An amazing oasis of calm away from the busy city nearby. The trees, parkland, gardens and nature surrounding the hotel and spa complex provide a relaxing (and mostly traffic free) environment to relax and unwind. The spa complex is truly amazing, with free use of the many pools (inside and outside) and good value optional treatments available also. A wide range of options were available each day for breakfast in the Grand Hotel. The cafe in the adjacent Thermal Hotel (accessed via the link tunnel if raining) provided good value drinks and lighter food options throughout the day. There are excellent travel links to the hotel. There is a bus stop less then 100m away, a tram stop 400m away (but you can catch the bus there, or further into the city where there are links to other tram lines) and for a door-to-door service the Bolt taxi service is excellent and good value ~£10 each way from the hotel to the Bazilika (Cathedral) for up to 4 people. The staff at the hotel are friendly, but not over familiar; courteous and helpful at all times. Nothing is too much effort, and they all speak excellent English (sadly my Hungarian is very limited, but this was never an issue). If I could give this hotel 11 (or more, much more) out of 10 I would gladly do so, and recommend it to anyone who wants the benefits of access to the city, but from a place of calm and tranquility.

In the spa pools some younger (age 7 or 8?) children were splashing and being quite boisterous at times without adult supervision. I would like the spa staff to ensure this is controlled and parents/guardians act responsibly with the children under their care. There is no real evening entertainment available at the hotel and spa complex, so if this is important, you will need to travel into the city.

Beautiful room in Historic setting on an island park.I had acess to the spa with envigerating hot baths and olympic swimming pool. Grand Hotel restaurant is closed by i had acess to the new ensana restaurant via underground tunnel which had a superb buffet for $22 Euros consisting of unlimited culinary delights. Staff is very helpful with transportation, computer sign on, and directions. Bicycles, and hiking are available.

They didn't tell me before booking that their 19th century restaurant was closed for dinner. I missed the violins and Hungarian delicacies. The bar was also closed because of slow business.

Spa was fantastic. Our room was lovely and big, with excellent blackout curtains. Breakfast had lots of options and the food in restaurant at neighbouring hotel was nice.

Walls very thin- woken at 5am every morning by gentleman in next room. Asked for earplugs but there weren't any available and couldn't find any in shops. Slippers to go with bathrobe would have been beneficial. Charged twice for massages, so just be careful to check bill on leaving. It was rectified once we noticed.

The hotel have one of the best location in Budapest, very close of the city center and other point of interes. The breakfast was great with many options to choose. The rooms are bid and very clean.

The temperature in room was too low and impossible to change it. The breakfast restaurant is smaller than the number of tourists and we had a lot of problems to find an empty table.

Hotel rooms are lovely and spacious - oldy worldy style but grand with it. Our room had a view of the Danube. Hotel is connected by tunnel to Thermal hotel which you got used to after a while. The Spa and thermal pools were very nice and clean. Salt cave treatment is very good. The location is good too so it is easy to walk to the other end of the island. Also there is a bus stop outside the hotel.

Teas/coffees were not replaced daily and no milk for tea only creamer for coffee. No facilities open at Grand Ensana like restaurant for dinner or bar Food in the buffet restaurant at The Thermal Hotel needs to be labelled properly for allergies/intolerances.

helpful reception staff and also breakfast staff was attentive. nice hotel, good breakfast, quiet room, great pools and sauna.

we would pay a few eur extra to get better coffee during breakfast - it was really bad ;-). No minibar in the room - there was an empty fridge (functional).

Absolutely amazing stay. Out room was huge, with 3 awesome beds, most comfortable we have ever slept in :) the spa/thermal baths access was very easy and free to use during our entire stay, even after check out. The breakfast could be improved in terms of quality of the products used but nothing too major. Parking is available directly in front of the hotel and there is also an underground garage for your choice. We enjoyed morning walks on the islands gardens and really appreciated the calming/ peaceful atmosphere in general in the hotel and island as well. Staff very friendly and relaxed, homely atmosphere was a bonus. Highly recommended for a combo of peaceful stay and easy city access. There is plenty to see on the island itself, fun part is you can rent all sorts of moving vehicles: bikes, family bikes, trotinettes, and small electric taxis to visit entire Margaret park. We hooped on the bus 26 that takes you to the Margaret Bridge in 6 minutes from where i especially recommended night Tram ride T2 to see parliament building in its glory ;) Really wonderful stay.

The historic / vintage allure of the hotel, very nice furniture and bathroom. We also liked the breakfast, it was fresh and diverse. I paid 10 euros/day for the parking, but it was not a problem.

The location was a liitle far from the center, we took bus 26 and tramway nr. 2 to reach the center. The steam bath facility of the SPA was not working, but we enjoyed the dry sauna.

I liked the view and the quiet place what Margaret Island has to offer, the trees and taking a walk there is amazing. It is relaxing place to be. The swimming pool, hot tubes at the hotel are nice and the sauna, love it.

The room was small, good in off for one person. I hope it is not usually for two person.
