breakfast nice. dinner and service excellent. room was great. the young blonde women in her 30's ? at the front desk was extremely helpful. she gave us 7 or 8 destinations to visit in the south. got thru 6 of them, but due to time not the other 2. I do not know her name, but, if you know her tell her thank's from Dave,and,Nancy. Nice person and very helpful to those guest's who are new to the area! Thank's

It rained 3 out of the 5 days we stayed in iceland. Being our 1st international trip out of the states we enjoyed our stay. learned a lot for our next trip out of the USA.

The property is in the middle of farmland but still pretty close to Hella. Horses graze close to the property and there is a nice river running next to the stand-alone units. The owner gave us a few snacks to feed the horses to the delight of some of the younger hotel guests. The main lodge had a rustic dining room and a comfortable upper level with plenty of room to hang out after a day of travel. The restaurant menu was limited but we all enjoyed our choices.

The soup and salad bar addition to the meal was quite expensive. It was fine as a separate all you can eat option but adding it to the cost of the main meal, which was already expensive, caused most of our group to stick to just the main course.

The hotel staff was simply brilliant, anticipating needs I didn't think they would even care. The location is in a beautiful open field, with gentle hills and open spaces. It's also away from light pollution, which is excellent for aurora watching. The water of the hotel is sourced from a nearby geothermal fountain, so it feels soft and amazing on the skin, plus is tastes delicious. The room is a good size for 2 people. The bathroom is big and the shower is amazing. The bed is soft and confortable. All very inviting and cozy. I simply LOVED it.

That I didn't get to spend more time there.

We arrived after 10pm and our room key and instructions were waiting at the reception area. We were given a beautiful 2 story cabin , 2 bedrooms, small living room w/tv, and nice bathroom. A door to a nice deck with table allowed us to view a small brook, and farm land. Beds were very comfy, cabin was comfortable and cheery. Breakfast was good. The property has 2 dogs that are very friendly, don't jump on you and roam freely but were never a problem. We wished we could have stayed longer than one night. Don't hesitate to stay here!

Nice and cosy little houses in beautiful scenery, close to the main road but far enough to be silent and dark which is great to watch the aurora borealis. Rooms are nice and spacious with some tea and coffee, and there is a free to use hot tub in the garden under the sky - you can't imagine how wonderful is to watch the aurora from the tub. Staff is really friendly: they asked for our phone number so they could alert us in case nordic light shows up and even knocked on every door for nobody to miss it. The restaurant has a giant window so we could eat our breakfast looking at the sunrise, it was wonderful. This place was cheaper than the guesthouse we stayed in but this hotel was definitely more luxoriuos. Would definitely come back.

There is a sauna next to the hot tub but it was out of service. Breakfast is rich but was not so delicious, the quality of the coffee was really low.

Very nice and cosy location off the beaten track. Stayed in the larger cabin, good for 3 but could have easily accommodated more people. Nice view to the river and sunset. Nice dinner and breakfast. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Lost a charging cable at a previous location and front desk were able to help. We definitely enjoyed staying and will come again another time !

Very windy and windows were not completely sealed so a bit cold and breezy in bedroom, whole cabin creaked and moaned from the gusts. Facilities have been used many times and could use a brush up, but perfectly fine for our stay. Very nice sunset which resulted in most of the guests stood outside our terrace and looked in our room at us enjoying the sunset. Not much privacy as some folks filmed both the sunset and us sitting in our leisure attire.

It was a very snowy and windy day, but despite the harsh weather, our host was incredibly welcoming. Even the following day, when the conditions remained just as bad, she was kind enough to offer us a late check-out at no extra charge. She didn’t rush us to leave, which made our stay even more comfortable and stress-free. To make our experience even better, they provided us with a free breakfast, which was absolutely amazing. The food was fresh, delicious, and exactly what we needed to start the day. It was a thoughtful touch that made us feel even more at home. The place itself was cozy and inviting, with a warm and homely atmosphere. One of the highlights was the game/chill room, which had a wide variety of games, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Whether it was board games, card games, or other entertainment options, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Overall, it was a truly wonderful and memorable stay, made even better by the thoughtful and accommodating host. We would definitely love to return!

We liked everything

It was a small friendly family run hotel: we were upgraded to a cabin overlooking the river as there was a big group in the main building. The view was lovely and the cabin one of the best we have stayed in. Staff came and alerted us to the Northern Lights display. Excellent breakfast, although limited choice of evening meal.

We arrived from the east and Google took us along a 25 km dirt track. Approach from the west ( where there is a sign off route 1 saying to the hotel)

- The staff is so friendly and nice. They were willing to accommodate all requests and also guided us a bit on the tour route. They noticed I was out on a walk to explore the surrounding area so they told me where the horses are and just gave me a bag of stale bread to be able to call them and feed them. - The area is surrounded with amazing views and walking paths. - The breakfast is excellent and the dinning area is quite big. - The also have a small sauna and hot bath tub at the back for guests.

Lovely location, sandwiched between the mountains and a river. So beautiful. Loved our cabin. Beautifully decorated and arranged. Great bathroom and shower. Comfy bed and sofa (I slept on the sofa and it was very comfortable!) We got to see the Northern light too. They came out really quickly to change the fire alarm battery which was beeping. So was

The dinner and breakfast cod be improved a bit. Overall it was good but comparing to our other hotels in Iceland so far it could have been a tiny bit better but this is only me being picky!
