We stayed here last year en route back to the UK and loved it so we came back en route home again. Had a different room this time which had a large wood panelled bedroom, overlooking the back gardens with a TV that has BBC News 24 as well as the French channels. The bathroom had a decent bath plus an enormous separate shower enclosure. Then we discovered there was also a large dressing room with loads of hangers. Last year the restaurant was shut on the evening we arrived (so they'd booked us into Le Patio - recommended) but it was open this time and we had the most delicious meal and breakfast was as good as last time. The gardens are still lovely so you can have drinks or coffee/tea outside and they've clearly redecorated the outside of the ground floor since we last stayed.
Nothing - we loved it again!

Quirky belle époque maison de maître within 19th centrury fort. Beautiful, characterful bedroom with enormous art deco bathroom and comfortable bed. Excellent value restaurant, which is obviously highly regarded by locals. Friendly and helpful staff. Bookable EV charging point in covered parking area. Plenty of on road parking too.
The building is tired in places. Our bathroom had some very indiscreet fabric covering the windows and the windows were draughty. Access through the narrow roads in the fort was a tricky. Montreuil itself is fairly run down.

The chateau is located opposite the historic citadelle and just a few minutes walk from the centre of town. The hotel has beautiful gardens with a terrace to sit and read or enjoy a drink. The restaurant is modern and well appointed and has a good menu with good quality food. Our room was quirky with a huge bedroom with amazing plasterwork details on the walls. The bathroom was enormous with similarly amazing features. The bed was the most comfortable we'd slept in on our 10 days trip.
The property could do with some investment eg the shutters need updating but we absolutely loved it.

It is a very good HĂ´tel , parking opposite the hotel is great and free , wifi is good , lovely gardens.
We arrived on Whit Monday 9th June everything was closed , the kitchen and the bar at hotel were closed on Monday and Tuesday. The town was dead!! We didn’t know anything about it, sadly.

The Breakfast was outstanding. The room we had was beautiful, and with a balcony you could be in Vienna. The town itself was a 5 minute walk, with plenty of bars and restaurants available. The staff were ever so friendly and welcoming. The only thing I would say, which isn't a negative to the property, if fact the opposite is the picture on Booking.com doesn't do this property justice.
absolutely nothing. we couldn't fault this place in any way.

We've stayed in Montreuil many times but never stayed here, normally we stay with our children but never really considered the chateau but as we were staying sans kids we thought we'd give the chateau a go. I have to say it's now my favourite hotel in Montreuil, we've now stayed in 7 places, excepting maison 76 and the goyser which is pretty new. We were lucky enough to be upgraded (without asking) and the room was an absolute cracker, the views were spectacular, the way it was furnished was really done with some charm and style. Young, friendly efficient staff all speaking good English, although patiently putting up with me practising my extremely poor French. All in all I really can't fault the hotel, we didn't eat in the evening but the breakfast was excellent, local cheeses, even offering a cooked brekkie which isn't always offered in hotels in France.
Nothing really.

It was a while ago now but I think the breakfast offered a good range of choices, the food was very flavoursome and the location of our table with a view of the gardens was excellent.
Again it was a while back but I seem to recall that you did not offer any cooked breakfast eg eggs. That would be welcome too.

We had not visited the Chateau de Montreuil since it changed ownership and left the Relais and Chateaux group, so were not entirely sure what to expect. The outside space looks as if serious attention has been paid to the gardens, full of relaxed people enjoying a drink in the benign sunshine. The pool is no more, the space occupied by an elegant events room (the chateau is making a serious push for the wedding market). Inside, all the flounces have gone, replaced by a serene, modern and comfortable aesthetic in the bedrooms; and a discreetly salacious theme in the dining rooms - look carefully at the photo mosaics on the walls. The kitchen knows what it’s doing and produces elegant, modern takes on classic ingredients: we ate two dinners and were well pleased with both. The wine list is extensive and the charming sommeliere may have further choices up her sleeve. Breakfast is a delicious spread of breads, pastries, yoghourts, fruits, cheeses etc, with eggs for those who have the appetite after the previous night’s dinner and excellent locally-made jams and fruit juice. None of this is cheap but it does represent fair value for money. Over the two nights we were there, guests were split evenly between French and English. The staff were high morale, good humoured and keen to please, with notably cheerful chambermaids.
Be careful what floor your room is on if you have difficulties with stairs - the website is very clear about this.

The building and setting were fantastic. Our rooms were in a garden extension. They suited our requirement for mobility impaired access
The paths were a little uneven and difficult for my friend

Very pleasant place with a good restaurant
The lady who greeted me on reception was a little grumpy and there was no parking available at first. I found a space outside 30 mins later so it wasn't an issue in the end
