Situated in the town of Menton, the location was excellent - right on a busy high street, not that you’d know as the noise never reached your room. You are in easy walking distance of the beaches, shops, restaurants, train station and the old town; it couldn’t have been better located. The room, although relatively small, was ample and the bed was super comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was cleaned and spruced up daily.

The walls were a tad thin which meant you could hear your neighbours talking. It wasn’t really a problem and except for one morning where ours were chatting loudly from 5:30am, we weren’t troubled unduly by noise.

The staff was amazing... And that is A word that I almost never use. The cleaning staff and catering were really friendly. I don't think we ever experienced this in this way. We could ask them for anything and they tried to help us with it. At Check-in we were also provided with the info needed and in such a nice way. Also the owner did really make and effort to make us feel at home and showed interest. We got the same treatment as all the hotel guests, so that was really refreshing. My daughter's did not want to leave without giving the Staff a small token of our appreciation, so that says it all. The location is also perfect: enough restaurants and supermarkets in the area and it's a 5 minute walk to the beach. The hotel is located in a busy street, but with the balcony door closed (and airco on offcourse) you don't even hear it.

The only thing I can think of is that there is no parking and because we traveled with a van we could not park in the garage the hotel has an agreement with, because the parking was not high enough. But that's only a problem when travelling with a van (max = 1.81m), so if you travel by car you can disregard this. A lot of restaurants around the corner, but a few of them closed at 19.00 which I find very strange for such a touristic place.

The room was a minimum size that was comfortable. There was a window that opened, could see the city, hear the church bells, There was a rail outside- and no wind- so we could dry our socks outside. Two beds, a bathroom and a television. The bare minimum. And, all those stairs! In order to minimize Jet Lag and improve your health (and your appearance for all those photos you are going to be in)! Tiny hotel, sight hall. Fortunately, they had an elevator, but it broke on the day we were due to leave. But, the staff brought out bags down the stairs for us. We were located at the end of the hall where the housekeepers loudly found their items, laundry, cleaning supplies...

Great little hotel in the middle of everything. Not sure what another guest was complaining about - if you want big rooms and no noise, go stay in a best western! Like why would you travel in Europe and complain about old buildings? Breakfast was pretty light so if you’re obsessed with that meal maybe not the place for you. The staff were great and the owner was incredibly nice. No complaints here :-)

The room was clean and had an ensuite shower-wc - there was no noise coming from the outside - quiet area. The location is very good near the old town and the restaurants. The reception is on the first floor but there's a lift.

No box of tissues - no shower gel (bring your own) although the hotel provides small bar of soap. I could hear the people next door talking as they were seating on my (they were talking very loud)- I did have a good night sleep but coud hear the other room leaving in the morning - my advice bring some ear plugs.

The area of the hotel was so beautiful! The hotel itself is small yet very functional and the staff was very friendly. They let you keep your bags there pre and post checkout and the lift was broken for one day but the front desk man asked to help us with our bags which was very sweet. The room itself was large and the bed was very comfortable. The high ceilings made the room airy and the window opened creating more airflow. Great stay- too bad we only stayed one night as we were traveling the coast.

Close to the beach and the old town, restaurants, shops... good sized rooms, very clean

I booked a room with a balcony listed in the description, but it turned out I should have written in my special requsts that I wanted a balcony. Also, if you want a quite room, make sure you ask for it because this option is possible. The rooms with a street view are a little bit noisy because the hotel is located in a busy street. This hotel does not have a parking. You can use e.g. a nearby underground multi storey parking for 12€ or hope to find a free space in nearby streets.

Location in the heart of Menton. Many of parking lots nearby, also some free parking if you can grab it. Close to all shops, pedestrian zone, restaurants, a grocery store very close. Walk two blocks to the beach. We parked our car in the Hotel de Ville lot for 3 days and walked everywhere. The Staff - from check-in to housekeeping - were very friendly & helpful.

If you have never stayed in the heart of Menton - you will be suprised to see how extremely clean the streets & pedestrian zones are. Just as a fair warning - the street cleaning crews hit the streets every morning - early - to scrub & powerwash the sidewalks. This might disturd you if you are a sound sleeper. With the windows closed - the room was quiet.

The building is beautiful, I’ve stayed here three times now and I love it there-the staff and management are excellent and I always have a fantastic time

The shower is a little small, I’m a big bloke and there not a lot of room for me but it’s definitely not the worst-that’ll be Hotel Tournerie, in Menton. Never again.

High ceilings so small room didn't feel stuffy. Cold aircon for late spring-early summer. Staff was friendly and smily, especially the cleaning lady. The gentleman at the reception was helpful and did his job perfectly though he might seem a little slow.

My room was next to the stairs so noise from people's footsteps were really present and annoying. I had to use earplugs. Bed (mattres) was okay but pillows were not. The hotel was old but well cared for, though there was some dust here and there, which actually could have been cleaned (like at the windows, ..). One suggestion to the hotel: please update the Menton-Monaco/Nice bus schedule that you send to clients- that's the 2017 version and no longer works. There's been a new one since 2021.
