Too many steps to get to the location

very well located property, best sunset view right out of your room. very good staff. make sure you select their room with private pool, don’t book their room with loft, its very small. you may not like that room if you are claustrophobic, other than that this property is spot on and checks every mark on quality and conforming. Very good chef and fantastic food.

IF YOU NEED TO GO OUT FOR RESTAURANTS, BE READY TO WALK ON UP AND DOWN HILL WITH THUMPING HEARTBEATS :D, BUT IT WORTH THE VIEW…

The room and location was beautiful as was the entire staff. Looking out from your balcony at the water and volcano was breathtaking. Easily the best view on the island!! Breakfast every morning delivered to your balcony by the best waiters anywhere. i still don’t know how they did it with those stairs. Always delivered with a kind word and big smile. The front desk staff was awesome. The true test of a staff is when you have a problem and how it is resolved, it’s easy when everything goes perfect but when there is a problem that is the true test of customer service. The Athena Suites manager Beatrice came through with flying colors and handled it like a true professional. Everyone at the Athena Suites was happy, friendly,helpful and professional!! Thank you to all of you for all your guidance on our vacation.

We liked everything

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Hotel Athina! The hotel is just a 3-5mins walk down the steps from the main market with all the shops and restaurants, and yet the rooms feel so peacefully quiet with a gorgeous view. I was pleasantly surprised with how well-organised, guest friendly, professional and exceptional their service was from booking to check out. The hotel app is great and the staff were so helpful and communicative via WhatsApp too. Their guest survey-form before check-in makes the experience personalised and thoughtful. We were very grateful that upon check in and check out, the staff helped us with all our luggage which was so helpful because of all the steps in Fira. The front desk staff gave us really nice travel tips and suggestions too. It’s so nice to see how welcoming and friendly the staff is, and always smiling and positive. The view from our room was breathtaking and the bedroom was very comfortable. Their swimming pool has heated water, which is a nice bonus in this weather because it is cold and windy. The food in the restaurant and the in-room breakfast is exceptional!!! The Chicken Ballotine is a must try!!! Thank you so much to the entire team for making our anniversary so special with the complimentary wine and card! 😊 We will surely visit again and next time stay longer. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful experience at your property even in such short amount of time.

The shower and basin taps are a little difficult to figure out and operate. Everything else was beyond perfect! Thank you!

This boutique hotel is amazing!

It was cold due to the wind. Additionally the wind was extremely strong. As a result no one wanted to be at the pool unless dressed in warm clothing which I did not have. Also with it being so windy difficult to read a book, etc. My room was very close to the pool. I could be out as long as in the warm jacuzzi. The bar staff did not want to serve any bar food because I wasn't actually at the pool (water cold in pool too!). The bar menu had great options and I got out my warm jacuzzi and ordered. The food was great! Even with me buying many drinks I was told if I wasn't at the pool, I could not order from the pool menu again. I understand the rule but wished there was flexibility due to the cold, wind and my willingness to spend money.

Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. The staff were extremely attentive and made sure all our needs were met. Check-in was quick and smooth. They helped us with our bags, which was very appreciated given the stairs in Santorini. They also arranged a taxi for us from the ferry and later to the airport, making our travel stress-free. The room was spotless with a stunning view. The private jacuzzi was a fantastic feature, perfect for relaxing. The sunset views were truly unforgettable. Highly recommend staying here!

My sister and I spent an entire week at Athina Luxury Suites and we loved it. The beauty of the pool space, terrasses, the view and the professionalism and kindness of all of the hotel staff are definitely the main features of this hotel. We would totally recommend. All of the staff, from the reception to the pool staff, restaurant staff, and housekeeping team. Absolutely all of them had been amazing. Thank you so much.

One little red flag about the rooms (or at least ours) in the Honeymoon suites section which were quite noisy/ not greatly soundproofed. Other than that - nothing to report.

I just saw on Facebook that the team at Athina have just won leading boutique hotel in Greece by the World Travel Awards. This is well deserved as our stay was fantastic in all respects. Lovely staff, great facilities, pool area stunning, room large. Peaceful even though its in the centre of Fira. Highly recommend staying here.

Be prepared for stairs, but that is the small price you pay for the incredible views. And no need to go crowded Oia for the sunset, you get a beautiful sunset from almost every aspect of this hotel.

- amazing view of caldera from honeymoon suite - ⁠room was comfy and cozy - ⁠inbuilt speakers in the room - nice shower/rain shower - breakfast was really good and brought to the room with a news print - ⁠great hospitality from staff whom communicated through whatsapp and always greeted and chatted - jacuzzi with awesome view - ⁠had people to help us with our luggage during check in and check out (check out was super early in the morning and they still assisted) - ⁠complimentary wine bottle delivered straight to the room

Our suite was BEYOND FABULOUS!! It was the stuff of social media dreams! The balcony with private jacuzzi, spacious interior and luxurious bathroom were so special. To enjoy the magnificent view of Santorini and caldera while in the jacuzzi and enjoying the delicious breakfast was the perfect celebration of our vacation.

While i huffed and puffed with every stair (and there are a LOT), I think it was the price to pay for staying on the side of a cliff. But definitely wear good shoes . . . luckily we did not have any issues nut I did see other tourists with arm sling (not at our hotel but on the island).
