Impressive building with a very interesting interior design in the hallways and lobby. Our room was impressively spacious, possibly because there were three of us and a dog. Check-in was easy, and the receptionist was very polite. We had a nice view of the Ludwigsburg Eye, which added to our enjoyment. The room was clean and well-appointed, and the amenities provided were standard but appreciated. The breakfast was good, offering a variety of options to start the day right.

The only downside is the parking situation. Given the size of the hotel, the parking area, while not exactly small, could be bigger to accommodate more guests. However, this minor issue didn't significantly detract from our overall positive experience.

The replacement room - see below - was a spacious 2nd floor (one set of steps up from ground floor) with pleasant light decor and vastly better. It's on this room (and the general service we received) that we've rated the hotel. We have stayed there before and been very satisfied.

The first room we were offered was on the top floor with just two skylights in (effectively) an attic, with dark coloured walls - clearly unsatisfactory.

Parking on site, decent size room, complimentary stay for our son along with a bed, pet friendly (cats included), gym and sauna, close proximity to the Palace (10 minute walk), plenty of restaurants around, their own restaurant and bar, amazing breakfast and service. This is a hotel whose management really knows what they are doing and they are great at it!

What is there not to like?

The hotel is comfortable, clean, well organized and the staff is helpful and friendly. Also the location is excellent. The value for money is really great. Good size bedrooms and super comfy beds. Before making my reservation I saw some of the reviews have criticized the breakfast buffet, which I thought I would overlook because we needed the location more than the breakfast, but I was pleasantly surprised with excellent coffee and breakfast choices, so I imagine the administration has paid attention to the costumer feedback, which adds to the value of this place.

The carpet at the reception needs some cleaning

Nice and clean hotel. Location close to the Castle, isolated place. Breakfast was good. Parking.

The guy at the reception recommended a restaurant, that was closed a month ago. I came quite late and the hotel restaurant closed at 21 instead of 22 how it is indicated on the internet site of the hotel. The guy at breakfast didn’t allow me to seat outside for no reason. The staff needs some training.

This hotel was beautiful! It was clean and the staff was wonderful. The breakfast buffet was huge! There were options to suite any palette, a lot of coffee and juices and a large selection of teas. We even had a little champagne in our orange juice. The bed was comfortable and the rainfall shower was so relaxing. It was a short walk away from the palace and the staff let us keep our car parked after we checked out so we could explore the palace. Our parking was validated so it was free with our stay. I wish I would have known this was going to be such a gorgeous hotel because I might have booked more than one night!

The Nestor Hotel in Ludwigsburg is right in the middle of the town's best attractions. From the hotel, we walked along the tree-lined alley to the Palace and its gardens, Marktplatz, and Rathausplatz, where we enjoyed the Weinlaube wine festival. The hotel is also walking distance from restaurants and right next door to the Forum.

A coffee machine and/or tea kettle in the room would be nice.

Liked the room size, friendliness of staff, and reasonably priced and easily available food/drink at the bar. Everyone spoke English perfectly too. Shower facilities were fantastic, and cleanliness was top notch. Location great, and next to a lot of fantastic places.

Didn't like the cost of breakfast, which seemed a bit dear, on top of the already quite pricey room. Didn't like that for a double bed, I just had two single beds pushed together. These actually started to separate a few times during the night, meaning I would fall through them both to the ground! A pool would have been a great addition, but that's just a suggestion, I wouldn't hold it against you.

The location was wonderful - we were able to walk everywhere! We stayed in the suite and it was very recently updated. It was very modern yet warm and relaxing and provided us plenty of space for our extended stay.

Most disappointed by the entrance design. The bar was located right in the immediate corridor and the lobby up the stairs and off the entrance. switching these would be a suggestion since the bar becomes over crowded in the evenings and the lobby is mostly empty. The hallway carpets were dreadful. Old and dated with a lot of stains. For this to be such a high ranked hotel this should be an immediate update.

As usual, very professional and dedicated staff. Whilst high-priced, the location is the most important factor. Had a small single room this time, adequate. I loved the working fridge so I could cool my own stuff down.

Bed was a bit too soft. The air conditioning was struggling against the summer heat, despite it not going much above 30 degrees. Both the air conditioning and the nearby party location were a bit loud for resting sleep. Sadly, the restaurant and bar staff were understaffed all stay, which is a sign of the times.
