We stayed at Stadthotel for two nights on our recent visit to Gengenbach and we are so happy we chose this hotel! The room was very comfortable and the reception staff could not have been nicer. The breakfast offered many choices, and the staff remembered our preference on our second morning. The location is just outside the old town wall and very convenient. We would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting this charming town in the Black Forest of Germany.

We liked everything about this hotel!

We had a lovely stay in this fabulous town. We stayed 2 nights in the junior suite, which was a nice large room if a little dated. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. We were served fresh eggs of our choice and a big pot of tea or coffee. The staff were very friendly and we had excellent service.

The only thing we didn’t like was there was no tea or coffee making facilities, but there was a fridge with drinks in.

The location was perfect for our short visit. It was an easy walk to the historic city center. We were able to park our car in front of the hotel for free. The breakfast was excellent and included a lot of choices.

It was very hot during our visit. I knew the rooms weren't air conditioned so that wasn't a surprise. The room finally cooled down after dinner when we opened the windows. A fan or two in the room would have been greatly appreciated.

A beautiful property, it’s got spacious and clean rooms. The staff too is extremely hospitable and kind. It doesn’t have an elevator but the staff is willing to help carry your bags up if you need them to. The breakfast has decent enough options for vegetarians so that was a plus! The hotel is just a 3-5 minute walk from the main old town square, local shops and restaurants so the location is perfect.

I wish they had an electric tea kettle in the room so we could have some tea/coffee at all times especially when it’s cold outside! While the location is great from the town square it’s a bit far from the Gengenbach train station. A 10-15 minute walk from the station isn’t very convenient if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues, but if that can be managed somehow then great.

There was a nice selection of things for breakfast, and an egg cooked to order was offered. There is a lovely common area on the 2nd level of the building, nice place to just sit and relax. The staff were very helpful in providing directions for the use of the elevator - a little quirky, but explained very clearly

In room 5 (and maybe in others) there is a metal strip at the threshold of the bathroom that sticks up above the level of the floors in the bedroom and the bathroom. It is a painful to step on, so one has to be careful not to step on it when entering or exiting the bathroom.

Spotless, comfortable room, plenty of wardrobe space, wonderful German style breakfast (amazing boiled eggs) lovely staff. Everything about the room and breakfast and the whole building says “quality”. Location is nice and quiet too. In particular the lady in the breakfast room and the lady cleaning our room were so friendly and cheerful.

It’s a bit of a trek from the station

Excellent overnight stay. Plenty of free parking. No bar or restaurant but each room had a mini bar which was well stocked and not over priced. Easy walking distance to the town centre. Lovely big room which was light and airy. Well equipped bathroom and very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast service. Highly recommended.

Nothing to dislike.

1. Peaceful and quiet 2. Staff are friendly, helpful, warm and accommodating 3. I arrived Genenbach late, after 9pm. As i could not pull my luggages on cobblestones paved roads, the hotel offers Simon to pick me up at the station. When checking out, Christy also sent me to the station with her car. I was grateful for their great help indeed. 4. Wifi speed is fast, even sending whatapps video files. 5. Enjoyed my breakfast in their backyard. 6. Great value with money

It would be useful if i could connect with the whatapps call.

Everything was perfect, the room cleaned every day, the host couple extremely warm, the husband dropped us off to the station early morning at 7.30am, declined to charge us even though we offered Sumptuous breakfast Would recommend to any visitor to Gengenbach

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel. All the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. The room was well sized and clean. Breakfast was good. Hotel was well located within 5 minutes walk to the centre of town and provided free on site parking. We enjoyed our stay 😊
