shame they weren't put out to give shelter. There is no longer a restaurant for evening meals (we had been to the hotel twice before when it was not owned by Mercure. There are plenty of places to eat in the delightful "Port" area, within two minutes walk, and more in the town, so it is not a problem.

Nicely designed room with a larger bathroom ( without a bath) which we preferred. Sheltered terrace near the pool. Great sound and light proofing. Breakfast was superb, both in choice and quality. Really great terrace where you could enjoy a drink overlooking the canal. It’s so close to the medieval old centre of Dinan which is the backdrop to this hotel.

No comfortable chairs in the room. Just one hard chair at the desk. I feel couples are always penalised by most hotels - only one gets a comfy chair ( and sometimes not even that) whilst the other has to stuff pillows behind their backs to sit up on the bed. Not great. Bar meals were limited and nothing local or French on the menu. Shame.

Perfect location down in the port. Excellent parking behind the hotel. Hotel restaurant not open on Monday night but that was not a problem as plenty of options to eat 5 minutes walk away. Good sized room. Good aircon. Nice large shower.

One English Breakfast teabag was not enough for two people! Cardboard cups good for the environment but not good for tea or coffee. Water not available in the room. It was available down the corridor in a chilled dispenser which is a good idea, but a notice to that effect in the room would have been helpful.

We love the location of this welcoming hotel right down in the port with restaurants and bars just a few steps away - although we do enjoy an apéro in the hotel’s comfy bar too. It’s about a 15 minute walk up a cobbled hill to the main town so good shoes are a must! Staff could not be more helpful and friendly. Rooms are airy and comfortable, many with balcony or terrace and the breakfast is delicious - although I confess I really missed the raspberry and pistachio croissants! Please bring them back as they were a real signature item to crown a great stay!

The hotel was clean and comfortable but our room reminded me of a Premier inn room so it lacked atmosphere. The location was excellent, a few minutes from many good restaurants and a steep walk up to the old town. We enjoyed our stay.

One very small thing that we found irritating was the light in the hall was motion sensitive so kept turning itself on but there was nothing really to complain about.
