I had a beautifully tranquil stay at The Karalis Beach hotel. The location is gorgeous, with views of the New Castle of Pylos to one side and the incredible blue expanse of Navarino Bay to the other. I had a comfortable room with calming decor, well equipped with a coffee machine and mini-fridge, and a balcony overlooking the bay. Breakfast (plenty of good choices), is served on the top floor, perched over the water. The views are almost too beautiful to seem real. Fish below make an appearance every morning and thrash about, devouring bread thrown over the railings. The outdoor terraces are suspended over the rocks with incredible views at every height and angle. Sturdy steps decend from the lower terrace into brilliantly clear water - still warm in the last week of October. A short walk up to the end of the road leads to part of the castle, a walled expanse with enhanced views of the entrance to the bay. An equally short walk leads to the proper entrance to the castle, which is a huge space to explore including the impressive ruins, a beautiful garden, and yet more incredible views of the bay. The hotel staff are genuinely kind, friendly, and happy to advise about places to visit and to arrange transport with local taxi drivers, especially Panos, the lovely driver booked for both my airport transfers and a couple of trips. During my stay, I visited the Polylimnio waterfalls, a mountain acrross the bay with towering wind turbines, (and a tiny church open just one day of the year every May!), Giolava lagoon, and Voidokilia beach. All spectacular, and all within easy reach of the hotel. Its a testimony to the beauty of the hotel and its immediate vicinity that I enjoyed spending time there as much as visiting these famous locations. I do plan to make a return trip. The hotel itself and the area offer so much beauty (and peace, in October), and the exceptional kindness and hospitality of the staff made my visit unforgettable.

Nothing to dislike.

The view over the bay is magical and worth the journey. The hotel is exceptional in its location, its amazing breakfast and the standard of the room. It was by far the most extensive and generous breakfast in our two week tour. Parking is available on the cul de sac which accesses the hotel, and there is no traffic noise at all. We were impressed with their Covid precautions. The restaurants of the town are only a five minute walk away. We hope to return next year.

The term beach is a bit of a misnomer as there is no proper beach at the hotel, though some sand has been brought on to the lower terrace. Access to the sea which is several metres deep is direct via the lower terrace and to us looked very dangerous with much exposed rusty ironwork. We did see signs of a new ladder being built and hope this will soon be in place.

Hotel by the sea and room balconies over the sea and great in every detail! With bathroom sunbeds, even king size beds with pillows and towels free of charge. 4 steps from the clean sea. Bar with drinks, juices and light dishes from 11:00 am and the best view of the area. Elias is the soul of the bar and a “swiss army” knife!!! Great variety of food for breakfast (from 7 to 10:30!) and of excellent quality. Fruits, cheese, ham, eggs, mushrooms, juice, coffees, sweets, coffee etc. Also, ready sandwiches to go. Very friendly personnel, change towels every day. Very historic place with the hotel just under the almost 500 old castle. For the history of the place read about Pylos from the Trojan War 12th+ century BC { https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pylos} the battle of Pylos 425 BC - Athenians against Spartans {https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Pylos} and the battle of Navarino 1827 - Greek Independence war {https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Navarino} that took place in front of the hotel. Visit the nearby castle “Neokastro” (8 am to 8 pm in summer 6 days a week -closed on Tuesdays) for the view and the 3 museums with only 6 euros. Search Google for { neokastro Pylos pictures }

First our hosts were wonderful. From the desk to management. There was trouble with plumbing in our room prior to our arrival on day of check in, on a Sunday. No chance of a plumber coming on Sunday. The hotel manager contacted me directly and made excellent alternative arrangements for us at their sister property Karalis City, in the same penthouse type room, also with a really special view. That room was clean and recently remodeled, wonderful, with a bottle of wine waiting, and a full breakfast with attentive staff the next morning. We moved to Karalis beach the second day for the rest of our stay, and that penthouse suite overlooking the water was a joy. Nice staff from front desk, to breakfast service, to tiki bartender. My wife and I spent a couple peaceful days to ourselves here and enjoyed every moment.

The property was situated on the top of the hill near Nestor’s Castle- but it was walking distance to Pylos town and had its own swimming beach. The position, views and our room were amazing. This was my favourite accommodation in Greece so far. Position- amazing Beach- stunning Breakfast- delivered coots choice of everything. Fresh juice, eggs any style, yogurt, tiropites etc etc Staff ( including Bella the dog) were exceptional and the breakfast staff very attentive and so friendly. We loved our stay and cannot recommend this quaint but very modern hotel enough. Unbelievable stay💚

Loved everything

This elegant hotel is situated on a small headland at the edge of the beautiful bay of Navarino, below the impressive Pylos Castle and surrounding woodland and virtually on the waters edge. The really beautiful small town of Pylos is only a few minutes walk and has a most attractive waterfront with wide terraces and walkways some of which house the eating areas of a number of local restaurants. The hotel has well finished common parts with comfortable seating and eating areas, many with balconies and terraces offering fabulous views across the bay. The bedrooms are contemporary in style with comfortable beds, very good linens and bedding. Everything is spotless. The little balcony to our room has a table, two chairs and a padded bench plus there is a raised flower bed which in our case was planted with geraniums. Breakfast was beautifully presented with a vast array of treats, some continental as well as typical Greek dishes with eggs as per desired and really delicious squeezed orange juice. The breakfast lounge is situated by a lovely sitting area and bar and is a delightful area to sit in the sunshine and read. Outside are terraced sitting areas with tables and chairs and also sun beds. By the hotel’s little ‘beach’ there are further sun beds and awnings. There is access via steps into the wonderful sea. I think the best thing about this hotel is the welcome and attention from the front desk. Lampro and Ioanna man the desk all hours and are a treasure trove of information regarding the town and beyond. They are lovely people and I send huge thanks to Lampo for her hospitality.

Great Breakfast and very nice staff! The location has a very nice bar it was directly at the water. Room was clean and comfortable. Easy parking at the street. It was also very close to walk into the city center.

The only minus - it was hard to get in the late afternoon spot at the terrace for sunbathing as a hotel guest. All nice sunbeds were already occupied but external guests (young adults). It would be nice if one part was not open for the public And reserved for hotel guests only.

Gem of a hotel, we'd walked past it many times but this was our first stay and were not disappointed. The room was fine, could have done with some paint touch up where a leak had happened above. Bathroom was fine with a good shower by Greek standards. The view from the balcony is to die for and is worth visiting for this alone. There's no pool but access to the sea is easy from the steps in the hotel grounds. Breakfast was probably the best i've had anywhere in Greece, a fantastic selection of fresh produce and eggs done to order swiftly, the breakfast staff are a credit to the hotel, welcoming and professional, and there's the view from the breakfast room.... Will stay here on our next visit without doubt. Oh, and Bella the dog.

Beyond a few cosmetic bits in the room that needed tidying up, nothing at all.

This was our 2nd time staying at Karalis and it did not disappoint. The property offers amazing sea and town views from the room/balcony and breakfast lounge and we loved our large, clean, comfortable and attractive room with spacious, modern shower. The staff were again warm and welcoming and very helpful if we had any questions or requests. The location is perfect: Right next to the fortress, within easy walking distance of several beaches/swimming spots and excellent restaurants, and easy drive to Voidkilla Beach (do not miss it!) and two other beautiful towns with castles/forts. Breakfasts were amazingly good and filling with a nice range of items in the buffet, excellent coffee/espresso and eggs/other items on request, with perfect friendly service from Spiros and the other wonderful young lady who’s name we shamefully have forgotten. There are also sun beds and a swimming spot at the property which were perfect for relaxing and/or a quick plunge to cool off.

Only that we had to leave one of our favorite properties and villages/towns in Greece.

Everything was exceptional at the Karalis Beach. Setting was quite superb - the hotel is on a wonderful rocky outcrop on the edge of the town nestling under the old fort. The staff were wonderful, so professional, helpful and friendly. We had one of the junior suites (Room 301) and it was so worth it - spacious, fantastic balcony (with great furniture) and exceptional views from the top floor. Bed was very comfy too. Breakfast was fantastic and the breakfast room is so well equipped and tastefully furnished. Spiros and the other waiting staff were so attentive. We would thoroughly recommend the Karalis for a holiday and without doubt make sure you book a sea view room as the views and sunsets are exceptional. Final mention to Bella the dog who was always available for a treat or two. Will most definitely return.

Nothing.
