Room was spacious and clean. All necessary items were there in the room. For a quadrauple room, they should provide slippers and cups for 4 people. The restaurant service was quick.

Tea bags were served openly in the room without any cover and the tea cup had a crack. Early check in service wasn’t given to us. The bed linen and towels could be better washed or new ones should be provided. Water pressure in the washroom was low. Should have a curtain in the shower area and have exhaust fan.

I did not have meals/ breakfast. The front desk staff Mr. Kamalraj & Ashwin were very very helpful. Went that extra mile in helping to get change of currency, advising as a foreign tourist. How much to bargain for an auto( eg: not more than certain amount from T- Nagar to Egmore or from Egmore to mount road. Giving the best places in food to dine in an enjoy.) On the last day getting me the weighing machine( where as it was both broken & raining to go outside, somehow got it for me. They even arranged OLA cabs to the domestic & international air ports for me. IT WAS TRULY A REMARKABLE PLACE TO STAY. EVEN THOUGH THE DISTANCE FROM AIR PORT WAS A BIT FAR. BUT THE SMILING FACES AND POLITE WAY OF TALKING, ACKNOWLEDGING THE CUSTOMERS MADE ME SPEECHLESS. I will truely recomend to my friends & the next time i will be booking at the Madras Grand Chennai to stay. 😊👍

What could have been better is in the restaurant any types of food ( such as paper masala dosai & buriyani ) available all day. Also i one time ordered chapatti & allo gobi ( the patato there was no patato in it at all) i did mention that to the kitchen staff. Kitchen has to improve alot. Also ordered ginger tea hopeless no good. NO VALUE FOR MONEY.

I had good experience but with a little glitch from hotel management. The rooms were clean and the service was good. The breakfast from the little restaurant next to lobby was tasty. Overall the experience was good.

The hotel management did not manage the communication properly. I called the hotel to inform about the timings of my arrival the next day. The receiver did not make a note of this communication and upon arrival I was told that my reservation has been canceled. The management was able to provide the reserved rooms but only after a bit of deliberation. Very inconvenient. Room for improvement.

When we arrived at Madras Grand, we were welcome with a very big smile. Reception team really really nice. I don't remember the name but we were granted an upgrade for a better hotel room . He also helped us to get a taxi with a reasonable price for our trip to Pondicherry. Hotelroom was really nice, clean and nothing was missed. Breakfast was nice too.

The area outside bit crowdy , dirty and loud But when being in the AC Hotel it's more than perfect.

The staff was ALWAYS SUPER FRIENDLY and always helped us when we had any problems or issues The hotel itself is also very modern, beautiful and nice. Very clean! free water every day!

Gym was extremely small You need to go to the reception every day and ask for the WiFi code which is kinda annoying... Location is not SUPER Central...

The room is clean. Nice comfy bed and good service to check in and porter service for luggage. My check out was way too early but they prepared tea and a toast for me since I'm with my mom. Location should not be an issue, there's plenty of auto and Uber service in India..very polite staffs and helpful. Will definitely stay again. Clean towels, almost everything is in bathroom

Nothing at all. The Deluxe room is very spacious. The standard room is small but it's not an issue for a day for 2 pax.

free transfer-to-hotel promotion by Booking.com didn't materialise, I arrived at Chennai airport to find that there was no pre-arranged transport waiting for me, good one Booking.com, I will think twice about using you again in the future.

The location of the Hotel, the modern amenities present in the room, the Reception and house-keeping team. Despite the issues observed, the team resolved the issues at the earliest.

WiFi password was updated every day. Needed to check with the reception team. The TV subscription was not available at the time of check-in. The drainage was clogged at the time of check-in. These issues were fixed after addressing the same to the Receptionist/house-keeping team. These issues were not show-stoppers but "Room for improvement".

From a trip were we stayed in 4 hotels in different cities in India, this one was the best one in which we stayed. The hotel was up to western standards. The room was a good size, and the bed was very comfortable. Decent cleaning and the airco worked fine. The bathroom was very new, with a nice western-style toilet. The receptionists spoke good English and were very helpful and helped us arrange a long-distance taxi for a group of 6 people. The breakfast was nice (perhaps a bit expensive for the country -aprox 5€-). Some of the options are a la carte and need to be cooked after ordering. Overall I recommend this hotel.

The ONLY bad thing about this hotel is the shower... which does not have a curtain or mampara to prevent the water from going everywhere and flooding the bathroom. From what I have seen in other hotels in India, this is common, but in other hotels at least there was a small level difference in the floor helping to avoid the water going all over the floor. I would advise the management to invest on fixing this, as it will help not flooding the bathroom.
