We read the reviews before the visit and saw some really strange ones. So, current status - pool is hot, definitely 28+, may be even 30+, though it's small and will be perfect if you travel with kids. From apartments pool is accessible via covered hallway so you can come in bathrobes - WiFi was good in the apartment and in the house - parking is 9 EUR/day and located pretty far if you live in the house, but in general it's OK - breakfast is OK - hotel staff is good and friendly, I cannot confirm negative comments - both apartments and houses are renovated and pretty big, apartments without kitchens only with fridge, electric kettle and coffee machine, houses with full kitchen - no air conditioning, so cannot say what's the situation during hot days, though most windows are facing east, so not to the sunny side - hotel gave us Sauerland-Cards for free and with these cards we visited a lot of attarctions for free. 10 meters from the hotel there is a covered cart track, it's also free for 10 min.

No lifts and a lot of stairs everywhere. If you live in the house, prepare to walk a lot up and down, since the hotel is located on the hillside.

A beautiful hotel in the middle of the hilly landscape. We had the whole chalet to ourselves, 3 bedrooms, a living room and a terrace with a picturesque view. The location is very quiet and close to the nature. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean and modern. We also used the pool - was not too big, but the water was really warm, to relax after a day of action. Decent dinner, and a great breakfast, with all the variety - from cereal and milk to graved salmon to scrambled eggs.

The only minus point is that the restaurant was quite warm and stuffy both for dinner and breakfast - it was a warm weekend, and open windows were not enough. Would also prefer the possibility to sit outside - there were tables and chairs, but as far as I can judge, they were only used for drinks during the day.

The hotel was located in a very peaceful spot and our balcony looked across the hills. If we had stayed in the winter I am sure it would have been very convenient for skiing as there were ski areas within walking distance. The room was a really good size, with a kettle & coffee machine, & fridge. The bathroom was also good & had good lighting & even a decent magnifying mirror which is appreciated. The spa, gym & pool were added pluses. The restaurant food (very allergy aware) in the evening was good even with its small menu and the staff efficient (although they could smile more!) Breakfast was also good ~ a decent buffet with all the usual items and gluten free bread available on request. The seating area outside was also pleasant.

It was an exceedingly hot weekend on our visit & AC would have been great in the room. The bed was comfortable but the pillows dreadful! The staff were efficient but spoke very little English & could have been friendlier.

Liked: the room, which was very spacious and clean; the large pool with all its facilities and its extended schedule (also happy that our room was located in the same building); the buffet breakfast, open until 11.00. The hotel is located near a ski slope.

Did not like: that there were only two coffee capsules in the room, and they are not replaced (there is also no supermarket within walking distance); the restaurant FuerstRichard, where we ate dinner once (very long waiting times, average, flavorless food despite the fancy presentation and above average prices). Tip: there is a great family-owned restaurant (at the Gasthof zur Post) nearby. Tasty local dishes and superb service!

The room was comfortable, well equipped, modern, the little details in the room were well designed. Comfortable beds, smart tv, well equipped kitchen. The regional card, which gives you passes to a bunch of if attractions, was great. Nice warm pool. They provide towel and robes in the pool, which is really convenient.

The place was great, some minor improvement points: The room temperature was locked. We couldn't turn on the heating while it was a bit cold at night. Some of the staff didn't speak or understand any English

Nicely located in the hills, right next door to Postwiese skiing area, so you practically can rent skis next to your hotel and take off. Houses are beautifully decorated, warm and have everything for relaxed holidays. There is a free pool and sauna with free robes and towels, and not too crowded. Reception staff was very helpful, you really feel welcome

WiFi is practically non-existent, especially if you stay in a house located further away from the main building. Just forget it, almost no signal, so you will need mobile internet at all times. Not suitable for guests with limited mobility and babies as the whole hotel is located in the hills with a parking at the entrance , so you will need to walk stairs up en down all the time. Hotel could definitely do more to make roads and stairs snow free after a snowfall. A grocery shop on premises would help - now you need to drive to Winterberg to buy food or medicines

Breakfast had good variety of food.Vicinity to skilift was very convenient.Decent indoor pool and 2 saunas made our stay more relaxing.Snack bar’s pizza and Cesar salad were delicious for late dinner option.

There was an issue with Internet during all of our stay. We could never use WiFi and they told us it was the main fiber cable in street so there was nothing they could do.It would be nice if we were provided some return or coupons from hotel at least as we had to use our roaming internet service. or at least mention before our arrival. Normal hot l dinner finishes at 8.30 at hotel which is very early according to us. We were not given any ski pass for the lift by the hotel.

Great location (right next to the slopes & ski rental) in a not too crowded skiing area, very suitable for families. Hotel is what you expect from a 4**** Dorint, 'practical' with everything where you expect it ;) And suitable for rainy days (swimming pool & karting next door).

WiFi was 80% of the time down, disconnecting or extremely slow. 'Yes sorry, it does that' - a response I might expect on a tropical island, not in a Dorint in Germany ;) Check-in time was unclear (we arrived at at 15:00, check-in time turned out to be 16:00), even though we received numerous emails in advance 'to make your stay more comfortable' :)

Nice holiday resort. With very friendly staff, both at the reception and in the restaurant. Apartments are very clean and modernly furnished.

Internet connection in the cottages is weak. The tennis court is a little outdated. We still could have good trainings on it but the light in the hall is minimal and at some places the lines of the courts are worn out. Some maintenance work on it would be highly appreciated.

Nicely refurbished apartment with great views. The restaurant food was very good. We ordered takeaway 2 evenings. You can also eat at the restaurant. We received these tourists cards/tickets from reception which allowed us free entry or discounts to several attractions. Located close to Winterberg. We didn't use public transportation because we had a car. We had to pay to use the parking facilities of the resort. Swimming pool was great. The water was warm. Ideal for our baby. Overall good value for money.

It didn't seem the floor has been vacuumed or mopped. Maybe in the center of the room but not everywhere else. Especially behind and around the couch. We noticed this because we had a baby crawling all over. And we found red hair everywhere. Perhaps from the previous travellers. Check in process could be smoother.
