The Moulin du Pont d'Alzon is a place full of character that I will always remember. Madam was so kind and she prepared me an abundant breakfast with fruit, homemade jam, and fresh products every morning. You won't find a place like this anywhere else, it is like going back into the 1920s in a house full of memories and stories to tell. You can also relax in the property's garden with the sound of birds and nature around you. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Location with parking. Nice and clean room and warm communication

It was really what we expected, excellent location, nice, clean and warm place, and the owner is so kind. So happy to pass several days there.

If you ONLY speak French and like the idea of staying in an old lady’s uniquely decorated and quaint ex-mill home, then this is for you ! Sophie was very amenable to ensuring our stay was pleasant and somehow we managed to communicate with each other (we only speak English) by using a lot of mime actions which of course added to the adventure. Breakfast was plentiful and we slept well in a comfortable bed.

Finding the dwelling was very difficult - there was no street number and no name outside, so though at one stage we were outside the gate, we had no idea it was our booking. Fortunately a walker up the road assisted us and actually took us back to the address after phoning the owner for directions. The picture on the site is now overgrown and behind the closed gate wasn’t recognisable to us.

Location was a long way out of town

The property did not have their name displayed nor exact address on booking. It took over an hour to find after getting someone to call and request directions. Also property is built over a pond so mosquitos are an issue. Bedrooms are inside grannys house. Not ideal.

The historical context of the place, it was like a time warp.

The whole place is filled with bookshelves, that makes curious, and invites inspection. To our immense shock, we found the shelves littered with reading material with extreme rightwing content. Right in our faces, next to our pillows, Le Pen and other fascist croonies? Elsewhere, a photograph of Maréchal Pétain? We fled this contaminated place two days early, and are still horrified thinking back. Booking.com should head prior warnings by guests before us, who mentioned their discomfort about the flagrant presence of the host’s political views and sympathies. They should not be visible to paying guests staying over.
