The welcome on arrival was friendly and the assistant carried our big bag up 2 flights of stairs for us. The bedroom was beautiful and very clean. The breakfast was plentiful with a good selection including scrambled eggs and small sausages.

We didn't like being on the second floor as there were lots of steep steps. However the hotel was full and we were a last minute booking so it was acceptable. The toilet cubicle was very small and the loo was very low. It was not very nice to use and had no natural light. The ramp up to the entrance is very uneven and has spikey plants overgrowing from big pots. It is very unsuitable for a wheelchair user. It really does need to be demolished and a modern one put in.

The staff were lovely. Breakfast had lots of choice and had a nice scrambled eggs. The room was a little dark.

I was there in winter but I suspect carpet in room must be too hot in summer. The toilet in my room was a bit noisy.

It was quaint, spotless, excellent breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. We were made to feel very special. Will definitely return.

Would have been nice to have access to coffee/tea, but it did not spoil our experience at all.

Very friendly staff, and the food was very nice. Cosy boutique hotel.

The rooms were dated and not ideal for business travel. My particular room had only one power socket, and no desk area to plug in my computer and work. There is no air conditioning, so you have to open the doors and be exposed to bugs flying into the room.

What I liked best was the curb appeal, it was the quintessential french boutique hotel. Now there was a disconnect from the interior, mainly the rooms.

The hotel needed a serious interior upgrade. All the carpets were thick and brown and stained and needed to be replaced urgently. The fixtures and furniture were all mismatched and some were old.

The restaurant was great

The room was small and on the second floor. When we asked to be moved the receptionist claimed they were full. We never saw more than 5 others for meals . The parking was very always. Metered parking bout the nearest meter did not work. There was free parking but it was 400 yards away . There are no bars in la Bailey and restaurants are sparse. A lovely place but dead as a dodo in September!
