When we first arrived we thought we had made a mistake booking this hotel but then we realised just how much character this 1880 built building had. The Staff were lovely. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The natural hot tub was hot and bathrobes were provided to wear from your room to the tub. We were given complimentary tea and coffee in the reception area. The breakfast room downstairs was an Aladin's cave of historic articles. The continental style breakfast was excellent.
Being June it never gets dark. The blinds in the bedroom did not block out the light so we needed sleeping masks. Blackout blinds would make this hotel perfect.

This is an annexe attached to the oldest hotel in town. We had the biggest room and a view as well. There was heaps of space for our bags and cold weather gear. (We had a lot) Breakfast was very good, in a basement dining room that was decorated with heaps of memorabillia. There was a private natural hot spring in the grounds that was nice and hot. Staff were lovely and did our washing for us.
Shower was very small but that was what would fit in the bathroom.

Nice hotel partly in a very cool old building. The room was comfortable and clean although on the smaller size. The room had some tea and coffee available. There is a decent hot pool you can use.
The restaurant is a bit pricey and there aren't too many options in the area, however it was very convenient for us on our route.

A warm welcome, and room clean and comfortable, if a little on the small side. A nice evening meal in the restaurantdownstairs, which was full of character, and a decent breakfast, too
Access to the annex, where we were staying, could have been better. A smooth path, perhaps covered, would have been appreciated.

A house from 1820! Its an awesome experience in Iceland to stay in such old hotel! Staff is friendly, rooms are clean, free wi-fi. Hot spring behind a house! Average breakfast. I DO WARN YOU: Rooms a quite small, it is obviously expected that people lived in 1800s had different expectations and comforts, house is fully wooden and floors are very loud and noisy (hotel offer ear plugs for that) and other people could hear you with ease through walls (burp/fart/sneeze and everything else).
A big average breakfast. Nothing else.

the outside look does not do the property justice, it is totally beautiful inside and well decorated, the building is ancient and they have maintained it very well. the receptionist was lovely, they had robes in the room as there was a geothermal hot tub ( we didn't use it but it looked great). the breakfast was great and the staff in the breakfast area were so pleasant. i loved it.

Hotel interior design is stunning! very "retro" like, was very nice to stay in. Breakfast was nice, love these little croissants! On the night we were there we also manage to view the northern lights from our room window, so that made it even more special! Location was also convenient, middle of the town, very easy to find.
Room was a bit small, lack of power outlets, hot water smells of sulfur (that's a common issue in all of northern Iceland, but still, it's very hard to get use to it).

This was my favorite bed & breakfast on our trip around Iceland’s Ring Road! I loved all the history of the hotel, the 1800’s decor, the touches of luxury like bath robes and very comfortable bedding and Icelandic wool blankets, and the breakfast was delicious! Elise at the front desk was so sweet, friendly, and patient. And the hot springs tub outside on the back patio was a wonderful way to end the day! Loved every minute and wished we could have stayed longer!

Our stay was very nice at this hotel with so much history and character. Breakfast was very good. The staff was friendly. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. The room was a good size and cozy. The hotel’s ambience was cozy, warm and inviting. Also great that it had parking for our rented car. Relaxed at the hotel’s hot pot with a cold beer.
