A super new hotel/ appartment/ hostle facility right at the center of Lille. The place is very clean and well organized with all the necessary equipments : kitchen with microwave, stove, cooking utensils; washing and drying machine; toilet and bathroom are well kept. The bed is spaceous and comfortable. The security is at top level especially for the luggage storage. The staff are nice and hospitable. I arrived a bit later than their closing hour but they stayed to welcome me. The location is perfect : next to the metro station, the train and long distance bus station, near city center with a lot of choices for restaurants and near all tourist attractions.

The area outside is noisy at night as it is close to the train/bus/metro station.

This hostel is absolutely amazing. It is managed by the same people who manage an appart hotel upstairs and they really take care of it. Everything is new and the cleanliness is legendary. The beds settings is a masterpiece, in fact, it's almost like having a tiny, separate room more than just a bed. The receptionist was amazingly kind.

The hostel would receive 10/10, but there are a few major flaws. The first thing is that the reception is open from 6:30am, but before my arrival I received information that it was open from 8am which bothered me a little. At my arrival, the other receptionist was extremely reserved and I didn't feel welcome at all. There isn't any toilet available before checking in. The hostel uses a deposit method which was very uncomfortable for me - they blocked 100 euro on my card and it was released only 2 weeks later. They say the time span is the bank's fault, but it's clearly their choice to use this method instead of other possibilities which other hostels use.

It was generally clean, the staff were nice and the bed was comfier than expected. Great location, close to most things and easy to walk everywhere.

A few small things could be done to make the stay more pleasant. For example the bathroom had no paper towels or dryer, and could’ve used bath mats for the showers. The wifi system was a drag and if you didn’t use your device you’d get logged out and constantly have to reenter your password, a locked wifi with a general password might work better. And lastly the kettle needs replacing, it’s got a lot of lime scale. These are actually all minor issues that could easily be fixed, otherwise my stay was good.

- Really close to both the main train stations and right in the centre of Lille - The capsule-like bed was extremely comfortable and felt nice and private due to the curtain and wooden panels. Had two types of reading light, plenty of charging ports and a shelf for items too - Locker was provided and was nice and big. A code or padlock is provided for you. - The common area had a small kitchen and fridge - The bathroom was always clean and the showers were brilliant. The shower cubicle was also nice and spacious - The staff were very friendly and helpful - Luggage storage available - Wifi was fast

- While location is good generally, the actual street it is on is a bit loud, could hear shouting all the time and smell cigarettes. - The €100 deposit seems a bit excessive and is generally just an annoyance.

The beds were excellent - very private with a good quality curtain, comfortable, quiet and spacious. The beds had a power point and USB recharging. Each bed had a main light and a small spot for reading, plus shelving. Each person gets a really large locker, just bring your own lock. The dorms, bathrooms and kitchen/shared area are modern, and were thoroughly cleaned every day. The shared area had plenty of seats and tables, a kettle, toaster, stove top, microwave and refrigerator where you could label and put your food. Plus plenty of cupboard space and a TV. The location is right opposite Lille Flandres Station. So central! 24hour access with your own door code. The Wifi is good. - The staff were so nice, very friendly and helpful.

Not a problem, but note that all the dorms, bathrooms and kitchen shared area are in the basement so there are no windows with views, just translucent clerestory windows, but there is also good air con. There can be some street noise noticeable in the dorms during the evening. However, there is a lovely quiet and comfortable room on the ground floor with natural light, where you can go and sit anytime and where breakfast is also served.

The staff was very helpful and nice and the sleeping quarters were really comfortable. Furthermore, I liked that there was where you charge your phone in the sleeping quarter and that soap and towels were provided. I also really liked that I could lock up my luggage so close to my bed! There was a kitchenette area that allowed people to easily prepare their own meals, should they have wanted to do so.

The area outside the hostel was a little shady at night, and sometimes, you could hear people conversing (and even fighting) till quite late into the night! I was told by friends that it's due to its proximity to the train station, but it was still something to keep in mind.

The room was nice. Spacious lockers with shelves and a very spacious bunk bed. The curtain allows for a lot of privacy. The hostel is in the basement but the kitchen and common area is still comfortable. Everyone is very respectful and it is very quiet. Showers have a private "room" and felt clean. The staff was welcoming and helpful.

It is not the best hostel to meet people if solo traveling. Even when there are 4 people in the common area, no one talks and there is only silence. Another thing is washing/drying clothes which is a bit expensive (9,5€ for a single washing and drying) and it takes an absurd amount of time (+5h!).

Beds were comfortable and big, it was clean and it's cool to have kitchen to make your own food. Staff was very nice. It's near or railway station which was nice cause had to leave early!

It was noisiest room I have been cause there is vent straight to the street and somehow people liked to talk and yell in that street and even smell of cigarettes came to room. You should make some noise/smell blocker to that. One morning I had to wake up 5 am and I got to sleep 2 am cause that noise outside!!! Also you need hairdrier to bathroom and paper towels to restroom cause after washing hands there was nothing to dry..

The location is incredible. Literally within 3 mins walk from the station Falndres. The staff is extremely friendly. The room is spacious with a curtain (very nice for privacy). The shower room and toilets are always kept clean. The kitchen has pretty much all you need for basic cooking. (Also microwave!)

I stayed in a male 6-bed dorm and the noise from outside was unfortunately very loud. If you are a light sleeper, you should be aware and prepared for that. Also, there was a mosquito in my room so I didn't sleep well, unfortunately. Though they provided an anti-mosquito plug thingy it didn't work.

After initially being hesitant to book a hostel as maybe getting too old for the room sharing game, Calm Appart' hotel exceeded my expectations. The beds were private capsule style bunks, closed off with a curtain and with their own light, storage and plug sockets (regular and USB). Super comfy mattress and a proper duvet, warm and comfortable. The bathrooms were stylish and modern, divided into cubicles with a shower and sink in each, they even had soap dispensers. Nice kitchen/dining/sofa area with everything you'd need to make a quick meal. The whole hostel was clean and well organised, and the staff were friendly and helpful, even letting me practice my terrible French pronunciation. Overall, if you're a solo traveller of any age, I would absolutely recommend Calm Appart' Hotel for a safe and comfortable stay.
