The location of Hotel Starnberg See is perfect right across the street from the train station and the lake. The staff especially the front desk was friendly, helpful, professional. The room was very clean and comfortable. (one exception noted in the "did not like" section) with a stable WiFi. The breakfast offered a good selection of baked breads and croissants that were baked fresh throughout the breakfast period. The staff also offered eggs scrambled or fried. We would return to Hotel Starnberg See again without hesitation.

The previous occupant of our room was an obvious smoker (even though smoking in the room is prohibited). We went into the bathroom and were hit with an incredibly strong odor of cigarette smoke. We informed the front desk and they apologized and said smoking in the rooms is strictly prohibited. We were not offered another room and we did not ask for another room since we had already unpacked the suitcases so we opened the windows and aired out the smoke. The air cleared up by the next day. Outside of the cigarette smoke, everything else about Hotel Starnberg See was great.

This is a classic lakeside resort hotel located just across the street from Starnberger See (Lake Starnberg). It was a bit rustic; but that was to be expected given the hotel's vintage. The room was very clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating. If traveling to Starnberg and you want access to the lake, this is a very nice hotel in the heart of the village.

The street between the hotel and the lake was very noisy almost all night long. I'm not sure what the hotel can do about the noise; but the volume of cars, people walking by, and the train (the U-Bahn station is just across the street) make for a loud stay.

Very helpful at the front desk. I was arriving a bit late and they had already texted me to tell me how to get access to my key, but I still arrived in time before reception closed. Great Indian restaurant about 4 minutes away on foot and the Starnberg train station it literally right across the street, perfect for taking the train into Munich the next day. Beautiful lake view.

There could have been slightly more hot choices at breakfast and the bedding was bit soft, but overall a great stay.

The location was excellent - 1 minute from the Railway Station, just across from the lake. Handy for the Town Centre and for catching the boat for trips on the lake. Breakfast was lovely. Nice intimate dining area. Coffee was available downstairs at any time as was fresh cold water.

No kettle in the room for tea but on asking staff happily provided one. The room decor was slightly dark and the very large dog face on the wallpaper was an acquired taste!

We liked the warm welcome, friendly, accommodating staff who went above and beyond their role to help guests and to make sure they had a good holiday. The breakfast was varied and of a good quality. We always love hotels that cook eggs to order! We also loved our room at the front of the hotel as we were overlooking the lake. It may have been noisier than rooms at the back of the hotel but we slept very well regardless! We would have liked to have stayed longer

Excellent situation very close to the lake and to the train station. We used the parking which was behid the hotel. The breakfast is quite varied and complete, the room was comfortable.

The lift had some minor problems which affected the capacity. Nothing else to remark.

Best Location close to train station, but quiet. Centrally located for town and lake. Very nice restaurants in ground floor and along the road. Need read very comfortable.

Nothing bad to say. If you want to nit pick then breakfast could have more warm food options than eggs but the buffet and coffee was nice anyway.

Everything.. The location is superb, the accommodation functional but very comfortable. What I particularly liked was the friendly atmosphere, the obvious intention to make guests feel welcome. Little touches like gratis sparkling water were much appreciated.

There was a noisy apartment just outside my window that played music loud so I had to close my window and there are no AC in the room which was a bit of a bummer
