Warm welcome by Bill and Maria. Tranquil location on the River Loire. Super supper served up by hosts.

Area to access river views is just soil and I’ve seen pictures posted from other reviewers two years ago that show it hasn’t changed. Means mud and soil is walked into the property. Once guests leave the table after breakfast, used crockery and cutlery should be removed and not left to clutter the table. Had to wait until 7 pm for hot water to come on. Seemed strange that at 6.50 pm water is barely warm whereas at 7 pm it’s piping hot. Room seemed a bit damp and it was cold on arrival. Luckily there was a small fan heater in a cupboard that we used.

This was a unique experience; a lovely opportunity to spend a night in a historic Chateau on the banks of The Loire, still owned as the original family home. The reception rooms were marvellous as they retained numerous heirlooms: furniture and family portraits. Particularly notable were the murals in the breakfast room where we enjoyed the company of some other guests; the breakfast itself was just right for us. I had awoken to the song of a cuckoo in the woodlands nearby.....

No significant concerns

The hosts were wonderful. Very kind and helpful. We were lucky that dinner with wine was offered that night. We were called that day to see if we were interested in eating there. The dining room is beautiful, and the other guests were very friendly and interesting. The food was delicious, and the setting was elegant but very comfortable. The drive to Chateau Chambord was short. This experience was like spending the night at the beautiful home of friends. We highly recommend this property if you are visiting the chateaux in the Loire Valley. Breakfast was also wonderful.

Nothing could be better.

The breakfast was wonderful! The managers tried to make our stay most wonderful with the utmost caring hearts. Breakfast was great each morning. The maid service was exceptional. Thank you all for the greatest honeymoon/anniversary stay!

The backyard needs to be landscaped so guests could sit by the water and enjoy a glass of wine. The shower head needs to be mounted onto the wall for better bathing...the tub was slippery and needed a bath mat to prevent falling. It would have been helpful to know that they had drinks available before we arrived. It would have saved us spending time shopping. It needs to be posted.

It was great to spend a night in a chateau overlooking the Loire. The place is beautifully preserved with lots of interesting historical features. Host and hostess Bill and Maria were very welcoming. Our room was excellent: a large bedroom with view over the river and a sitting room adjacent to it. We enjoyed a very good breakfast in a room with beautiful paintings. We highly recommend this place.

Fabulous property in a quiet setting overlooking the Loire River. The pictures online do not do it justice. The owner greeted us and made us feel at home. Beautiful public rooms and lots of history. We had dinner in a beautiful dining room while looking at the Loire River, a very special memory. Great breakfast. They had a nice place to park our bikes overnight. It was very special to stay in this historical chateau and we didn't want to leave. I highly recommend staying here!

it is easy to get to with exceptional view of the Loire. because we were there two nights we had a huge room, unfortunately not the one facing the river view, but after our plat du jour we enjoyed the view from the terrace. do order the plat du jour giving the owner one days notice so that she can buy and bake/prepare a lovely plat du jour. on Mondays not many restaurants open nearby and a perfect French evening meal at the château makes a lovely time there. we slept for up to ten hours a night on our first holiday for three years. easy and lovely walks by the river. we had a filling, freshly prepared breakfast/petit dejeuner. I don’t normally post photos but the view in the evening is to be shared.

Lovely couple running the place; super friendly and welcoming. Great choice of breakfast items and good quality etc. (Be aware that you eat together at a big dining table.) I think its also important to remember this is and 18th century chateau - so not a super slick, modern building etc. Very impressive none the less !

The breakfast was great - we got to sit with other guests and chat, which was nice. The property is literally on the River Loire, which was a lovely surprise. It was really relaxing sitting and listening to the birds and the water.

there were too many mozzies (mosquitoes) and i got badly bitten. there was no air conditioning, so we needed the window open to get cool. apart from that it was lovely.

Nice little chateau near Chambord. The hosts were very kind. Our room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable and the bath modern and clean. If you have ever dreamt of staying in a cute little palace, this is your place. Breakfast was offered in a cute little breakfast room and was delicious. We had eggs, cheese, croissants, cereals and a fruit salad for each person.
