A great location very easy to reach from the motorway. An imposing classic appearance reached via a tree-lined drive and extensive grounds to walk in including their own forest. Nice rooms and a fantastic restaurant, and a bar with a good range of drinks including two draft beers (Leffe Blonde and a local pale hoppy beer). I stayed here in 2008, it’s still as good as before, having been refurbished about 5 years ago. It’s an ideal place to stop over en route to the south, about 6 hours from Calais and much less than that from Caen or St Malo.

Nothing to criticise. The pool doesn’t open until May but it was unseasonably cold for April and too cold to swim anyway.

Pool was very nice and beautiful surroundings.

We arrived at Midday - after a 6 hour journey in very hot conditions -we went to check in and the Male member of staff was quite rude making it very clear that it was far to early to check in, we asked if we could use the pool and he said no there was people having lunch - not sure why this would affect us using the pool. Luckily we did not see him for the rest of our stay and the rest of the staff were great.

The only adverse comment we have is that the meal portions at dinner were perhaps too large for older patrons. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities at the hotel are excellent and we would recommend it to anybody wishing to have a restful few days and a most enjoyable break.

As outlined above the only comment which we have to make is that while the quality of the food provided and the service excellent the portion size for older patrons was, for us at least, too large. This would probably noy be seen as a problem by younger patrons. Will we be back? we very much hope so !!

Good was superb, service excellent. This was our second visit and it was as good as before.

However, I booked a ground floor room in January as I have a small disability (breathing problems) and find stairs difficult. 5 days prior to our stay I had an email to say they had to move me to to a first floor room as they had a booking from someone with a wheelchair. We didn’t actually see anyone using a wheelchair though it might not have been in the public areas. We were disappointed in this action as my booking had been made so far in advance. Sadly we will not revisit this establishment because of this decision.

A lovely hotel in great location for the traveller, and great for pets. Set in large grounds backing onto a forest but within a few minutes of the motorway. The restaurant is first class, we are on the terrace overlooking the grounds. The food and service was excellent. The majority of guests were French and very smartly dressed.

Our only negative is the fact that the room did not have air conditioning, and it was 34C during the day! We would recommend this hotel to the traveller who wants more than just a quick overnight stay.

Lovely setting close to the motorway though extremely quiet. Set in acres of land that would give opportunity for woodland walks. The hotel grounds have a lovely long drive and grassed area perfect for playing with our dog. The rooms are comfortable and well furnished. The staff pleasant and food delicious. The restaurant is very good and breakfast superb. You can take your dog into the restaurant and for breakfast in the morning.

Nothing.

Very handy for the autoroute, easy to find, ample parking, staff pleasant, room well equipped and clean if a little cramped. Bed very comfortable. Bar area quite swish. Restaurant bright comfortable and airy and the food was good if a bit pricy. Don't eat breakfast so no opinion there. Would return and recommend to others

Kettle and tea/coffee provided but no milk except powdered. No hot water in the morning but given a 13% discount for a plumbing failure the was being fixed as we checked out. These things happen, I guess. Filet steak was the smallest I've ever been served - at 36€ felt a bit cheated.

A superb chateau and outstanding restaurant, small but comfortable room and pleasant staff. It has a large garden with pool and outside furniture. It appeared to be very welcoming of dogs.

I would recommend a full length mirror in the bath or bed room. Worst thing about this hotel is that unless you are over 6 foot you cannot reach the towel rail to access your fresh towels. Anyone of 5 foot 7 inches or under has to stand on the toilet to reach them. A problem I have never come across in any other establishment!! Very odd.

Location was excellent and a beautiful venue. Family room in the attic area was very hot (early July) and bed was reasonably comfortable, but sadly didn't have the best night's sleep. Swimming pool and outside area was stunning.

Attic beds were under eaves so couldn't sit up in bed, and very hot up there, but otherwise pretty nice rooms.

As usual, Domaine de Valaudran did not disappoint. This is our favourite and first choice for a night stop en route to/from the South of France. Lovely big room with a/c and very comfortable beds. Delicious dinner which never disappoints and friendly staff. Breakfast adequate, good coffee, croissant, nice bread, confiture etc. what more do you need? Will return again next year and big bonus that they are dog friendly.

Nothing. We had no complaints.
