Location is perfect, hotel is right at the begining of the dirt road to balos beach. Although this road apparently won't be used in the future as there is a big construction project underway for parking.. We had the best room in the resort, top corner facing the sea from two balconies and the hills. Pool is awesome, view is amazing. Although there is no accessible private beach, we walked about 5 mins to an empty beach which was great

If you're looking for perfect finishes to the resort and rooms this isn't for you, broken tiles near the pool, shower was hanging off the wall, paint job looks like a child did it, we don't care too much about these things but should be noted. There is no private beach as described by the hotel. There is private area but the water is basically inaccessible and there are no sunchairs of shades as you would expect, Just old construction waste. There is current construction right next to the hotel for a carpark or something to replace use of the balos beach dirt road. Can be noisy and dusty

The hotel was set in a perfect location with all the facilities you could want. Lovely rooms overlooking the sea, the staff were very helpful and answered all questions asked. The main reason we went to the hotel was to visit Balos Lagoon and it didn't disappoint. It's a little adventure getting there but totally worth it. There is a 30-minute slow drive up the mountain with absolutely breath-taking views along the route. There is a small charge of 1 euro per person to get up the mountain. Once you get to the top you are guided to the parking area at a cost of 2 euro to park for the whole day. Then you start your beautiful walk down the mountain to reach the lagoon which takes about 25 minutes. Make sure you take photos of the lagoon from the Vantage points these are pictures on a clear day that you would want to put up on your wall totally amazing. Then you get to the Lagoon simply WOW one of the nicest places I have every been too. This is a must place to visit so ensure you make the effort as its totally worth it. If you do visit the Lagoon flip flops or sandals are not the best along the walk so, I would suggest wearing trainers or walking boots. Enjoy

The very friendly staff, always available to give suggestions and offer support. The meal service was also good, although it could have been improved with more options. Also the hotel itself had very good conditions, it was close to the sea and our room had an amazing view, we couldn't have picked a better one to watch the sunrise. Finally the hotel cats that greated us every day were lovely!

Every evening the dinner was served between 7-9:30 pm, unfortunately the dishes that were made in the moment were not available during the whole dinner period. Also the dinner didn't include drinks but at least I think it should include water.

This hotel is well maintained, well run and the staff are extremely helpful and accommodating and try and make your stay as comfortable as possible. The views over Kissamos Bay are spectacular and the swimming pool is clean and a good size. There are enough sun beds as well! The beach is very quiet and stony though there are a couple of places where you can easily get in on shingles. Would certainly recommend beach shoes. The breakfast and dinner buffets are varied with enough healthy choices. The staff who run the restaurant are very polite and always smiling! The hotel is remote and you certainly need a car if you want to get round. There are no public buses or shuttles that go past and the nearest shop which just about has some very basic stuff is a good 20 min walk. A taxi into Kissamos costs 15 euro one way and there is a nice sandy organized beach there with sunbeds, showers and nice tavernas. There is an absolutely brilliant taverna with the most amazing food about 15 mins walk from our hotel. It deserves a Michelin star - and I would say it is probably one of the best tavernas on the island of Crete! The noisy very lively bustling atmosphere with loads of local Greeks visiting it daily and authentic live Cretan music was one of the highlights of our holiday. You have to wait over an hour to get a table which shows how popular it is! But it has a wonderful bar area in the garden which is a pleasure to sit in and wait till they are ready with your table. We went there 3 times and could have gone there every night! It is also very good value! All in all a great holiday with a trip to Balos lagoon and Elafonissi thrown in with local tour companies. The hotel is also accessible for wheelchair users everywhere and has a lift as well.

Nothing! If you want a quiet holiday where you can completely unwind and relax away from it all then this is the place. It is completely on its own and not in a resort area - no resort type shops or bars around. It is surrounded by wonderful olive groves and farmland so expect to eat well on organic and locally grown vegetables!

Secluded position, outside the town, in peace and total silence, right at the beginning of the road to reach Balos. Very spacious junior suite, with all necessary amenities, including a small and convenient kitchen. Uninterrupted and full sea view from every room. You sleep to the sound of the waves. Excellent soundproofing. Super friendly and professional staff. Great on-site restaurant, complete breakfast with a wide selection of sweet and savory options and quality local products.

We wanted seclusion and quiet, and this hotel met the criteria perfectly. The room was absolutely gorgeous, and having our own private dipping pool was fantastic! The view was breathtaking. While the hotel does not have a "usable" beach per se, Balos Lagoon is not far away, so be sure to take full advantage of it and go early in the morning—you will not be disappointed. We did ot use the primary pool but it looked well maintained. We booked a full-board experience, and while the food was average to good, it was convenient not having to choose a restaurant every night, so we were happy with our choice. Laundering services are available and reasonably priced. We received our items back the same day, which was a nice bonus.

We did enjoy our stay at the Balos Beach Hotel. We love the hospitality from the staff, the breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the location of the hotel is just perfect. We came to stay during the low season in the end of October. Yet, it didn’t change the quality of the service. The staff in the reception were super friendly and helpful. The Indonesian staff serving during breakfast and lunch were amazing! They were just ready to be there to give us the best experience. Amazing work! Our room is just perfect. We experienced the best sunrise! Love to sit down in the balcony and enjoy the beauty of the nature.

All was clean, nice bed and sea view. Room was so roomy, compared to a shoe box that we had in Sardinia last year! Breakfast buffet had all the things I liked, and staff was very Nice. And the elevator was a plus!!

The only disappointment was that the pool was freezing cold, no heating. Also in the bathroom there were no hooks for a towel or swimsuit, nightgown. Had to lay towel on the counter or over a chair!

The hotel is in a fantastic location by the water, it is quiet, the staff is friendly and great. It is beautifully designed in a unique location, the last building before the 8 kilometer long park leading out to Balos Bay. The restaurant was quite good, with a creatively prepared breakfast with different options every day (including hot vegetarian options).
