The location is the best part. All the staff are very friendly, complementary activities are very good

Music is loud everywhere (except the garden bgm) The restaurant has live music all the time. Which is a bit louder than the usual soothing dinner music. The live flute music in the evening boat ride was also too extra. As a traveller I live to listen to the sound of water and the birds. Please keep the music to a soothing level. This is not fun for the entire journey

This is a fabulous hotel in a fantastic location. We had a sea view room and had panoramic views across the water. Even saw dolphins! Lovely gardens and infinity pool overlooking the water. Really enjoyed the complimentary sunset boat trip! This is a good location away from the hustle and bustle of Fort Cochi or the mainland but you do need to get a ferry or taxi to get anywhere but ferry a 5 minute walk from the hotel and taxi's or tuktuks outside the hotel. Bar had good selection of drinks and could drink inside or out. Good outside area for eating as well right by the water. Good breakfast on offer and the Rice Boat restaurant was fab - we had the taster menu and would really recommend.

Nothing really, just a bit isolated but the hotel is an oasis with everything you need. You need to time your ferry trips as there can be long queues to get back to Willingdon Island, especially at the weekends. Not really enough sunbeds on offer round the pool.

The property itself was amazing it was on the edge of an island so you had complete peace. The staff were so helpful and genuinely interested in your activities and stay as a whole. I wanted to personally thank Lalith Kumar and all his team for making mine and my partner’s experience a great experience. I would definitely come back to stay here again.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

Stayed at the Taj Malabar Kochi for 3 nights. What an amazing experience right from the welcome to airport drop off. Tajness all the way. Even though the hotel was fully occupied, with two weddings going on at the site, with the restaurants being extremely busy, everything was handled so amazingly by the staff and the supervisors. The supervisors were always actively sorting out the guest flow in the restaurants with not a single issue visible in spite of the busy flow. Food, again awesome - fantastic spread, good variety, top notch quality- what more can I say. Rooms were excellent with a heritage character, with splendid harbour views of ships coming and going. Housekeeping was again top notch. We hired their car for two days sightseeing - again perfect experience, superb drivers, clean well maintained Innovas, excellent driving, right upto airport drop. This is what is Tajness - an experience in perfection. It's a testament to the management of the hotel to create such an impression in a guest. 10 on 10 for outstanding hospitality standards.

Everything was perfect

The property was very well taken care of and was definitely one of the best stays during our Cochin trip. The property had a complimentary tea and coffee session with some nice, traditional entertainment along with a boat ride along the bank it sits on. The staff was beyond helpful and very attentive.

The property is small so there are only a fair few things one can do. It isn’t located in the heart of the city and is quite a drive away from what the city had to offer which was a minor hassle, nothing one couldn’t handle if you’re on a longer trip.

Classical heritage style property, good infinity pool, quite decent food, lovely views. Lots of the staff are incredibly friendly and keen to make your stay enjoyable.

Looking worse for wear, lots of the furniture is now stained, falling apart, or in bad nick. Its understandably not going to be modern and perfect but things like pool chairs falling apart and covered in bird poo, umbrellas breaking, things are over grown and unkept (again by the pool - the rest of the grounds look good). Generally didn’t really feel like it was being looked after or maintained. Staff are almost all extremely polite and v good and attentive. Overall, needs a renovation, but some general investment in upkeep would do to begin.

Check in was excellent. Our room was a touch dated but spotlessly clean throughout our week. Thank you for the camomile tea and fresh fruit each day. Breakfast was great - fresh and varied - a great start to the day. The complimentary river cruise was wonderful - provided a great historical insight. We ate in the restaurants one evening and both food and service was superb. We used the pool a lot and it was lovely. We found the spa area a little uncared for - drain overflowing, toilet roll holder hanging off etc. Also, the jacuzzi resembled pea soup - not even sure if it is in use but did not look very welcoming. One gentleman stood out beyond everyone else and that was Sabair. He was at the pool each day and looked after us very well - made sure we had fresh towels whenevr we needed them. Such a quiet and humble man who worked tirelessly looking after some (very) demanding guests. The hotel bar does 2 for one cocktails in the evening and they are delicious - served with excelled nibbles. Please use the local ferry to go to and from Fort Kochi - it runs regularly, takes about 10 minutes and costs very little. The hotel concierge will provide a time table. We found it really fun to travel with the locals. The staff are very friendly and happy to help with any request - they are a great asset. Being set on the river, there is always something to watch - boats, yachts and ships of all varieties sail past. Although this felt like an old hotel, she is very well cared for and we felt very much at home. We were sad to leave and would most certainly re-visit if we ever travel back to Kerala.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The heritage room would have been better and that was what we had booked but on our request they showed us a sea view room on a higher floor as the heritage looked inwards and is on the first floor. We got a room on the seventh floor with a view of the waterway. The buffet meals were excellent with a very wide choice if you have a good appetite but are pricey if you aren’t very hungry as tends to be the case with buffets. The staff are very attentive. From the concierge, travel desk, reception, security, bellhops, house keeping and restaurant staff onwards - thank you all for a very pleasant stay🙏🏽

There really were no complaints. One tip, if you want to watch certain channels that are not showing on the tv request them to be added but give at least 15-30 minutes for them to appear once the staff have activated them.

Located next to Cochin naval area, Taj Malabar offers the best that Kerala had to offer. Built in 1930s, the hotel represents a unique window to Oriental world of Kerala. They have tenured staff who are willing to go extra mile to help guest experience exceptional stay. This property is a melting pot of global tourists. You will awestruck by quality of food, music, hospitality and everything else.
