Beautiful setting and fantastically restored by the owners. We had a lovely tour of the building, gardens and workshops. There is beautiful artwork all over the house and it is decorated and furnished in keeping with the age and style of the building. We loved it. The owners are so friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is fabulous with pastries, yoghurts, fruit from their garden, bread and home made jams. We even had a package of pastries for our trip. I would love to go back. Exceptional.

The chateau was beautiful and full of character and history in the middle of lovely old vineyards and a couple of miles from the Dordogne river. A sheltered walled garden to sit in and take breakfast in the summer. The breakfast was absolutely delicious served in great style with silver tea and coffee pot. Home made jams and huge pastries. Very comfy enormous bedroom and modern shower. Lots of details like fresh flowers in our room made it all very special. The owners booked us a delicious dinner in the village on the riverside and were so kind helping us with the computer too. The owners were charming and kind. We loved it.

Breakfast as per expectations (bread, jams, yogurts, fruit, pastries) could have been improved with the addition maybe of some Ham and or Cheese

Breakfast was amazing. Croissants and bread were fresh and delicious. Hot chocolate was served as hot carafe of milk with hot container of melted chocolate which we combined. Delicious. Also ample fresh fruit and yogurt. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. Location is quiet and serene, and only 5 min from the wedding which we attended.

Everything about the Chateau Mejean was to like. The room, the breakfast, the owners, the ambience. I very much enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay again. The apricot jam at breakfast was divine and made by the owner. Despite my luggage restrictions I bought a jar to take with me!

I cannot think of anything I did not like. I wish I was there longer!

breakfast was amazing, beautiful setting in the court yard of the chateau with homemade jams and fresh bread. The hosts were utterly lovely, very welcoming and made our stay perfect. we had the junior suite which was nice a big, clean with a classic French decor. The bathroom was modern and had a great shower. They provided a cot for our daughter which was perfect too.

the only 2 things that don’t make this place a 10. 1. A pool, this would’ve been amazing for the hot temperatures of French summer. 2. it was rather hot in the room so AC would’ve been great but I understand that not cheap to run so it’s okay

Genevieve & Pierre-Marie Rousseau are the most wonderful hosts. Everything was superb, stylish and of the best quality. The grounds are peaceful and beautifully managed.We even had a tour of Pierre’s amazing workshop. I stupidly left something in our room and Genevieve contacted me immediately so I could pick it up on my return journey.

We didn't stay long enough!

Pierre and Genevieve were the most wonderful hosts. They were extremely warm and welcoming and by the time we left they felt like family...The room was lovely and the view was spectacular. Breakfast in the morning in the beautiful courtyard was a wonderful way to start the day and there are a couple of very good restaurants within 5 mins drive in lovely locations by the river. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic property. Wonderful location. Peace and quiet. Lovely hosts. Approx 2 km from local village with restaurant.

A traditional and old chateau with need of constant TLC, though all timely well kept.

The staff were super friendly and went out of their way to do everything they could to support us and make sure we had a great stay! They even dropped us at the wedding we were attending when our taxi didn't arrive. And an added bonus was the breakfast was delicious!
