Newly refurbished. Great beach front location

Not quite finished yet. TV, WiFi didn’t work which wasn’t a big deal for us.

The hotel has its own beach. The beach is wide, clean, beautiful. There are big pools, sufficient number of sunbeds. The staff is usually very friendly. The rooms are newly renovated. The daily cleaning was perfect. We appreciated that there was no continuously loud music. The performances in the afternoon and evening were entertaining. The breakfast is more than enough. The dinner is delicious. The safeguards ensured safe rest at the beach.

We have asked 2 cards to the rooms but it was refused. Why only one card is provided? On the 3rd evening of our stay we received a scary text that we have to pay immediately otherwise there will be consequences. At our arrival we were told to pay at leave. So we run down and asked if we missed any information or request. It turned out that a guest left the hotel without payment and they thought that a threatening, scary message will ensure the payments... There is no bank card reader, so the finance staff uses the bank card with the bank card number, security code etc. to pay.

Although we had to change hotels at the last minute, I was very happy with the alternative hotel at Kalimba hotel. The hotel is stunning and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Local to Seni Gambia which was perfect.

I think they could have more options for vegans during breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner.

The new renovations have turned a dated hotel into a stylish place to stay with greater emphasis on the sea view. The staff are friendly and very good at what they do.

The staff were very helpful in sorting out issues when we arrived. Great location on the beach. Good variety of food and excellent egg and hot food station at breakfast

The hotel was not ready or building completed when we arrived. Bathrooms needed work to stop the leakage all over the bedroom. To be fair, they got on it straight away but this involved workmen in our room and cutting stone with an angle grinder in our room spraying dust over everything- typical Gambian response. They moved us to another room on request. We were not informed to expect building work or hotel completion during our stay but this also meant other facilities were not ready at the start of the holiday eg tv and sport coverage and this took a few days to get this sorted.

Room was 2star and not what we paid for

Kombo Beach Resort left me utterly frustrated with its abysmal service. The beef cheese panini, a mythical creation that arrived after an agonizing 45-minute wait, proved to be a cruel joke as it lacked the promised beef, turning it into a mere cheese sandwich. The room cleaning was a comedy of errors, with the shampoo playing a game of hide and seek on random days. The mosquito situation was akin to an apocalyptic insect invasion, thanks to the two giant triangle holes on the window, essentially offering mosquitoes VIP access to a blood buffet. As if that weren't enough, the high-speed Wi-Fi was a phantom, haunting my dreams of connectivity, going on a rebellious strike for days and engaging in a constant, frustrating dance of connecting and disconnecting. It felt like battling a digital poltergeist. In the face of these nuisances, my resilience prevailed, and I salvaged some enjoyment, perhaps out of sheer determination or a newfound appreciation for chaos.

Toilet was leaking since the day I moved in. Room 355 in block C had several issues: missing do not disturb sign, TV not working, AC caused problems (last night only). The overall cleanliness of the house was poor: trash bin in the middle of the floor for several hours. Paper and empty plastic bottles in the entrance hall. Dirt stains. Management is struggling with the communication and the compensation for the inconveniences: a lot of empty promises. Unbelievable: I tried to speak to the front office manager for three days. A room change was only offered after three days. I refused because the alternative was in the same building. I was able to launch a complaint to the general manager. He was professional and friendly and I got a free dinner. Sadly I won’t come back.
